Rational Rose Tutorial Read Me File

The Rational Rose for Windows tutorial is distributed as 
a self extracting archive file that is meant to be placed 
on the hard drive of the machine that Rose 2000 is installed on.  

The filename is RoseTutorialFiles.exe and is located 
on the Rational Solutions for Windows Online Documentation CD 
in the \RationalRose\Tutorials\Rose2000 directory.  
This file is approximately 4MB in size. When extracted, it 
requires approximately 28MB of free disk space. 

To extract the files and place them on your hard drive, 
simply run the program from the CD. The default location is 
C:\RoseTutorial.  

You may change the default directory or drive, however it is 
recommended that these files be placed on a hard drive 
(not a network drive) and high in the directory hierarchy, 
since part of the tutorial requires the directory 
location to be referenced in several model settings.

This tutorial contains a complete working application.  
Working with the source code requires Microsoft Visual Basic 6 
and Microsoft Visual C++ 6.  

To run the application a Microsoft Access 97 ODBC driver must
be installed (usually installed with Visual Basic, Visual C++ 
or Microsoft Office 97).  

In addition to creating an ODBC connection on your machine, 
running the tutorial requires a number of ActiveX DLLs to 
be registered on the tutorial machine (detailed in the tutorial).

Note:  For best viewing of the tutorial, set your display's Color 
Palette to True Color or the highest number of colors possible 
(click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings).
