mqsi_setupdatabase command

Supported platforms

  • Linux and UNIX systems

Purpose

Use the mqsi_setupdatabase command to set up an Oracle database on UNIX systems. Do not run this command for any other supported database.

This command sets up the required database links for the Oracle database that is used within your WebSphere Message Broker environment. You must run the command for both broker and user databases. The command works for a remote database in the same way that it does for a local database.

Run this command after you have installed the Oracle database manager but before you create the broker database. If necessary, though, you can run the command before you install the Oracle database manager as long as you specify the intended database installation directory correctly.

Syntax

Parameters

Database
(Required) The database that you are installing. Possible values are:
  • oracle9
  • oracle10
Database_Home_Directory
(Required) The name of the directory in which the database is (or will be) installed (for example, /usr/lpp/oracle9).

Authorization

The user ID used to run this command must be a member of the mqbrkrs group.
