          Welcome to IBM DB2 Universal Database Text Extender

                         FixPak WR20054

                     for Windows NT Server

                         Version 5.2.0





    INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

    _________________________



    To install the PTF WR20054, you need 15 megabytes of

    free disk space on the target drive.





    INSTALLING PTF WR20054

    ______________________



    To install the DB2 UDB Text Extender PTF in Windows NT,

    you need to perform the following steps:



    1. Download file WR20054.exe in binary format.

    2. Copy the file to a separate directory.

    3. Run WR20054.exe to extract all the files needed for the installation.

    4. Read the README file for further FixPak information and prerequisites

       before installing the FixPak.



    4.1 Installation Instructions

        _________________________



        For each instance:



        o   Terminate all Text Extender Command Line Processor sessions.



        o   Make sure that the Text Extender server has been stopped

            by issuing : txstop



        o   Make sure that the all DB2 connections are terminated

            by issuing :



              db2 terminate



            Check if applications are still active by issuing:



              db2 list applications show detail



            If applications are still running, check that you can stop running

            DB2 applications and enter the following command:



              db2 force applications all



        o   To install the FixPak, enter the following command from the FixPak

            installation directory:


              service -lang <lang-value> [-client]


              Take the lang-value (language value) from the following list:

              {de_de,en_us,es_es,fr_fr,it_it,ja_jp,ko_kr,pt_pt,zh_cn,zh_tw}.

              For example to update the german message files during FixPak

              installation you have to specify de_de for the lang-value.


              You must specify the -client option if you want to install the

              FixPak on a client.


        A FixPak installation log WR20054.log is written to the current directory.



    4.2 Post Installation Instructions

        ______________________________



        The following step is only necessary if FIXPAK WR20052 has not been installed.
        o  To update all Text Extender enabled databases with the

           modified SEARCH_RESULT UDF enter:



             txdbupdt <database_name>


           <database_name> is the name of the database you want to update.



    5. Reboot the system to make the changes effective.
