Controlling which messaging engines can connect to a bus

When messaging security is enabled, only authorized messaging engines are allowed to create a connection to a secure bus. Use this task to control which messaging engines are allowed to connect to a selected secure bus.

To control which messaging engines can create a connection to a selected bus, complete the following steps:

  1. Set the Inter-engine authentication alias property to prevent unauthorized clients or messaging engines from establishing a connection, see Configuring bus properties.
  2. If you are using mediations, set the Mediations authentication alias property to specify a user ID and password for mediations that access the bus, see Securing mediations.
  3. If you require extra security, configure the SSL certificate stores to restrict objects that can make an SSL connection, and hence join the bus. For more information see Configuring secure sockets layer.
