Navigate > Enclosing Unit In Place

The Navigate > Enclosing Unit In Place command opens a window on the enclosing context of the current object, replacing the current window. For most objects, the enclosing context is a directory. If the window is already open, the command raises the enclosing window but does not remove the old window. Enclosing Unit In Place is successful only if the enclosing context is of the same type, as in replacing a directory with its parent directory. There are two such uses:

Window
Action
Ada or C editor
If an Ada or C editor is open on a subunit, replaces it with the enclosing unit.
Directory viewer
Replaces existing directory-viewer display with the enclosing directory.

All other attempts to use Enclosing Unit In Place display the enclosing context in a separate window. This is the same as using Navigate > Enclosing.
