C header file
When you are using
the option C header file in the New message definition
file wizard to create a message definition, the following are
the list of panels you will be presented with:
Panel properties
- Message sets
- This field lists the message set projects that are available in your workspace.
Click on the '+' symbol to the left of the project to see a list of the message
sets that are available for you to select. Depending on how you started the New
message definition file wizard, a message set might be preselected
for you. This does not prevent you from selecting an alternative message set
if you prefer.
- Message definition file name
- Specify the name of the message definition file that you are creating.
- Overwrite existing file contents without warning
- Select this option if you want to replace the contents of an existing
message definition file and not be warned when this happens. Only select this
if you are confident that replacing an existing message definition file will
not cause you any problems.
- Preserve case in variable names
- Select this option if you want the importer to preserve the case that
the variable names in the C data structure have been written in. If you deselect
this option, all variable names will be in lowercase.
The default is for
this to be selected.
- Use target namespace
- Select this option if you want to specify a target namespace for the message
definition file. You can only choose a target namespace if namespaces have
been enabled in the message set.
If you select this option, specify the
namespace to be used in the field that has been enabled.
The namespace
prefix created in the message definition file is set to tns.
You can edit the Namespace Settings on the XML physical format layer at the
message set level to control prefixes written in XML instance messages.
