Lookups allow you to quickly find specific reference information, for example a CICS command or parameter. You can enter a query in uppercase or lowercase, and the results will return a match if your query is in the list of items for the category you selected.
Enter your query in the Find field and select the type of lookup you want to perform. If only one occurrence of your query is found, the topic containing that information is displayed. If more than one match is found, you will be given a list of results to select from. If you want to look up a message, code or trace entry, you need to enter specific information. These requirements are explained in the sections below.
Except for the messages, codes and trace entries lookups, lookup queries:
Enter the full message number, including the three-character product prefix, with or without the trailing severity indicator, or a four-character abend code.
Enter the two-character domain abbreviation followed by the four-hexadecimal-digit trace identifier. Optionally, you can leave a space between the domain abbreviation and the trace identifier.
