View > Format > Version AttributesApex/ClearCase
For Apex/ClearCase, the View > Format > Version Attributes command displays attributes attached to this version of the selected element(s).
Apex/Summit
For Apex/Summit, the View > Format > Version Attributes command displays Summit/CM extended version attributes for the current versions of selected objects in the viewer window. If no objects are selected, the command affects the display of each object visible in the viewer.
Extended version attributes are user-defined attributes associated with versions. The extended attributes displayed may be selected by the environment variable APEX_DISPLAY_VERSION_ATTRIBUTES. This environment variable must contain a space-separated list of extended attribute names. The attribute values are displayed in the same order as the names. When an attribute has no value for a version, this is indicated by a hyphen ("-"). If no attributes are specified by the APEX_DISPLAY_VERSION_ATTRIBUTES environment variable, the attributes defined by the enclosing subsystem (if any) are displayed (ordered by attribute names). If the subsystem defines no attributes, then the attributes defined via the APEX_VERSION_ATTRIBUTES_KEY (if any) are displayed.
To use the command, select zero or more objects and then select View > Format > Version Attributes. The Version Attributes display looks like this:
![]()
assuming three existing attributes have been designated, for example:
setenv APEX_DISPLAY_VERSION_ATTRIBUTE "Person Status Phase"
The following table contains information about the fields in the display:
Field Description
Object name Shows the object's simple name
Extended attribute values Shows the value of each selected attribute in the specified order. A hyphen ("–") indicates no value is present.
Extended version attributes are described in detail in Using and Customizing Summit/CM.
