As an alternative to using the installation wizard, you can run
the installation from the command line.
Why and when to perform this task
Running the installer from a command prompt allows
you to finely control the installation. The following options are available:
- Record a response file using the runtime command line option -record.
- Perform an unattended, or silent, installation, which requires no interaction
with the wizard by invoking the installer from a command prompt using the
runtime command line option -silent. The silent install uses the response
file that you specify when you type in the command.
- Perform a console-based, text-based installation.
To use any of these options, type the appropriate command from the
following list.
