ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/developr/DRG/WOSA-XFS/xfs111.zip ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/developr/DRG/WOSA-XFS/sdk111a.zip These files contain the Windows Open Services Architecture / Extensions for Financial Services (WOSA/XFS) specifications (Revision 1.11) and the corresponding Software Development Kit (Revision 1.11a). WOSA/XFS, developed by the Banking Solutions Vendor Council (BSVC), defines a client-server architecture for financial services computing, that gives access to services from Windows-based applications. This version defines standard interfaces for banking peripherals (printers, cash dispensers, PIN pads, mag stripe readers/writers, check readers). XFS110.ZIP contains the six Microsoft Word documents that make up the WOSA/XFS specification, and SDK111A.ZIP contains the SDK, the software and header files needed to develop applications and service providers based on the specifications. This specification and SDK are being distributed to the financial services community for continuing review and comment, which will provide input to the ongoing enhancement of WOSA/XFS. The two enhancements that are being defined now (2nd half 1995) are: - additional device specs and enhancements to current device specs, to better support unattended self-service operation (ATM's, etc.) - definition of an OLE interface to the XFS Manager. The members of the BSVC encourage banks and other financial services companies world-wide, as well as their technology suppliers, to submit comments, questions, and requests on WOSA/XFS. This may be done on CompuServe, in the OLE Industry Solutions forum ("GO OLESOLNS") message section, or via one of the BSVC members listed in the specifications. Also, the BSVC is accepting applications for affiliate membership; interested parties should contact one of the members.
