This Readme lists known issues found in ShowCase Analyzer 7.2. You can find additional release notes in the ShowCase Analyzer 7.2 Guide, Chapter 2. For the latest ShowCase Analyzer documentation, refer to the Documentation web page, accessible through the SPSS Support site.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x
Showcase Analyzer does not currently support Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x
Java Web Client
A minimum of 64MB and a maximum of 128MB are recommended for Java Plug-in memory. Insufficient memory may result in OutofMemory errors (when you are importing a large number of reports, for example). For instructions on increasing Java Plug-in memory, see the ShowCase Analyzer 7.2 Guide, Chapter 9.
The Analyzer 7.2 Java Web Client applet is roughly 2.5MB larger than the Analyzer 7.01 Java Web Client applet. This may increase download times depending on your Internet connection speed.
The Hyperion help states "Single-page drop-down list boxes omit page combinations that do not contain data." This is not true. Drop-down lists do display page combinations that do not contain data. (27248 & 26488)
ShowCase Server Compatibility
Administrators can specify which ShowCase Server versions to use for SDM and SCJDBC relational reports by creating the ShowCase.version= value in the Analyzer.properties file. By default the version value is 7.0 (allowing Analyzer 7.20 to connect to ShowCase Server versions 7.0 and 6.5x). Creating the property and setting it to 7.1 allows Analyzer 7.2 to connect solely to ShowCase Server version 7.1 (Analyzer 7.20 patch 1 is required for ShowCase Server 7.1 support).
Note: The Analyzer Server must be restarted after changing the Analyzer.properties file.
Migration
A report group name containing forward slashes ( / ) in Analyzer 6.21 or 7.01 is migrated to Analyzer 7.2 as a folder with subfolders named based on the text before and after the forward slashes. For example, an Analyzer 7.01 report group named "A/B/C Group" will migrate to Analyzer 7.2 as folder "A," with subfolders "B" and "C Group." (24824)
The migration process disables the "Change Password at Next Login" Administration Tools setting. For example, if you enable the "Change Password at Next Login" setting for a user in Analyzer 7.2, then migrate files containing that user to 7.2, the setting will be disabled. (25021)
Global database access
You will be able to see all global databases migrated to 7.2 even if you did not have access to those databases in 6.21/7.01. However, you will not be able to create reports against global database connections unless you have a valid user profile on the server against which the connection was created. (24993)
Externally authenticated users
Externally authenticated users appear in bold text in the Users/User Groups tab of the Administration Tools Client. (25099)
If you set your security.authDiffAction
setting in the Analyzer.properties
file to DELETE, then change your security setting -- for example, from iSeries Authentication to Essbase Authentication --
externally authenticated users that are valid in the new security model will not be deleted. (24384)
Opening reports with members renamed in Essbase
If you use an Essbase Server connection to create a report with advanced member-selection options, such as "Also Select Siblings," then rename the member in Essbase, you will receive an error message the next time you attempt to open the report. This issue is resolved in Analyzer 7.20 patch 1. (24946)
Adding columns in SQL Query Builder Wizard
When you add columns to a table in the SQL Query Builder Wizard, the Available Columns list is not updated. This issue is resolved in Analyzer 7.20 patch 1. (24594)
Analyzer Server Console
If you click Submit or Kill on the Analyzer Server Console page, you will be logged out of the Console. This issue is resolved in Analyzer 7.20 patch 1. (25321, 25571)
The Analyzer Server Console only lists sessions that are started after the Server Console session was logged into. Any sessions that are activated prior to launching the Server Console will not display in the console. (26118)
Split panel properties do not display
If you add a Split Panel to a report in Report Designer mode, then double-click on the Split Panel or right-click on the Split Panel and select Properties, the Split Panel properties do not display. This issue is resolved in Analyzer 7.20 patch 1. (23436, 25573)
