If you answer yes or take the default at this prompt, and if the machine needs to be rebooted, it will be rebooted without asking for further confirmation. If you do not want to reboot at this time, answer no and run install_release when it is more convenient to reboot.
All patches to ClearCase Release 3.0 include a fix that adds the following confirmation dialogue in such cases:
Is it still OK to continue and possibly reboot the system being installed? [yes]:install_release uses the interactive portion of the install to gather information that is then compared with any existing ClearCase installation on the system. If, after the interactive portion is completed, install_release determines that the MVFS must be replaced, it means that the system must be rebooted. Thus, we present the warning that installation may require a reboot of the system.
"Third-party automounters are not supported on any platform."
This statement appears under "Supported File Systems" in the "READ ME FIRST" chapter along with complete information on file systems supported by ClearCase.
The mention of the AMD automounter in the ClearCase Installation and Release Notes for Release 2.1 should not be taken to imply that the AMD automounter freeware is supported. This is not the case. Rational does not support the AMD automounter or any other third-party automounter. We support only vendor-supplied automounters.
