If you already have DOORS, the version that you have (i.e. whether it is patched or unpatched) does not affect the way in which DOORS 9.1 is installed. In all cases DOORS 9.1 is installed into a new directory named DOORS 9.1 by default, and after successful installation your current version of DOORS remains on your system.
You cannot install DOORS 9.1 into the same directory as your current DOORS installation. If you try to do this the installation will fail.

If you already have a DOORS Training Database for a previous version of DOORS installed on your machine, remove it before you install the DOORS 9.1 Example Data.

If this is your first installation of DOORS, you need to obtain a license from Telelogic. You also need to install version 1.3, 1.4 or 1.5 of the Telelogic License Server.

If you are already running DOORS, the action you need to take depends on the version of DOORS you are running, and whether you have a valid maintenance agreement:

When the patch is installed, if you subsequently use the master CD to install another Telelogic product, the integrations that enable the transfer of information between DOORS and that product aren't automatically installed. If you want to use an integration with another Telelogic product you must install the integration manually. You can either install the integration individually from the CD, or you can download it from our website at http://support.telelogic.com.
You can apply this patch to DOORS 9.1 or DOORS 9.0. You can also install this patch on a machine where DOORS has not previously been installed.

On one customer's site it took up to four minutes to open the properties sheet for any item in the database when using the Telelogic Directory Server. This has been fixed.

DOORS no longer crashes if you apply a filter to a module, print module statistics then open the filter dialog.

Information in traceability columns and other Layout DXL columns now displays continuously when you scroll through the module. There are no interruptions to the display of the information during scrolling as the content is actively displayed.
Patch 9.1.0.2 is a client patch for DOORS 9.1 on Windows and a server patch for DOORS 9.1 on all platforms.
This patch can be applied if you have previously installed DOORS 9.0 or DOORS 9.1, or if you have not
installed DOORS on your computer before.

Installing the server patch
To install the DOORS server patch, follow the instructions in the appropriate section of the DOORS Installation Guide.

There may be some languages supplied with the spelling checker, for example Russian that don't supply alternative text when errors are detected during a spelling check.
When you set up the options for checking spelling in certain languages a Modes panel is displayed on the Options dialog box. In some languages the modes that are available are meaningless. For example, if the selected language is Russian, the modes Je and Jo are displayed.
These issues are a result of limitations in the third party software used by DOORS to provide spelling checker capabilities.
DOORS doesn't support hidden text. For example, if you copy text including hidden text from Microsoft Word and paste it into a DOORS module, the text that is displayed in the module explorer is different to that displayed in the object.
View inheritance settings aren't preserved correctly when DOORS 8.1 partitions are imported or exported by DOORS 8.0 clients.
