Tools > TraceThis command is only available for Apex Ada and Apex Duo.
The Tools > Trace command enables you to invoke the Apex Tasking Logic Analyzer (Trace). The Tasking Logic Analyzer allows the Apex Ada programmer to trace task execution and analyze it using saved event files or, by using the debugger, to examine the most recent events. The Trace dialog box is displayed.
Trace Dialog Box Fields:
Executable
Filename or pathname of the program's load module.
Log File
Name of the log file into which events are to be logged. This log file is a common event buffer. When the buffer fills, it is filled from the start again (that is, it is treated as a circular buffer). You can browse these events from the debugger.
Output
Tracing information can be saved either in textual files or passed to apex_trace_driver for graphical display on an X-terminal. Select Textual to output the trace file as readable text with most numerical fields interpreted in a source-oriented format. Select Graphical to display tasking events graphically. The Textual and Graphical outputs are described in detail in the Tasking Logic Analyzer Guide.
Time Range
If you want to restrict analysis to events occurring during a specific time period, enter the starting and ending times in this area. Note that the entered times must be in float format.
The Tasking Logic Analyzer is described in detail in the Tasking Logic Analyzer Guide.
