Example of a multiple broker configuration

You can have only one broker on each WebSphere MQ queue manager; however, brokers can communicate with other brokers in your WebSphere MQ system, so subscribers can subscribe to one broker and receive messages that were initially published to another broker. This is illustrated in Figure 2.

In this example, a second broker has been added.

A publication is propagated to another broker only if a subscription to that topic exists on the other broker.
