- CCSID
- See "coded character set identifier".
- coded character set identifier
- A 16-bit number identifying a specific set of encoding scheme identifier,
character set identifier(s), code page identifier(s), and additional coding-related
required information, that uniquely identifies the coded graphic character
representation used. Acronym: CCSID.
- UNICODE
- A universal character encoding standard that supports the interchange,
processing, and display of text that is written in any of the languages of
the modern world. It also supports many classical and historical texts in
a number of languages. The Unicode standard has a 16-bit international character
set defined by ISO 10646.
