File > NewThe File > New command creates a new object within the current context. You can create subsystems, views, files, directories, objects, version-history families (histories), export sets and configurations. To create an object, you must specify its context, type, and name. Note that the exact list of entries on the New menu depends on the variant of Apex you are running.
The context is the pathname of the directory in which to create the new object. By default, the Context field displays the current directory. In the Name field, enter the object's simple name. The default object type displayed in the option menu depends on the context.
