A group is created when you specify it as the GROUP name in a DEFINE command
or as the TO group in a COPY command (see
The CEDA COPY command and
The CEDA DEFINE command). For example, the command:
CEDA DEFINE PROGRAM(PROG1) GROUP(MYGROUP)
defines a program called PROG1, and creates a group called MYGROUP
if it does not already exist.
These are the only ways to create a group; a nonexistent group can be named
in a list, but naming it in a list does not create it.
A group must not have the same name as an existing group or list.
You can create a list in either of the following ways:
- Use the ADD command to add a group to a list (see The CEDA ADD command).
If the specified list does not exist, it is created.
- Use the APPEND command to append the contents of one list to another list
(see The CEDA APPEND command). If the appended-to list does not exist, it is
created, containing the contents of the first list.
A list must not have the same name as an already existing group or list.
