More on Accepting Changes (Apex/Summit)

The Control > Update Objects (Apex/Summit) and Into commands are similar to executing File > Copy Object on the objects in a view. Control > Update Objects and Into, however, support integration and baselining for subsystems that are being developed using multiple views.

Control > Update Objects make it possible for a developer working in one view to update corresponding objects being developed in another view without having to manually delete each out-of-date object and copy the new version of the object.

Control > Update Objects can create files in the destination that exist in the source. These files contain the same version number, history, and import information as the source files.

When a new file is created, its history is that of the source file. When a destination file is updated to a deleted version, the destination file is removed from the file system.

Accepting Changes from a Corresponding Source File

To update a destination file from a corresponding source file with Control > Update Objects (Apex/Summit), the following conditions must be met:

More information on accepting changes can be found in the Command Reference.
