4.0 Problems and workarounds

This section describes problems and workarounds specific to this fix pack.

4.1 Combo box recording is not supported in IE 7

Combo box recording is not supported in IE 7. For example, in a Gender combo box if the option, "Female" is selected, the script is recorded as follows:

ComboBox Click, "Name=Gender", ""
Window SetContext, "Class=Internet Explorer_Server", "Activate=0"
Window Click, "", "Coords=55,23"

Instead of getting recorded as follows:

ComboBox Click, "Name=Gender", ""
ComboListBox Click, "Label=Gender:", "Text=Female"

Workaround: In the recorded script, manually type ComboListBox Click , "Action", "recognition method", "parameters". For more information, see ComboxListBox help topic in the Rational Robot Help.

4.2 List box recording is not supported in IE 7

List box recording is not supported in IE 7. List box click generates the following comment - WARNING: Unable to record Mouse Click.

Workaround: In the recorded script, manually type ListBox action%, recMethod$, parameters$
For example, ListBox Click, "Name=Gender", "Text=Female". For more information, see ListBox help topic in the Rational Robot Help.

4.3 Some of the browser commands do not playback in IE 7

The browser commands such as Browser Back, Browser Refresh, Browser Forward, and Browser Stoploading do not playback in IE7.

Workaround: To playback the browser commands scripted in IE 6 such as Browser Back and Browser Forward, pause the playback at that command, record Back or Forward actions by right-clicking and selecting Back or Forward from the pop-up menu options. On IE 7, record Back or Forward actions by right-clicking and selecting Back or Forward from the pop-up menu options.
