Command Options

Many Apex switches are also available as UNIX command options. These commands must be executed from an Apex xterm window. When a session switch is used as a command option, the APEX_ prefix is dropped. For switches that are boolean, include the switch name to set the option to True; omit the switch name to set the option to False. For switches that take on values, use the -option value format.

Options listed for each command are describedin the Command Reference document.

For example, if you are going to copy files while abandoning any checked-out file and setting a new history file, you need these three switches:

APEX_ABANDON

APEX_NEW_ HISTORY

APEX_SET_HISTORY

The command is:

copy -abandon -set_history -new_history my_history sources destination

More information is also available on command options in the manual page of the corresponding command. For the above example, if you enter:

from an Apex xterm, information on the copy command and all its options will be displayed.
