Modifying the Security Setting

If you modify security settings that include externally authenticated users (iSeries or Essbase), you must choose to convert those profiles or remove them from Analyzer security. This is done using the security.authDiffAction setting in the Analyzer.properties file.

For example, if you originally set the value for the security.secondaryAuth setting to iSeries (iSeries Authentication), but later changed the value to blank (Analyzer Security Only), you must specify whether those users will be granted or denied access to Analyzer.

Important: If you convert from integrated security to Analyzer-only security, the converted passwords become case sensitive, and those users will be prompted to change their passwords the next time they log on.

To convert or delete a security setting:

1. To add the Analyzer Server to your library list, run the command:

ADDLIBLE ANZSERVER

where ANZSERVER is the name of your Analyzer Server library.

2. To stop the Analyzer Server, run the ENDANZ command.

3. Open the Analyzer.properties file for editing. The file is in the IFS directory location /ANZSERVER/proddata/config/ (where ANZSERVER is the Analyzer installation library).

4. Locate the following line:

security.authDiffAction=IGNORE
where IGNORE is the current security setting.

5. Change the setting to Convert to grant Analyzer access, or Delete to deny Analyzer access.

6. Save the file, and run the STRANZ command to restart the Analyzer Server.

Important: If you convert from integrated security to Analyzer-only security, the converted passwords become case sensitive, and those users will be prompted to change their passwords the next time they log in.
