Ensuring the messaging engine can access mediations

Use this task to ensure that the messaging engine can access mediations.

This task assumes that you have configured a mediations authentication alias. For more information, see Managing J2EE Connector Architecture authentication data entries.
The messaging engine uses a mediations authentication alias to access mediations.

To specify a mediations authentication alias for the messaging engine, use the administrative console to complete the following steps:

  1. In the navigation pane, click Service Integration > Buses. A list of buses is displayed in the content pane.
  2. In the content pane, select the name of the bus where the mediation is defined. The properties for the bus are displayed.
  3. In the Mediations authentication alias field, select the authentication alias you want to use to access the bus.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Save your changes to the master configuration.
The mediation identity is available for the messaging engine to use to access mediations.
Next, you can protect your mediation handlers by assigning security roles to them. For more information, see Deploying secured applications.
