Compile > Show > Demotion Impact

Note: This command is only available with the Apex Ada and Apex Duo products.

The Compile > Show > Demotion Impact command shows the minimum impact on other units if you demote (change the compilation state) of the unit in question. The minimum impact is Source or Installed, depending on the use of the demoted object. Another object would go to Source if it directly sees or WITH's the demoted object. Another object would go to Installed if it indirectly sees the demoted object due to an inline of some nature.

This command brings up the Demotion Impact dialog box. Note that this command is not defined for C++ objects.

Name or File Field

In the Name or File field, enter the name of the unit for which you want to see the demotion impact.

Context Field

If you use wildcards to specify a single unit or multiple units, use the Context field to specify where to look for units that match the pattern specified in the Name field.

Scope Field

Use the Scope field to specify the units, directories or views to consider when showing what units would be affected by demoting the unit or units specified in the Name field. Use the Add, Remove, and Clear buttons to add or remove object names.
