Telelogic inform me that DOORS is not supported on 64-bit Windows systems.
I have tried it and it seems to work, but I have not tested it thoroughly. Is anyone out there running doors on a 64-bit windows machine, client or server? Also, does anyone have any idea what the implications/issues might be with 64-bit machines? ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com |

Tony,
I am not running DOORS on a 64-bit machine, so take this with a grain of salt. However, I think Telelogic is just protecting themselves. Chances are there aren't many issues. You're more likely to see issues with really obscure software or maybe some games. However, in case there is an issue, Telelogic can give themselves an out. My guess is that it'll run just fine, though, as you seem to be noticing. ------------------------- Kevin Murphy http://www.baselinesinc.com The Requirements Management Experts |

I have been running DOORS 7.1 and DOORS 8.1 on Windows Server 2003 Standard 64 bit for the last 2 years. The client is only running on the machine and the server is actually a Solaris box. I have seen no issues at all.
I agree with Kevin's comment here in that Telelogic says it is not "supported" because they haven't officially tested it. Let me know if you want any further information Tony. ------------------------- pete.kowalski(at)motorola.com |

Tony, here is a previous 64 bit topic that was posted last year on the forum.
