Logs are one of the first places to look when you are trying to diagnose any type of error. Your system will have a number of different types of logs, and any number of them might be used during operation of WebSphere Event Broker.
The information that is recorded in a log typically consists of a time stamp, which indicates when the error occurred, and a brief description of the error, which can be expanded to provide more details of the error. Sometimes there might be a general error that was caused by a number of other errors, and they are grouped under the general error.
When an error occurs, check the local error log first. The local error log records information about major activities within the system. All components of WebSphere Event Broker provide diagnostic information whenever error or warning conditions affect broker operation. These conditions include:
There are also a number of logs that are specific to WebSphere Event Broker, which record runtime errors, internal errors that are produced by the operating system or your code, or errors related to the work that you are doing in a particular perspective, all of which you can view using the workbench.
