The dnsnames parameter defines how
TCP/IP addresses are displayed in messages.
dnsnames=<on|off>- Description
- Set the value to on to enable the display
of TCP/IP addresses in messages as symbolic TCP/IP host names; these
are obtained from a Domain Name System (DNS) query. This conversion
makes the messages easier to read but might cause a significant reduction
in performance. If the value is set to off TCP/IP
addresses are displayed in messages in numeric form.
You can use
the ctgservice command on Windows or ctgstart command
on UNIX and Linux with
the -dnsnames option to override the value of dnsnames. For more information, see Command reference .
Note: The dnsnames parameter
supersedes the nonames parameter.
This parameter is in the GATEWAY section of the configuration file.
