Real-time analysis definitions and their related views

Start of changeYou can use the real-time analysis administration views to define a variety of real-time analysis attributes. Figure 4 provides an overview of the EUI real-time analysis views based on the CICSPlex® SM object model. See Table 2 for a list of equivalent WUI views. In addition to the views shown here, you can use the views described in Table 3 to display information about and manage the real-time analysis activity in an active CICS® system. In the EUI you can also display a visual map of your real-time analysis definitions by using the MAP action command, as described in CICSPlex SM Administration.End of change

Figure 4. Views for creating real-time analysis objects and associations
The diagram shows the relationship between the views used for administration of real-time analysis. The CICS system definition (CICSSYS) view defines and maintains CICS system definitions which include information about real-time analysis. System group definition (CICSGRP) defines and maintains CICS system groups and displays information about them. The Link RTA specification to CICS system and Link RTA specification to system group (RTASCOPE) views define and maintain CICS systems or system groups associated with an analysis specification. The RTA specification (RTASPEC) view defines and maintains control attributes for SAM. The RTA group in RTA specification (RTAINSPC) view displays the names of analysis specifications and the groups associated with them and allows the information to be updated. The RTA group (RTAGROUP) view defines and maintains analysis groups. The RTA definition in RTA group (RTAINGRP) view displays the names of analysis groups and their associated analysis and status definitions and allows the information to be updated. The Time period definition (PERIODEF) view allows time period definitions to be created or modified and displays existing definitions. The Action definition (ACTNDEF) view allows action definitions to be created or modified and displays information about existing definitions The Status definition (STATDEF) view allows status definitions to be created or modified and displays information about existing definitions. The RTA definition (RTADEF) view allows analysis definitions to be created or modified and displays information about existing definitions. The Evaluation definition (EVALDEF) view allows evaluation definitions to be created or modified and displays information about existing definitions.

Start of changeFigure 5 illustrates the relationship between system availability monitoring (SAM) and the views used to establish that type of real-time analysis in a CICSplex(EUI view names are in brackets). In this case, theCICS system definition (CICSSYS) view is used to change the CICS system definition. The RTA specification (RTASPEC) view and Link RTA specification to CICS system and Link RTA specification to CICS system group (RTASCOPE) views are used to allow multiple CICS systems to use customized action definitions, severity levels, or both.End of change

Start of changeFigure 5. The relationship between SAM, the CICS system definition (CICSSYS) view, and the real-time analysis views
The diagram shows two MVS systems, System A and System B. System A has a CMAS, EYUCMS1A and four MASs, EYUMAS1A (a TOR), EYUMAS2A (an AOR), EYUMAS3A (an AOR) and EYUMAS4A (a FOR). System B has a CMAS, EYUCMS1B and a MAS, EYUMAS1B (an AOR). Sysplex EYUPLX01 contains all the MASs from both systems. System Group EYUCSG01 contains all three AORs (across both systems) and the FOR. EYUMAS1B is also contained in system group, EYUCSG05. EYUCMS1A is the maintenance point for CICSplex EYUPLX01. There is a connection between the two CMASs. The following views are used to define and maintain the definitions in the data repository: CICS system definition (CICSSYS) defines system name as EYUMAS1A, primary CMAS as EYUCMS1A, active time as PRIME, analysis active as YES and conditions SOS, TRANDUMP and MAXTASK. RTA specification (RTASPEC) defines an analysis specification EYURTS01, MAXTASK action ACTDEF1 and MAXTASK severity 255. Link RTA specification to CICS system and Link RTA specification to system group (RTASCOPE) associate the specification with EYUMAS1A.

The following views are used to define and maintain the definitions in the data repository: RTA Specification (RTASPEC) defines analysis specification EYURTS02. Link RTA specification to CICS system and Link RTA specification to CICS system group (RTASCOPE) associate the specification with EYUMAS1A. RTA group (RTAGROUP) defines group EYURTG01. RTAINSPC associates EYURTS02 (specification) with EYURTG01 (group). Status definition (STATDEF) defines status definition EYURTS01. RTA group in RTA specification (RTAINGRP) associates EYURTS01 (status definition) with EYURTG01 (group). RTA definition (RTADEF) defines analysis definition EYURTD01 and associates it with action definition EYURTA01 and evaluation definition EYURTE01. Analysis definitions in groups (RTAINGRP) associates EYURTD01 (analysis definition) with EYURTG01 (group). Action definition (ACTNDEF) defines action definition EYURTA01. EVALDEF defines evaluation definition EYURTE01.
