Online Help Overview

The Apex online help system is provided in HTML. A browser is provided with Apex and is used if no other browser is found on your path. The switch, APEX_HELP_BROWSER, can be used to specify a different browser to be used.

Unless otherwise instructed, Apex will attempt to use an existing active browser. It will continue to use this browser for the duration of the Apex session or until the browser is closed or an error occurs. To force Apex to start a new browser, set the APEX_HELP_BROWSER_PRIVATE switch to True. After that, the same window is reused unless otherwise requested as described in Opening Multiple Help Windows.

A complete description of the Apex/Netscape interface can be found in Getting Started.

Use the navigation bar at the top of each online help document to move around the online help system. This navigation bar provides the ability to go forward, back, to the document table of contents or index, as well as to the master index and a list of all the available online manuals (List of Documents). Display the version number using the Version button. To display the copyright information, select Copyright at the end of each document.
