File > New > New FileUse File > New > New File to create a new ASCII text file. The command displays the New File dialog box:
New File Dialog Box Fields:
Name Field
Type in the name of the new file in the input field.
Context Field
Input the name of the directory path for the new file.
New File Check Boxes
- Visit it
Click this check box to open the file in a text-editor window.
- Make it Controlled (Apex/Summit)
Click this check box to make the object controlled through Summit/CM. When you select this box, the Associate Tasks Field appears if you have Rational Summit/TM installed. This field specifies the tasks to be associated with the newly created and controlled task list. The Navigate icon can be used to select a different set of tasks by activating the Select Tasks dialog. The Alternatives icon displays the tasks in your "to do" task list.
- Make it an element (Apex/ClearCase)
Click this check box to make the object a ClearCase element. When this check box is selected, the following additional check boxes and field are displayed.
- Control enclosing subsystem (Apex/ClearCase)
Click this check box to control the enclosing Rational subsystem. All ClearCase elements must be in a controlled Rational Subsystem.
- Note (Apex/ClearCase)
Click this check box to include a note with the control operation. Enter the desired test in the Note: field.
