Customizing the Button Bar

You can configure the button bar to contain any combination of menu buttons that you use most frequently. The default button set is intended as a starting point. You can perform the following actions on the contents of the button bar:

Menu Button
Action
Add Button
Add a button to the button bar
Remove Button
Remove a button from the button bar
Save Button Bar
Save the current button configuration
Revert Button Bar
Revert to the last-saved button configuration

Buttons appear on the button bar in the order in which they are entered. To impose a specific order of appearance, you may first have to remove some of the existing buttons.

Button-bar customization affects each class of window separately. For example, you can have different button configurations in the directory-viewer, text-editor, and language-editor windows.

In some windows, the button bar is hidden in the default configuration. To expose the button bar, use the sash.
