Roger,

The information appears in the knowledgebase here

19333 - DOORS 7.0 and 7.0 SP1 clients sometimes unnecessarily report that the view list is locked for a given module. This behavior has been rectified in DOORS 7.1, subject to the condition that the database server has been configured to bar connections from both DOORS 7.0 and 7.0 SP1 clients.
If the server is not so configured, all connected clients (including DOORS 7.1 clients) will exhibit this defective behavior.
The problem can be fixed by setting the -v option on the DOORS database server to prevent pre v7.1 clients from connecting to the server. Before you set this option you must ensure that all the clients that need access to the database server have been upgraded to DOORS version 7.1. Once the option is set, pre 7.1 clients will be unable to connect to the database. They may or may not be presented with an error message informing them that they cannot connect.

To enable the -v 7.2 option on Windows platforms:

1. In the Windows services, right click on the 'DOORS DB Server 7.1' service, and select 'Properties'.
2. Click 'Stop' to stop the database server.
3. In the 'Start parameters' field enter '-v 7.2'
4. Click the 'Start' button.

To disable the -v 7.2 option on Windows platforms:

1. In the Windows services, right click on the 'DOORS DB Server 7.1' service, and select 'Properties'.
2. Click 'Stop' to stop the database server.
3. In the 'Start parameters' field enter '-v 7.0'
4. Click the 'Start' button.

To enable the -v 7.2 option on UNIX

Run the DOORS Database Server with the command line switch '-v 7.2'

To disable the -v 7.2 option on UNIX

Run the DOORS Database Server with the command line switch '-v 7.0'
