Figure 46 illustrates the relationship between the topology definitions establishing a CICSplex and the views used to create and maintain those definitions. Notice that the definitions are stored in the data repositories of all CMASs participating in the management of the CICSplex. (For additional information about the data repository, see the description in topic Working with maintenance point CMASs.)

Figure 46. The relationship between CICSplex components and the topology views
This diagram shows a CMAS configuration consisting of CICSPlex EYUPLX01, 5 associated MASs, 4 on the same MVS image, and one on a separate MVS image. This configuration is maintained using the following topology views: PERIODEF -- to define and maintain time period definitions, SYSGRPC -- to associate CICS systems with CICS system groups, CICSGRP -- to define and maintain CICS system group definitions, SYSDEF (CICSSYS) -- to define and maintain CICS system definitions..

Start of changeIn addition, you can use the CICSPlex SM operations views-->Runtime MAS display view (EUI view MAS) to manage an active CICS® system as indicated in Table 4, and described in Working with MAS topology definitions using the Web User Interface.End of change

Note:

Using the Administration views-->System availability monitoring administration views-->CICS system definition and Administration views-->System availability monitoring administration views-->Time period definition views to update definitions affects both a currently running system and the definitions in the data repository. Updates made using the Runtime MAS display (MAS) view, however, are not included in the data repository.
