Usually, you start with a symptom, or set of symptoms, and trace them back to their cause. This book describes tools and techniques you can use to find the cause of a problem and suggests action for solving the problem.
Sometimes, you cannot solve the problem yourself if, for example, it is caused by limitations in the hardware or software you are using. If the cause of the problem is CICS code, you need to contact IBM®, as described in Working with IBM to solve your problem.
