User-Specific Program-State Files

Creating a User-Specific Program-State File

If more than one user is debugging the same executable, each user can customize his/her individual debugging defaults for that executable by saving the desired state to the user-specific program-state file using the File > Debugger State > Save command:

1. . Select the Read_Program_State option in the Debugger Options dialog box by executing the View > Options command.

2. . Begin debugging the program. The current program-state file is read if it exists.

3. . Set the debugger state to reflect the desired exception requests, breakpoints, debugger variables, macro definitions, and debugger options for your personal use.

4. . Select Save_Exceptions, Save_Breakpoints, and Save_Options in the Debugger Options dialog box by executing the View > Options command or select the appropriate entries in the Debugger State > Save command.

5. . Save the state to the user-specific program-state file using the Debugger State > Save command.

Using a User-Specific Program-State File

When you start debugging a program, the user-specific program-state file is read according to the algorithm described in Processing State Files.
