Control > Change Object Properties (Apex/Summit)The Control > Change Object Properties command changes the properties of one or more objects. When you choose this command, the Change Object Properties dialog box appears.

Change Properties Field
The Change Properties of Objects list field shows the names of objects on which change properties will operate. Use the Add input field to add object names to the list field. Use the Remove and Clear buttons to delete object names from the field.
CMVC State Change Radio Buttons
Different options (shown below) are displayed under Options when each radio button is selected. More information on CM states, operations and version control can be found in the Command Reference.
- No CM Status Change (the default)
No changes are made to the objects configuration management and version control status.
- Place Under CM Control
Puts the objects listed in the change properties list field under CM control.

If an object does not match the latest version in the specified history, choose one of the following options:
- Fail (don't make object controlled).
If the object does not match the latest version, the object is not placed under CM control.
- Create a new version from the object.
If the object does not match the latest version of the object, a new version of the object is created with the current contents of the object.
- Change the object to match the latest existing version.
If the object does not match the latest version, the object is changed to match the latest existing version. The current contents are lost. Note that a new object will be created in the destination history if one did not previously exist.
- History Field
The value default_history will use the containing views default history. Change it to the name of any history to place under CM control.
- Set attribute on controlled versions
If you want to set version attributes on the controlled versions of the objects, click this box. Two fields appear. Type the attribute in the Set Attribute field and the value in the To Value field.
- Tasks for CM Operations Field:
This field specifies the tasks to be associated with the newly controlled object version. Note that this field will be initialized with the current task list. Use the Navigate icon to select a different set of tasks or the Alternatives icon to select a task from your "to do" task list.
- Remove From CM Control
Removes the objects listed in the change properties list field from under CM control.
- Check In
Checks in the objects in the change properties list field.

- Place objects under source control (if needed).
Selecting the checkbox causes any uncontrolled objects encountered to be placed under source control.
- Tasks for CM Operations Field
This field specifies the tasks to be associated with the version of the object being checked in. Note that this field will be initialized with the current task list. Use the Navigate icon to select a different set of tasks or the Alternatives icon to select a task from your "to do" task list.
- Check Out
Checks out the objects in the change properties list field

If the object is not the latest version in its history, the following options are offered:
- Accept latest version and check out
Updates the contents of the object to the latest version before checking it out.
- Make new checked-out version with current contents.
Creates a new version of the object with the current contents before checking it out.
- Fail (the default)
Does not check out the object if the object is not the latest in the history.
Check out check boxes include:
- Place objects under source control (if needed).
If the object is not under source control before check out, it puts it under control.
- Private Check-out
Checks out the objects as a private check out when privately checked out, an object can be edited, but there is no reservation preventing others from checking out the object in another view.
- Upgrade private check-out to full
Promotes a private check out to a full check out. This will fail if someone has already checked out the object.
- Tasks for CM Operations Field
This field specifies the tasks to be associated with the newly created checked out version. Note that this field will be initialized with the current task list. Use the Navigate icon to select a different set of tasks or the Alternatives icon to select a task from your "to do" task list.
Task association is not supported for private check outs.
- Change History
The Change History radio button allows you to alter each object's history

If the object does not match the latest version of the existing history, the following options are given:
- Fail (don't change history) (the default)
Abandons the history change if the object does not match the specified existing history.
- Create new version from object.
Creates a new version of the object with the object's current contents if the object does not match the existing history.
- Change the object to match the latest existing version.
Changes the object to match the latest version in the specified history when the object does not originally match the latest version of the object in the specified history.
- History
Enter the new History name in this field.
- Change Version
Allows you to change the version of each object. Type the new version number in the Version field.
- Change History and Version
Allows you to change the history and version of each object at the same time. Type the new History name in the History field and the new version number in the Version field.
- Add Tasks
Allows you to specify tasks to be associated with the current version of each object. Type the tasks in the Tasks for CM Operations field. Note that this field will be initialized with the current task list. Use the Navigate icon to select a different set of tasks or the Alternatives icon to select a task from your "to do" task list.
- Remove Tasks
Allows you to specify tasks whose associations with the current version of each object are to be removed. Type the tasks in the Tasks for CM Operations field. Note that this field will be initialized with the current task list. Use the Navigate icon to select a different set of tasks or the Alternatives icon to select a task from your "to do" task list.
Add Notes Check Box and Field
Select the Add Notes check box and type text in the note input field.
