Using the Select Dialog BoxThe Select dialog box appears when you select Edit > Select. It filters the selection of objects displayed in a viewer.
- 1. . Select filtering options to collect the desired objects.
- 2. . Click on OK or Apply.
You can filter objects in two ways: by name and by Summit/CM status.
Select Check Boxes and Fields
These options filter objects by file and directory names:
Limit To
Selects only the objects that are specified.
Exclude
Excludes all objects that are specified.
The effects of Limit To and Exclude are cumulative. If you limit the display to *.ada and exclude *.2.ada, it hides all non-Ada objects and all Ada bodies.
Text fields have the following conventions:
- An asterisk (*) represents any group of zero or more characters.
- A question mark (?) represents any single character.
- The keywords file and directory restrict the types of objects to which the naming expressions apply.
- A comma (,) separates multiple specifications
Limit Check Box and Field
The following options filter objects based on Summit/CM status or history. They apply only to objects in subsystem views.
- Limit To History
Limits the display to objects in the specified version- history family, such as Common. Enter the desired value in the text-entry field
Select Check Boxes
- Out of Date
Limits display to objects that are out of date.
- Checked Out
Limits display to objects that are controlled and checked out.
- Checked In
Limits display to objects that are controlled and checked in.
- Uncontrolled
Select the previous options based on Summit/CM status. For example, if you select both Checked In and Uncontrolled, the display is limited to objects in those two groups.
Making the Selection
Once you have set the appropriate options, click on OK or Apply.
