Schemas With Names That Contain Japanese Characters Can Cause Replica Divergence When Deleted

IBM Rational has identified a problem that can cause replica divergence in ClearQuest MultiSite 2003.06.00 when both of the following are true:

The deletion succeeds at the master replica but fails at other replicas with the message “Error: Found string data that was not in the local code page.” When a schema deletion that succeeds in the master replica fails at other replicas, replica divergence occurs.

IBM Rational is investigating the problem, which is logged as defect RATLC00696741, and will distribute the necessary fixes in a ClearQuest patch as soon as possible. Until that patch is available, IBM Rational recommends that you do not delete any schemas whose names include Japanese characters if you are using ClearQuest MultiSite 2003.06.00 Code Page 932. If you are using ClearQuest MultiSite 2003.06.00 Code Page 932 and have deleted one or more schemas, contact Rational Customer Support.
