WebSphere Message Service Clients for C/C++ and .NET, Version 1.2 Operating Systems: Linux, Windows

Tips for troubleshooting

Use these tips to help you troubleshoot problems with using XMS.

Problems with accessing the JNDI Lookup web service

When an XMS C or C++ application attempts to retrieve administered objects from a COS naming directory, the lookup fails and an error message is generated if Web Services Client for C++, which is a prerequisite of the XMS WSVC IIA plugin, is not available, or if an incorrect version has been installed. The error message generated may indicate that the WSVC IIA plugin cannot be found. This can be misleading, as the plugin may be present but one of its prerequisites is missing.

If this occurs, check that a compatible version of Web Services Client for C++ is installed and defined on the system path. For further information about Web Services Client for C++, refer to the Web Services Client for C++ documentation.
