Installing CICSPlex SM - WUI scenario

This learning path is intended for system administrators who are preparing to install CICSPlex System Manager to use the Web User Interface (WUI). It does not cover installing CICSPlex SM to use the ISPF end-user interface and CAS.

CICSPlex System Manager is a system management component of CICS TS 3.1. It enables you to manage multiple CICS systems from a single control point. This learning path describes how to install and set up CICSPlex SM to manage a CICSplex using two CICSPlex SM address spaces (CMASs) and the WUI. The WUI is a customizable, platform-independent interface for your web browser. The server component of the WUI runs on a dedicated local MAS connected to a CMAS at the same release level. The environment that this learning path describes is outlined in the following figure. Each step of the learning path will build up the view of this diagram until you have a complete picture. The examples and code samples that are used in the following topics relate to the names of different components in the diagram.
Figure 1. CICSPlex SM environment overviewThis diagram
shows two MVS systems, A and B. On System A is a CMAS MP called EYUCMS1A.
It has a data repository and a WUI server region called EYUWUI1E. A CICSplex
called EYUPLX01 runs across both systems. There are six regions, three on
each system. Each region is a MAS. On system B is a CMAS called EYUCMS2A which
links to the CMAS MP on system A. The CMAS on system B has its own data repository
and manages the three local MASs on system B. The Batch rep facility is present
on both systems, to indicate that you can use it to quickly configure your
CMAS definitions.

Before you begin to follow this learning path, familiarize yourself with the planning activities that are outlined in ../eyue3/eyue3b0033.htm#eyue3bt, as this will help you when following this learning path.
