Migrating from Version 2.1 to Version 6.0: migrating applications and runtime components

This topic describes one of two migration scenarios that are available to you when migrating from WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker Version 2.1 to WebSphere Message Broker Version 6.0.

Before you start:

In this migration scenario, your Version 2.1 domain components might be on several computers, but the steps are the same for each. After migration to Version 6.0, you no longer need to keep Version 2.1. The following topics tell you how to migrate individual components. The Version 2.1 tooling and Configuration Manager do not work with Version 6.0 components, so you must migrate components in the order shown:

  1. Migrate the tooling
  2. Migrate the Configuration Manager
  3. Migrate the User Name Server
  4. Migrate the broker
