Fix for AIX 4.3.2 & AIX 4.3.3 Performance Degradation

IBM and Rational have worked on this problem together. IBM has created APAR IY05834 to solve this problem and is in the process of making this generally available. Customers experiencing the problem discussed in thisTechnical Bulletin should call IBM support and request APAR IY05834.

Degradation in ClearCase Performance After Installing AIX 4.3.2

Some users running ClearCase Release 3.2.1 who have upgraded their operating system to AIX 4.3.2 have reported a serious degradation in ClearCase performance after the upgrade.

We are actively working with IBM engineers to resolve the problem. Rational Software is tracking this AIX problem as defect 36911; IBM is tracking this as IBM PMR 22809. As soon as we have a resolution to this problem, we will update this Technical Bulletin and notify the user community.

While we are working on the resolution, you should revert your operating system back to AIX 4.3.1 to regain your normal performance.
