Task filtering selector

Use the task filtering selector to restrict the display of administrative console panels to those that are relevant to your tasks.

The task filtering selector is displayed on the Welcome page, when you first login to the administrative console. To return to the Welcome page from another page, click Welcome at the top of the navigation pane.

Draft comment:
Put any extra panel description in this section...

Each task in the administrative console is supported by one or more panels. You can use a task filter to display the set of panels that are most appropriate to the tasks that you want to complete, and thereby focus your activities on only those panels.

To apply a task filter, select the filter name in the Filter administrative tasks list, then click Apply. The following task filters are provided:

All
This displays all administrative console panels. This is most appropriate for an administrator interested in managing all parts of WebSphere ESB and the underlying WebSphere Application Server.
Application Integration
This displays panels suitable for the following task areas:
  • Adjusting the configuration of service integration buses, servers, server clusters, messaging engines and network topologies needed to support the deployment of mediation modules and service applications
  • Creating resources (for example, JMS connection factories and Common Event Infrastructure profiles) needed by deployed service applications and mediation modules
  • Operational control of mediation modules and service applications

This is most appropriate for an administrator interested in deploying mediation modules.

Server and Bus
This displays panels suitable for the following task areas:
  • Defining service integration buses, servers, server clusters, messaging engines and network topologies needed to support the deployment of mediation modules and service applications
  • Enabling and disabling infrastructure services
  • Installing applications and mediation modules
  • Creating resources (for example, JMS connection factories and Common Event Infrastructure profiles) needed by deployed service applications and mediation modules
  • Operational control of the bus and server environment

This is most appropriate for an administrator interested in managing the bus and server environment needed to support the deployment of service applications and mediation modules. This includes defining the network and bus topology, defining appropriate resources and monitoring the runtime system and troubleshooting any runtime errors.
