Packaging

The WebSphere ESB package contains three sets of CDs. The two main sets of CDs include the software that you need to install WebSphere ESB, to set up your WebSphere ESB environment, and to assemble and deploy applications. The supplemental CDs are optional and provide additional value and tool support for your production and development environments.

How to acquire WebSphere ESB

You can obtain the product code in any of the following ways:
  • From the product CDs.
  • From the Passport Advantage site, where licensed customers can download installation images. These electronic images map one-for-one to the CDs

CDs in WebSphere ESB wallet 1

The first WebSphere ESB wallet contains the CDs that are listed in Table 1:

WebSphere ESB CD 1

Seven different platform versions of this CD are available:

  • AIX
  • HP-UX
  • Linux
  • Linux on iSeries and pSeries
  • Linux on zSeries
  • Solaris
  • Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003

Each platform-specific CD contains the following installable components:

  • WebSphere ESB in the WBI directory.
  • WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment in the WAS directory.

Use the Launchpad application in the root directory to install and view information about any of the installable components in the primary packet, except the IBM Eclipse Help System, which must be installed by following the procedure in Installing the documentation.

The second WebSphere ESB wallet contains the CDs that are listed in Table 2:

Each platform-specific CD contains the following installable components:

  • WebSphere Message Service Clients in the MsgClients directory:
    • IBM Message Service Client for .NET (Windows only)
    • IBM Message Service Client for C/C++ (Linux and Windows)
    • IBM Web Services Client for C++ (AIX, Linux and Windows)
  • IBM HTTP Server in the IHS directory.
  • Web server plug-ins in the plugin directory.
  • Application Client in the AppClient directory.
  • IBM Eclipse Help System in the IEHS directory.

The Windows platform CD has the Data Direct Java(TM) Database Connectivity (JDBC) drivers.

The third WebSphere ESB wallet contains the CDs that are listed in Table 3:

WebSphere Application Server Toolkit

One CD is available for each of the following platforms:
  • Linux
  • Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003

Two platform-specific CDs (one each for Linux and Windows platforms) provide basic assembly and deployment tooling for publishing to an application server, such as WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment. You can also use the tool to perform basic unit testing, debugging, and profiling functions.

CDs in the supplemental wallets

The supplemental WebSphere ESB wallets 4, 5, 6 and 7 contain the CDs that are listed in Table 4:

WebSphere Application Server Edge Components

Six different platform versions of this CD are available:

Address the needs of highly available, high-volume environments with the Edge components.

The Edge components include sophisticated load balancing, caching, and centralized security capabilities.

DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Server Edition

Eight different platform versions of this CD are available:
  • 3 AIX (including AIX for DBCS language environments)
  • HP-UX
  • Linux
  • Linux on pSeries
  • Solaris
  • Windows

DB2 Universal Database V8.2 has numerous innovative enhancements.

Improved integration with WebSphere ESB, key development tools, and platforms help make programmers more efficient than ever.

A broad array of autonomic or self-managing capabilities can free more administrator time to focus on driving business value.

The ease of use in DB2 V8.2 and the self-managing characteristics might even eliminate the need for dedicated administrators in smaller implementations.

Tivoli Directory Server

Six different platform versions of this CD are available:
  • AIX
  • HP-UX
  • Linux
  • Linux on pSeries
  • Solaris
  • Windows

The IBM Tivoli Directory Server product is a powerful Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) infrastructure.

Tivoli Directory Server provides a foundation for deploying comprehensive identity management applications and advanced software architectures.

IBM Tivoli Access Manager Servers

Five different platform versions of this CD are available:

  • Solaris
  • Windows
