Installing ObjecTime on stand-alone workstation

To create a dummy IP address for those users who have a standalone workstation, the following files must be updated in the etc directory (Tested only on sun workstations).

Change the hosts file to include a dummy IP address (eg.

  127.0.0.1       localhost       loghost
  151.1.1.1       otl5

(Note 127.0.0.1 should already be present, do not add anything to the first line!!).

The nodename file should contain the name of the machine, eg.

  otl5

The hostname.le0 file should also contain the name of the host, eg.

  otl5

After this, have the user reboot their system with the following commands:

  /etc/halt
  
  boot -s

Everything should be ok now.
