Why and when to perform this task

This topic provides information about installing the following Message Service clients with WebSphere ESB on Linux or Windows platforms.

This task assumes that you have already opened the WebSphere ESB Launchpad as described in Installing WebSphere ESB for the first time.

Steps for this task

  1. From the Launchpad, open the installation wizard for the client that you are installing. To open the wizard, select the following options:
    1. On the Welcome page, click Message service clients installation.
    2. On the Message service clients installation page, click the name of the client that you want to install, for example IBM Message Service Client for C/C++.
    3. On the installation page for the selected client, select the option for launching the installation wizard. For example, to start the wizard for Message Service Client for C/C++, click Launch the installation wizard for Message Service Client for C/C++.
At this point, you may be prompted to enter the location of the disk labeled IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus CD2 for your platform. If this prompt appears, complete step 2 before continuing with step 3. Note that this prompt does not appear if you are installing from a location that has the contents of IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus CD1 and CD2 in peer subdirectories.
  2. If you are prompted to enter the location of CD2 for your platform:
    • If you have the disk, insert it in the drive and click OK.
    • If you are installing from another location, enter the location of the contents of CD2 and click OK.
The installation wizard displays a welcome message and you are now ready to begin installing the selected client.
  3. Install the client by completing one of the following tasks:

What to do next

If you are using the administered JMS objects provided by WebSphere ESB with Message Service Clients for C/C++ and .NET, you must configure the JNDILookup Web Service that WebSphere ESB provides to enable non-Java clients to access administered JMS objects from a non-Java environment.
