Considerations for installing a mediation application

This topic describes what you should consider when installing a mediation application.

A mediation application is an enterprise application (EAR file) that contains a mediation handler enterprise bean project. Installing the EAR file into WebSphere Application Server makes the mediation handler available for use at a destination.

You need to install the EAR file on every server on which you intend the mediation to run, taking into account the following:

If you are installing a mediation application for use when WebSphere security is enabled, you must ensure that the messaging engine can access the mediation. For more information, see Ensuring the message engine can access mediations.
