Activity (Trace)

This command is only available for Apex Ada and Apex Duo.

The Activity chart shows the amount of load against time. Load can be shown either as the number of process in action simultaneously (parallelism) or as a histogram showing the percentage of available processes in action in each bin.

Neither of these graphs shows times of preemption by the underlying OS. For example, if a task performs Text_Io on a Unix System, the whole I/O time will show as time in execution. Similarly time slice preemption will not show. On a cross target, the graphs are more likely to show a realistic picture.

Pressing and dragging the left mouse button in the graphics area selects an area. Releasing the button brings up a Raw Trace display containing all events that occurred within the selected area.

Pressing the middle mouse button in the graphics area activates the crosshair.

Pressing and dragging the right mouse button in the graphics area selects a zoom area. Releasing the button enlarges the selected area to fill the graph.

See the Tasking Logic Analyzer Guide for more information on the Activity chart.
