Deciding Whether Your Replicas Will Be Ownership-preserving

• They probably won’t be!

• To be ownership-preserving, they:

  • Must be in the same domain, if NT-only
  • Must have the same UIDs and GIDs if Unix-only

• Can not be ownership preserving if there are both NT & Unix servers

• There is only one ownership-preserving subset of replicas in a family
