Description

IBM® SPSS® Collaboration and Deployment Services 4.2 is an enterprise-level application that enables widespread use and deployment of predictive analytics. It provides the platform for integrating SPSS analytical products into complete business solutions. For example, IBM® SPSS® Collaboration and Deployment Services is a prerequisite for IBM® SPSS® Decision Management, the suite of customizable predictive applications for insurance, banking, and market research, including fraud detection, credit risk evaluation, and campaign effectiveness analysis. The enterprise features of the system include centralized, secure, and auditable storage of analytical assets and advanced capabilities for management and control of predictive analytic processes, as well as sophisticated mechanisms for delivering the results of analytical processing to the end users.

Known problems

At time of publication, the following issues were known:

If you are installing IBM Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository with JBoss 5.1, use Sun JRE 1.6.0_20 or higher.
If you are unable to start IBM Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository after installing into JBoss, make sure that wrapper.java.command parameter in <JBOSS_HOME>/wrapper/conf specifies the fully qualified path to the Java executable, for example, <JDK_HOME>/bin/java .
If you are unable to restore IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository saved on a zLinux system with IBM JRE 5 SP11, contact SPSS support.
Directory paths containing space characters cannot be used when deploying the repository into a Windows-based WebLogic cluster with IBM SPSS helper scripts.
To run the repository as a service on Vista or Windows 7–based systems using a Local System account, you must manually create the default temp directory for Local System account. Ensure that the directory specified by TMPDIR or TEMPDIR environment variable exists and the user has write permissions to it. As an alternate to using Windows default temp directory, you can set the java.io.tmpdir property for the application server. For example, when using JBoss, edit the service wrapper file (<JBOSS_HOME>\wrapper\conf\wrapper.conf ) as follows: wrapper.java.additional.<n>=-Djava.io.tmpdir=C:/TEMPDIR , where <n> is the property number within the wrapper file starting at 1.
If you have installed content repository adapters for ShowCase 9 with dplyscpkg utility, you must use browser-based IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Deployment Manager to specify the values for the following configuration options: IBM Showcase Warehouse Builder Database (the ShowCase server library used when running dplyscpkg ); IBM Showcase Warehouse Builder Host Name (localhost); IBM Showcase Warehouse Builder User Name (the IBM i user profile entered when prompted by dplyscpkg); and IBM Showcase Warehouse Builder User Password (IBM i password entered when prompted by dplyscpkg).
If “UnmarshalException caused by incompatible serialVersionUID” occurs when you access Deployment Manager Model Management View, it may be necessary to update the repository JRE to version 1.6.0_14.
For the AIX platform, WebSphere 7 requires Fix Pack 7 to be applied.
Creating a scoring configuration with an object that uses the KNN algorithm in IBM Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository running on AIX may cause the application server to crash.
