Selecting Objects in the Display Area

When you move the pointer into a viewer's display area, a location cursor appears at the current location. By default, it takes the form of a box around the object.

Selecting Objects

Select an object by clicking on it with the left mouse button.

Alternately, use the (up arrow) and (down arrow) keys to move the location cursor.

When you move the location cursor using the cursor keys, the current object is selected. The selected object is highlighted,

Selecting Multiple Objects

To select multiple objects in a view, click on the first object, hold down the left mouse button, and drag down the list.

Alternately, you can select multiple objects by holding down the Shift key and using the (up arrow) and (down arrow) keys to move the location cursor.

Selecting Multiple Non-Contiguous Objects

To select multiple objects that are not listed together, click on the first object with the left mouse button, hold down the Control key and click on the other desired objects.

Alternately, select your first object and press Shift —— F8 and the space bar, use the (up arrow) and (down arrow) keys to move the location cursor to the next desired object and press the space bar to select. Repeat as needed. Press Shift —— F8 again to exit this selection mode.

Deselecting Objects from a Multiple Object List

When you select a list of objects and do not wish to include some of them in your operation, you can deselect those specific objects by holding down the Control key and clicking on the objects you want to deselect.

Alternately, select your list of objects and press Shift —— F8. Use the (up arrow) and (down arrow) keys to move the location cursor to the object you want to deselect and press the space bar. Repeat as needed. Press Shift —— F8 again to exit this deselection mode.
