Representational State Transfer (REST) is an architectural style that outlines how resources are created, accessed, and modified over the Internet using a stateless communication protocol such as HTTP. Telecom Web Services Server (TWSS) version 7.1 adds support for a REST-style gateway that is compliant with OneAPI.
REST is not a technology but a set of principles that makes resources available so that Web applications can access and modify them. You can now expose your core network capabilities as REST-style APIs so that they can be accessed directly from Web applications, using HTTP. Specifically, the GSM Association's OneAPI specification allows both Parlay X Web services and REST-style APIs to access core network capabilities.
OneAPI because it derives from Parlay X, is easily mapped to the existing Parlay X 2.1 Access Gateway flows.
