AFP CJK METRIC-ONLY FONTS FTP INTRUCTIONS

INTRODUCTION
These  instructions  contain information concerning the save files and
AS/400 procedures associated with the installation of an update to the 
AFP CJK Metric-Only  Fonts  RPQ,  8A8080,  program number 5799-FCQ. 
These instructions are intended for the AS/400 system programmer 
responsible for program installation and maintenance.  You  should 
read all of this document before installing the fonts. 
AFP CJK METRIC-ONLY FONTS UPDATE DESCRIPTION The  save  file 
CJKFNT.SVF contains the AFP CJK Metric-Only Fonts and code pages.
These fonts are for use with non-impact printers, such as the 
IBM 3160 supported by Advanced Function Presentation  (AFP)  soft-
ware and containing the DBCS font feature 4802. Metric-only character 
sets and code pages are provided.  This update is to be used in con-
junction  with  the coded fonts provided in RPQ 8A8080, program number
5799-FCQ.  This RPQ is available at no cost.

FONT GROUPS:  
The font groups provided with AFP CJK Metric-Only  Fontsconsist of: 
1.  Japanese Metric-Only font character sets and code pages.  
2.  Korean Metric-Only font character sets and code pages.
3.  Simplified Chinese Metric-Only character sets and code pages.
4.  Traditional Chinese Metric-Only character sets and code pages.

DISTRIBUTION FORMAT
The  AFP  CJK  Metric-Only Font character sets 
and code pages are contained in a save file (*SAVF).   
The remainder of  this  document  explains  how  to  use File Transfer
Protocol (FTP) to retrieve the save file and restore the fonts.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS AND CONSIDERATIONS

The following sections identify the system requirements for installing
and activating AFP CJK Metric-Only Fonts.

OPERATING SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The  fonts  contained  in this save file may only be installed on versions
V3R7 and higher of the OS/400 operating system.
The following PSF/400 PTF's are required in order to use the AFP CJK
Metric-Only Fonts.  (If the fonts are installed without the necessary 
PSF/400 PTF's, the jobs using the MOF's will fail with message PQT3323.)

DASD STORAGE REQUIREMENTS
The entire AFP CJK Metric-Only Fonts require 0.7 MB of DASD.

FTP PROCEDURE
Always use the BINARY transfer mode when using FTP  to  transfer save files.
1.  FTP  the  save file in cjkmof.svf to your workstation.  Be sure to
    use BINARY transfer mode.
2.  Create a save file on the AS/400.  These instructions use the QGPL
    library.  You may any  library you wish.         
          CRTSAVF FILE(QGPL/CJKFNT) TEXT('AFP CJK fonts save file')
3.  FTP the CJKFNT.SVF on your workstation into the  QGPL/CJKFNT  save
    file just created.  Be sure to use the binary transfer mode.
    From the AS/400:
          FTP workstation_name (login as usual)
          BIN
          GET CJKFNT.SVF QGPL/CJKFNT (REPLACE
          QUIT
4.  Restore the QFNTOLNCJK library using the following command.
    From the AS/400:
          RSTLIB SAVLIB(QFNTOLNCJK) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/CJKFNT)
          RSTLIB(QFNTOLNCJK)
The  IBM AFP CJK Metric-Only character sets and code pages will now be
in the library QFNTOLNCJK.
