Using Viewer Windows

Viewer windows display a variety of information about Apex. The directory viewer, for example, helps you navigate through the UNIX directory structure and provides access to the various operations available in Apex. Here are some basic features of viewer windows:

Feature
Purpose
Menu bar
Contains pull-down menus. To expose a menu, point to a menu name and press the left mouse button.
Button bar
Contains conveniently accessible buttons that have the same effect as certain buttons on the pull-down menus. To invoke a command, point to the button and click the left mouse button. You can configure the contents of the button bar yourself.
Sash
Provides more area for the button bar at the expense of the display area, or vice versa. To move the sash, point to it, press the left mouse button, and drag up or down.

The Apex GUI is described in detail in Using and Customizing the GUI.
