Scope

The fixes described in this document are applicable to Rational PurifyPlus, Rational Purify, Rational Quantify and Rational PureCoverage version 2002.05.20.

Please ensure that each of these products has already been upgraded to release 2002.05.20 before applying the service release.

Hardware/Software Information

This service release applies to systems running the Microsoft Windows 2000 Operating System.

Getting Started

Recent upgrades to Windows 2000, including Service Pack 3, have resulted in Purify, Quantify, and PureCoverage ceasing to work properly when run from within the Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 integrated development environment (IDE). If you see the following error message when trying to engage Purify, Quantify, and/or PureCoverage within Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0, you should install this Service Release.

Incompatible dlls prevent us from running in the VS shell.
You may run the product standalone.
Please contact technical support.

Installation Information

Download PurifyPlusforWindowsPatch.2002.05.20.468.016.zip to your computer.
Extract the contents into the IDE directory of your Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 installation. This will typically be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\bin\IDE. See Files changed by this release for a list of files and the products to which they apply.

This release will update the Visual Studio package files for each of Purify, Quantify and PureCoverage.
