The DATE data type holds a Gregorian calendar
date (year, month, and day). The format of a DATE literal
is the word DATE followed by a space, followed by a date
in single quotation marks in the form 'yyyy-mm-dd'. For example:
DECLARE MyDate DATE;
SET MyDate = DATE '2000-02-29';
Do not omit leading zeroes from
the year, month, and day.
