Linux client: hardware and software required

This section outlines the hardware and software requirements for the WebSphere MQ client for Linux(R).

Hardware

The WebSphere MQ client for Linux (x86 platform) runs on any machine that supports the x86 machine architecture. The WebSphere MQ client for Linux (POWER(TM) platform) runs on any machine that supports the POWER machine architecture. The WebSphere MQ client for Linux (zSeries(R) platform) runs on any machine that supports the zSeries machine architecture.

For connectivity, you can use any communications hardware that supports SNA LU 6.2 (Linux (x86 platform) only) or TCP/IP.

Software

The following are the software prerequisites for the WebSphere MQ client for Linux. Minimum supported levels are shown. Later levels, if any, are supported unless otherwise stated.
