View > Sort > By KindThe View > Sort > By Kind command causes selected objects in the current viewer to be sorted by object kind, if known. The subordinate sorting order is alphabetical, names beginning with capital letters first. If no directories are selected, the command affects the display of each object visible in the viewer. Nested objects remain displayed beneath their respective directories.
The object kinds used for sorting do not appear unless you change the display using View > Format > With Kind.
To use the command, select zero or more directories and then select View > Sort > By Kind. The display looks like this:
