File > New > Configuration (Apex/Summit)

To create a configuration, select File > New > New Configuration from the directory file menu.

Configurations provide a way to group together views from different subsystems. For example, a system release is often constructed by creating a configuration which includes release views from each of the component subsystems. Configurations are also used to specify the closure when main programs are to be linked. The contents of a configuration are either the fully qualified names of views or the fully qualified names of other configurations. Configurations are text files.

New Configuration Dialog Box Fields:

Enter the name of the new configuration in the name field.

Context Field

Associate Tasks Field (Rational Summit/TM)

This field appears only when the Make it controlled check box is set. It specifies the tasks to be associated with the newly created and controlled file. It is initialized with the current task list. The Navigate icon can be used to select a different set of tasks by activating the Select Tasks dialog. The Alternatives icon displays the tasks in your "to do" task list.
