View Structure (Apex/Summit)There are two classes of views: working views and release views. Working views provide areas in which individual developers can do day-to-day work and areas in which to integrate changes. You can create release views to represent versions of a subsystem at various stages in development.
Each view you create contains the following objects:
- .Rational/
A directory containing view-specific implementation objects managed by Apex.
In particular, this directory contains the version-control state associated with the view as well as information related to the importing and compilation mechanisms.
- .Rational_Location/
A symbolic link that contains the permanent name of the view.
Caution: The .Rational directory and .Rational_Location link contain implementation information that you should not modify. Doing so can corrupt data.
- Exports/
A directory containing user files that are part of the export operations.
- Imports/
A directory containing user files that are part of the import operations.
- Policy/
A directory containing view-specific policy information.
- Policy/Switches
A file of switches that control operations in the view.
Views are described in more detail in the Concepts Guide.
