Logger event message can be used to determine the log extents that are no longer required for queue manager restart, or media recovery. Superfluous log extents can be archived to a medium such as tape for disaster recovery, then removed from the active log directory. Regular removal of superfluous log extents keeps disk space usage to a minimum.
