Process Bargraph (Trace)

This command is only available for Apex Ada and Apex Duo.

This chart plots tasks in execution on processes against time. Unless you are using the Multi-Processor (MP) runtime, you will see only a single band for process 0. The task colors can be interpreted from the task timeline chart or from the Options|Task Coloring Dialog.

You can change the coloring method if your run involved more than one process. Using the Process Coloring Dialog, you can assign a color for each process and see the movement of process assignments on the related Task Timeline Chart.

Note that the only gaps showing on a single process bargraph correspond to time in the idle task. The tracing system knows nothing about OS preemption of processes (for example, during I/O or for time slicing) so the presence of two events at two times forces the assumption that the process executed a task for all that time. This assumption is more likely to be true on Cross target systems (that do not do Cross_Io).

Pressing and ragging the left mouse button in the graphics area selects an area. Releasing the button brings up a Raw Trace display containing all events that occurred within the selected area.

Pressing the middle mouse button in the graphics area activates the crosshair.

Pressing and dragging the right mouse button in the graphics area selects a zoom area. Releasing the button enlarges the selected area to fill the graph.

The Tasking Logic Analyzer is described in detail in the Tasking Logic Analyzer Guide.
