Our process says to take the requirements and create the design from it, fairly standard decomposing process I would have thought.
We have a requirement module and a design module, with a linkset to enforce the link from the source design to the target requirement.
When we use drag and drop "copy then link" from the requirement module to the design module DOORS tries to put a link from the source to the target, which is the wrong way round and results in
A linkset pairing restriction prevents the creation of links from ...

Is there anyway to change this behaviour to the link is created from the target to the source, either directly in the tool or by modifying the relevant DXL?

You cannot modify the behaviour of the "copy and link fom start" function.

You have the following options:

1. use the copy objects function (tools->functions->copy objects ...) This allows you to copy objects and create links in either direction. I vaguely remember there being a bug with this in that it always uses the default link module set up from the database explorer options menu. Not sure if this has been fixed yet.

2. Create your links using the drag and drop method and then use some dxl to "reverse the link direction".
