I have a project that contains several related modules that are linked together. Does anyone know of a way to export ALL modules that are linked together into one Word document?

I put off answering this, hoping someone else had a solution they might be able to share.
I don't know of an 'off the shelf' solution but we have created a custom exporter that will export multiple modules. We export a Main module to a document in book format. This main module contains an object attribute that I populate with a module name (name of module to insert) at any chosen position in the main document. Each module is inserted into the document just after the object that contains the Module name attribute. Since DOORs tables are so... well... you know... BAD, I created this output scheme primarily as a way to create manageable requirement 'tables' but we continue to find other uses. All of my 'tables' are now constructed as multi attribute modules which makes them very flexible. (We rarely use actual 'DOORs Tables' and never for actual requirements, as it's very hard to show traceability in DOORs tables) The final output in Word reads like a book formatted document sprinkled with tables (each created from it's own module) I wish I could share the actual code but it has also been heavily customized for other purposes in many areas. However, it's not rocket science to amend the existing Word exporter just to do the multi document export. Another help formatting the final document is to have the DXL call a macro embedded in the template upon completion of the dxl code. Thus taking care of some Word Document formatting in VBA rather than trying to do it entirely from DOORs using DXL. Hope this helps... Dan |

WEXP, the Word Exporter, is another solution. One of the other discussion chains in this forum says it is available as a Telelogic add-on from your sales rep. WEXP has the advantage that there is almost no coding.
