The information center has a number of preferences that you can use to customize the documentation.
An interactive table allows you to sort by column and search for specific strings. Tables that have spanned rows or columns will not be interactive. If a table has column headings, you can sort the rows of the table by selecting the column heading. The column will be sorted in ascending order. If you select the same heading again, the order of sorting reverses.
You can search for particular words or use a regular expression. This is particularly useful when the table is very large. Enter your query, select the column you want to search in from the drop-down list, and select the Go button.
Searching and filtering are cumulative; that is, each operation is applied to the results of the previous operation. Use the Reset button if you want to change the table so that all rows are displayed in their original order.
To set how many rows a table must have before becoming interactive, expand Preferences in the navigation and select Interactive tables. The default is 10.
Every image in the information center has an alternative text description for the benefit of blind or partially sighted users. This text is normally unformatted, and can be seen when the mouse hovers over the image. Some images with very complex descriptions have formatted alternative text.
To select the Text option, expand Preferences in the navigation and select Images. When you select this option, the information center will not display images, but will use the alternative text.
Syntax for commands is presented in the form of a diagram. The diagram tells you what you can do with the particular command, and indicates relationships between different options and, sometimes, different values of an option.
To change the format of syntax diagrams throughout the information center, expand Preferences in the navigation and select Syntax diagrams.
