Withdrawing Patches to Avoid Problem with Multiple DO Storage Pools

Rational Software has withdrawn the following patches because a fix for defect number 33906 can result in a ClearCase malfunction for sites that have multiple DO storage pools:

• clearcase_p3.2.1-17
• clearcase_p3.2.1-18
• clearcase_p3.2-49
• clearcase_p3.2-51

The new patches that fix this problem are:

• clearcase_p3.2.1-21
• clearcase_p3.2-52

Defect 33906 Description

When processing derived object storage pools, the scrubber was deleting all unreferenced derived objects without regard to the access time for each derived object. This resulted in the removal of DOs whose access times were within the limit specified by the age parameter of the storage pool.

How to Proceed

If you have installed these patches and do not have multiple DO storage pools, no action is necessary.

If you have multiple DO storage pools per VOB, please remove these patches (if installed):

• clearcase_p3.2.1-17
• clearcase_p3.2.1-18
• clearcase_p3.2-49
• clearcase_p3.2-51

and install these patches to fix the problem:

• clearcase_p3.2.1-21
• clearcase_p3.2-52

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. During the in-house testing and deployment that was done prior to publishing these patches, we did not encounter the error, even though we have multiple DO pools.
