Automatic restart management

Use the Automatic Restart Manager (ARM) to restart the Gateway daemon if a failure occurs.

If you start the CICS Transaction Gateway with JCL (see Starting in batch mode), you can register the job with z/OS ARM. This allows z/OS to restart the Gateway automatically if it fails, or if the system on which it was running fails.

See the SCTGSAMP PDS library for sample JCL. The job steps relating to CTGARM are commented-out, so that users who do not use ARM can run the samples.
