Using Autosave Files

Periodically (every five minutes, by default), the current text or image you are working on is saved in an autosave file. This autosave file serves as a backup and contains any changes made to the file since the last time you manually saved it.

Normally, autosave files are not visible to you unless you terminate the editor ungracefully or select File:Exit without saving a changed file. The next time you start a new session and open the file, a dialog box appears with the following message:

Click on Yes to use the contents stored in the autosave file instead of the last-saved version.

Click on No to use the contents of the last-saved version. The autosave file still exists until you save the file.

Autosave files are deleted when you save the file or revert the file to the last-saved version.
