X ResourcesX applications are customizable using X-resources. For more information on X-resources, please see a User's Guide for the X Window System.
The complete name of every Rational resource begins with Rational.editorName.windowType or Rational.editorName.windowKind.windowType, where:
- editorName denotes a kind of Rational window, such as:
- ada (for Ada unit)
- directory (for filesystem directories)
- windowKind for editors that support multiple window kinds, such as
- directory.imports
- text.version
- windowType denotes a kind of Motif window, such as:
- mainWindow
- dialogBox
Consequently, a name that begins with Rational* affects all Rational windows, and a name that begins with Rational.ada affects only Rational ada editor windows. For specific editors (such as Text), specify Rational.editor instead of just Rational; for example Rational.text for text windows.
For example, to set the background color every dialog box displayed by the Ada debugger to IndianRed, your would include the following line in the app-default file:
Rational.adaDebugger*.dialogBox*background: IndianRed
See the Rational file in the standard app-defaults directory ($APEX_HOME/app_defaults) for current values and sample format. The app-default file used depends on the apexinit command options and the type of monitor being used
