You can specify objects using either of the following strategies:

When you specify an object by selecting it with the mouth, the debugger performs only the action in the second bullet (global scope).

Some commands require objects to be selected, such as the Debug > Show... command. The Debug > Show... command resolves the selected object to be the same class of expression allowed in the Expression field of the Show Data dialog box. Some commands require debugger pathnames, such as the Breakpoints > New command in the Breakpoints window.
