Compile > Analyze

Note: This command is only available for Apex Ada and Apex Duo.

The Compile > Analyze command performs a semantic analysis on the current selection. If the analysis is successful, the units advance to the installed compilation state. Note that this command is not defined for C++ objects.

The Analyze dialog box is displayed by selecting the Analyze icon from the top or side toolbars.

The Analyze dialog box appears when you select the command from a viewer window. If you select the command from an editor window, it analyzes the current unit using the Analyze dialog box defaults. To force the dialog box to appear from an editor window, press Control —— Compile > Analyze.

Analyze Dialog Box Fields:

Analyze Field

If you name a view or directory in the Analyze list field, the command analyzes all contained program units. Use the Add input field to add file names. Use the Remove button to delete entries from the Analyze field. To remove all entries, use the Clear button.

Radio Buttons

The three radio buttons in the Analyze dialog box specify the compilation closure to be analyzed:

Stop check box

The Stop when the first error is found check box stops the unit analysis at the first unit containing an error. If this check box is not selected (the default), the command analyzes all units in the specified closure and returns any errors.

Options Field

Use the Options field to specify any command-line compiler switches.

Command Line Interface: analyze
