WELCOME

Welcome to the Encyclopedia of Graphics File Formats CD-ROM.  
There are two main directories or folders: formats and software.


formats

This contains all the information we've been able to pull 
together for each of the graphics file formats described in 
the book.  When available from the vendors, we've included 
the official specification documents (in "spec").  We've also 
tried to include code examples (in "code") and test images 
for the format (in "image").


software

This contains a variety of contributed software that will
allow you to view, convert, and otherwise manipulate files 
in different formats.  We've included software for various 
platforms:

*  "dos" contains MS-DOS programs.

*  "windows" contains Windows programs.

*  "os2" contains OS/2 programs.

*  "unix" contains UNIX programs.

*  "mac" contains Macintosh programs.
