WebSphere MQ SSL support
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) concepts provides a description of SSL, which is an industry
standard protocol for transmitting secure data over an insecure network. WebSphere MQ supports
SSL Version 3.0 as follows:
- i5/OS(TM)
- SSL support is integral to the i5/OS operating system.
- Java(TM) and JMS clients
- These clients use the Java Secure Socket Extension (JSSE) to
provide SSL support. You can find more information about JSSE at http://www.java.sun.com/products/jsse
- Windows(R) and UNIX(R) systems
- For all the UNIX and Windows systems, the SSL support is installed
with WebSphere MQ.
- z/OS(R)
- SSL support is integral to the z/OS operating system. Note that the SSL support
on z/OS is known as System SSL.
