File > Exit ApexThe File > Exit Apex command shuts down and exits from Apex. This command is available from all Apex windows. When you invoke this command, the Exit dialog box is displayed:
The top part of the dialog box will either indicate that there are no windows that have unsaved changes in them (as in the example above), or a list of such windows will appear. You can selectively save the changes in any of these windows. If you attempt to exit from Apex and you have any windows with unsaved changes, an autosave file for each unsaved window will be created.
The Save Session part of the Exit dialog lets you save the current set of windows as a session. This session can be reloaded in a subsequent Apex session. If you wish to save the current set of windows, click on the Save Session check box. By default, the session will be saved under the name latest and automatically restored the next time Apex is run. You can save the session under a different name by changing the name in the Save Session field. You can also save the session without automatically causing it to be restored the next time Apex is run by turning off the Restore it when Apex is next run check box.
- To terminate Apex and close all of its windows, click on OK.
- To cancel the exit operation, click on Cancel.
- To display this page of the online reference, click on Help.
To close an individual window without shutting down Apex, use File > Close.
To save the session windows without exiting, use Tools > Session > Save Session.
