Use this task to turn messaging
security on or off.
Messaging security requires that global security is enabled as described
in
Enabling global security. If the application
server is not security enabled,
messaging engine security
will not be enabled.
To turn messaging security on or off,
use the administrative console to complete the following steps:
- In the navigation pane, click .
- In the content pane, click
the bus that you want to enable or disable security for.
- Under General Properties, select or clear
the Secure check box, as appropriate.
- Click OK.
- Save your changes to the master configuration.
When the Secure check box is selected, messaging
security will be enabled when global security is enabled, but will not be
enabled if global security is not enabled. When the Secure check
box is not selected, messaging security is not enabled, regardless of whether
global security is enabled.
Note: When messaging security is switched on, all users
who connect to a bus must have the required authorization permissions to use
the bus resources. For information on how to add users to the roles that contain
these permissions, see
Administering authorization permissions.
If you are using mediated destinations, you must configure mediations to run
securely as described in
Securing mediations.
