enter the destination IP address or host name
of the switch that you want to ping.

link is only activated if you have configured
a name server in the switch. A name server
is a server that is connected to a network
that resolves network names into network addresses. |

Displays the
output from the system messages log
and debug privileged EXEC commands.

Opens
a command-line interface with a list of commands.
Click 0 to 15 to set the level.
Level 1 is for normal user EXEC mode privileges.
Level 15 is the level of access permitted
by the enable password. If you do not
set a level, it is automatically set to 15.
When you set a command to a privilege level,
all commands whose syntax is a subset of that
command are also set to that level. |
Show
Interfaces

a show interfaces command, which displays
the status and configuration of all interfaces. |
