Using the Filter Dialog Box

The Filter dialog box appears when you select View > Filter > Filter.

It filters the objects displayed in a viewer.

To use the Filter dialog box:

1. . Select filtering options to collect the desired objects

2. . Click on OK or Apply.

This action changes only the display of objects in the viewer. It does not affect the actual objects represented by the display.

You can filter objects in two ways: by name and by CM status (either Summit/CM or ClearCase, whichever you are running).

Filtering Objects by Name Check Boxes and Fields

These options filter objects by file and directory names:

The effects of Limit To and Exclude are cumulative.

Text fields have the following conventions:

This string causes the following objects to be excluded:

You can not filter the current (.) or enclosing (..) directory.

Filtering by CMVC Attributes Check Boxes and Field (Apex/Summit)

The following options filter objects based on Summit/CM status or history. They apply only to objects in subsystem views.

Select the following options based on Summit/CM status. For example, if you select both Checked In and Uncontrolled, the display is limited to objects in those two groups.

Filtering by ClearCase Attributes Check Boxes (Apex/ClearCase)

The following options filter objects based on ClearCase status.
