Resource adapter properties

A resource adapter contains properties such as the adapter ID and logging and tracing options specific to the adapter. You can set the logging and tracing properties using the Adapter Connection wizard during adapter configuration. You can set or change all of the properties using the administrative console.

The following table lists the resource adapter properties and their purpose. A complete description of each property is provided in the sections that follow the table.

Enable HA Support enableHASupport Specifies whether one adapter instance or all adapter instances actively poll for events.
Log file name logFilename Provides the full path of the log file.
Log file size logFileSize Specifies the size of the log files in kilobytes.
Log files logNumberOfFiles Specifies the number of log files.
Trace file name traceFilename Provides the full path to the trace file.
Trace file size traceFileSize Specifies the size of the trace files in kilobytes.
Trace files traceNumberOfFiles Specifies the number of trace files to use.

Adapter ID

This property is the name of the adapter.

Enable HA Support

When the enableHASupport property is set to true, only one of the replicated adapter instances actively polls for events while other instances are in standby mode. If the enableHASupport property is set to false, all of the adapter instances replicated on cluster members actively poll for events.

Restrictions Do not change the value of enableHASupport to false for single server environments. This might result in event duplication.

Log file name

This property is the full path to the log file.

Log file size

This property is the size of the log file. If no value is specified, the file has no maximum size.

Log files

This property is the number of log files to use. When a log file reaches its maximum size, the adapter starts using another log file.
Note: In the administrative console, this property is listed as "logNumberofFiles".
