Visit Editor (Debugger Window)If you are in Show Source mode and would like to change to Editor mode in which debugger does not show source and relies on an external editor to display the source of the debugged program. select the Visit Editor button on the Toolbar in the Debugger window. You can also select the Navigate > Visit Editor command to display the Language Editor window. A Language Editor window appears.
Using an Apex editor to display source allows you to retain the full capabilities of the editor while you're debugging. For example, you can perform configuration management, compilation, or editing operations during a debugging session. This display mode is called editor mode.
The Apex editors are described in the Programmer's Guide. The Apex debugger is described in Using the Apex Debugger.
