Compile > Show > Demotion ImpactNote: This command is only available with the Apex Ada and Apex Duo products.
The Compile > Show > Demotion Impact command shows the minimum impact on other units if you demote (change the compilation state) of the unit in question. The minimum impact is Source or Installed, depending on the use of the demoted object. Another object would go to Source if it directly sees or WITH's the demoted object. Another object would go to Installed if it indirectly sees the demoted object due to an inline of some nature.
This command brings up the Demotion Impact dialog box. Note that this command is not defined for C++ objects.

Name or File Field
In the Name or File field, enter the name of the unit for which you want to see the demotion impact.
Context Field
If you use wildcards to specify a single unit or multiple units, use the Context field to specify where to look for units that match the pattern specified in the Name field.
Scope Field
Use the Scope field to specify the units, directories or views to consider when showing what units would be affected by demoting the unit or units specified in the Name field. Use the Add, Remove, and Clear buttons to add or remove object names.
Import Closure Check Box
- Select the Use import closure for views from scope check box to expand the search to include any units in the import closure of the views specified in the Scope field.
