The Call Handling interface works on a request or response message from a Web client to a Web service application. The implementation includes a database access that manages routing rules. A routing application is a SIP servlet that is required to run in a WebSphere converged HTTP/SIP container. A routing application utilizes persistent rules stored in a centralized database.
The Call Handling Web service is the ability of a Web service to manage a set of routing rules for a URI. When actual calls are routed to this routing application, it validates whether calls are permitted according to rules or re-route to a configured address.
