COBOL file
When you are using the
option COBOL file in the New message definition file
wizard to create a message definition, the following are the list
of panels you will be presented with:
Panel properties
- Message sets
- This field lists the message set projects that are available in your workspace.
Click on the '+' symbol to the left of the project to see the list of message
sets that are available for you to select. Depending on how you started the New
message definition file wizard, a message set might be preselected
for you. This does not prevent you from selecting an alternative message set
if you prefer.
If you select a message set that does not have a Custom Wire
Format layer defined, a warning is shown and only the logical information
appears in the message definition file.
- Message definition file name
- Specify the name of the message definition file that you are creating.
- Overwrite existing file contents without warning
- Select this option if you want to replace the contents of an existing
message definition file and not be warned when this happens. Only select this
if you are confident that replacing an existing message definition file will
not cause you any problems.
- Preserve case in variable names
- By selecting this option, the importer preserves the case that the variable
names in the COBOL data structure have been written in. If you deselect this
option, all variable names will be in lowercase.
The default is for this
to be selected.
- Use target namespace
- Select this option if you want to specify a target namespace for the message
definition file. You can choose a target namespace only if namespaces have
been enabled in the message set.
If you select this option, specify the
namespace to be used in the field that has been enabled.
The namespace
prefix that is created in the message definition file is set
to tns. You can edit the Namespace Settings on the XML physical format layer
at the message set level to control prefixes written in XML instance messages.
