When you have installed an application with an embedded WebSphere
Adapter, you can use the administrative console to administer the adapter.
For example, if you want to change the path settings for the RAR file, resource
adapter classes, or libraries for the resource adapter.
Before you begin
In order to perform this task, you must have security permission to
change settings in the administrative console.
Why and when to perform this task
You might want to change the configuration properties of a WebSphere
Adapter for a number of reasons; for example, if you have made changes to
the application using the adapter or have deployed an update that uses different
adapter classes or libraries.
Note: The WebSphere Relational Resource Adapter
is installed and runs as part of WebSphere Application Server, and needs no
further administration. The SIB JMS Resource Adapter is used for the default
messaging provider, and has some properties that you can change.
To
administer an adapter, use the administrative console to complete the following
steps:
Steps for this task
- Open the resource adapter console for the adapter you wish to administer.
On the administrative console:
- In the navigation pane, click This
displays a list of the resource adapters installed.
- Click the name of the WebSphere Adapter that you want to administer. This displays the detail settings page for the adapter.
- Alter desired properties under the General Properties or Additional
Properties headings.
- When you have finished making changes click OK.
- Save your changes to the master configuration.
What to do next
If your changes do not have the expected effect, restart the server
so that it recovers the latest changes to the master configuration.
