Issuing HELP with parameters

You can request help information by entering the HELP command in the COMMAND field of the information display panel. The syntax of the HELP command is:

   HELp [HELp | cmd-name | view-name | ACTIONS]

where:

HELp
causes information about the help facility itself to be displayed
cmd-name
is the name of a display command for which help information is to be displayed
view-name
is the name of the view for which help information is to be displayed
ACTIONS
causes information about the action commands associated with the view shown in the current window to be displayed

For example, if the current window contains the MONSPEC view:

  1. The command HEL HEL displays explanatory information about the CICSPlex® SM help facility.
  2. The command HEL SO displays help for the SOrt display command.
  3. The command HEL MONSPEC displays help for the MONSPEC view.
  4. The command HEL ACTIONS displays help for the CRE, ADD, BRO, REM, UPD, and TEMPMP action commands, which are valid for the MONSPEC view.
