Control > Object Properties (Apex/Summit)The Control > Object Properties command displays and changes properties of a specific object. When you choose this command, the Object Properties dialog box appears.
Object Properties Dialog Box Fields:
Object Name Field
The Object Name field displays the name of the desired object when it comes up. If you want a different object, change the object name and press Reset.
Current Property Values Label
This label shows the current property values of the object shown in the Object Name field.
New Property Values
- Controlled check box
Changes the property of the object in the Object Name field to be controlled or uncontrolled.
- History field
Specify a new history to be used.
- Version field
New Property Values Radio Buttons
- Check In
If the Controlled and the Checked In check box are selected together, the following additional options are displayed:
- If object does not match latest in history:
- Create new version from object
- Change object to match latest existing version
- Fail
These fields are described in Control > Change Object Properties (Apex/Summit).
- Associate Tasks Field (Rational Summit/TM only)
This field appears only when changing an uncontrolled object to a controlled object or changing the "checked in/out" state of a controlled object. It specifies the tasks to be associated with the newly controlled or checked in/out object version. It is initialized with the current task list. The Navigate icon can be used to select a different set of tasks by activating the Select Tasks dialog. The Alternatives icon displays the tasks in your "to do" task list.
- Checked Out
Check out the named object with a reservation. When this button is selected, the Controlled button is automatically selected and the following additional options are displayed These fields are described in Control > Change Object Properties (Apex/Summit).
- If object is latest:
- Check out latest version of object
- Keep current contents of object
- Fail
- If object does not match latest in history:
- Create new version from object
- Change object to match latest existing version
- Fail

- Private Checked Out
Check out the named object privately. The same options appear as above. Additional information on private check outs is available in More on Private Check Out (Apex/Summit).
Add Notes Check Box and Field
- Enter note text in the Notes input field and click the Add Notes checkbox to add comments to the current object's notes.
Notes Button
Use the Notes button to view the notes of the object. The Show Notes dialog box appears. This dialog box is described in Control > Show > Notes (Apex/Summit).
