Control > Show > Notes (Apex/Summit)

The Control > Show > Notes command displays in an Output window any notes associated with a particular version. This command brings up the Show Notes dialog box.

Show Notes Dialog Box Fields:

Show notes of objects

This form specifies the versions whose notes are to be displayed. There are three radio buttons that select alternate ways to identify the versions:

Filename
The pathname of a single file is specified. A range of versions within the current history for that file may be specified.
Element
A single element name is specified. (See Version and Element Names.) A range of versions within the indicated history for the element may be specified.
Versions
One or more full version names are specified. (See Version and Element Names.) A version number may be specified or "*" may be specified to indicate all versions of the element in the specified history.

First Version Field

Specifies the first version in the range of versions for which to show associated notes. The default is the first version.

Last Version Field

Specifies the last version in the range of versions for which to show associated notes. The default is the last version.

The notes are displayed in a read-only Output window.

Several version-control operations, such as Control > Check In (Apex/Summit) and Control > Object Properties (Apex/Summit), provide fields in dialog boxes for adding notes to a version. You can add notes to an existing version with the Control > Add Notes (Apex/Summit) command.

Notes are described in more detail in Using and Customizing Summit/CM.
