Tools > Subsystems, Views and Code Generation

Note: When both Rose/Ada and Rose/C++ are installed, there is an additional level to this command that designates Ada or C++.

The Tools > Subsystems, Views and Code Generation command creates Apex directories, subsystems, views, and source files for the current model in the Rose window. It also creates imports among the Apex views to reflect the dependencies among the packages of a Rose diagram. This command is only available with the Rose Developer and Rose layered products.

1. . Select the class categories in the Rose diagram for this operation.

2. . Click on Tools > Subsystems, Views and Code Generation.

This command lists the objects to be created in the Rose Log window and the Apex Message Window, and brings up a dialog that summarizes the directories, subsystems, and imports to be created in Apex.

3. . Click on the Yes button in the dialog to proceed the generation.

If any new Apex view(s) need to be created, a File > New > New View (Apex/Summit) dialog will be brought up for each new view. Once the user clicks on the OK button, the generation will continue.

If the source file(s) to be generated already exist, and the file(s) are controlled and checked in, a Control > Check Out (Apex/Summit) dialog will be brought up. The user can select the file(s) to be checked out, and click on the OK button to resume the generation. Any file(s) that are not writeable will not be overridden.

If the source file(s) to be generated do not exist, a Control > Check Out (Apex/Summit) dialog will be brought up. The user can select the file(s) to be controlled and checked out.

Rose Developer is described in the Rose Developer's User's Guide.
