Some of our clients get this error.

It starts by the client asking for a licensing server twice and then giving you the error:

FLEXlm error: -15,578 on DOORS 7 Clients System Error: 10038 "Winsock: Specified socket is invalid".

It happens on clients using XP and Win2K and the server having SP1. No matter how many times you uninstall and clean your client, the issue is still there.

DOORS support is into this and gave us a temporary work around of having a local lic.

Thanks in Advance!

Jetzu

We're fighting the same thing. Some of the things we have done in the attempt to fix it are:

Uninstall, then delete every reference to telelogic, DOORS, and Flexlm from the registry

Log on to the local machine (as opposed to logging into the network) install and run license setup

Change the LM_License_File to reflect the server IP rather than server name

Installed in SafeMode +Networking

The obvious one... rebooted

Its truly frusterating when this program you hundreds of thousands of dollars for doesn't work as advertised. I'm finished complaining. if anyone gets a better solution let us know.

We are still dealing with this issue. Telelogic has marked it "For consideration in a future release." It seems to be a random feature with DOORS 7SP1 that occasionally an install just won't work. The only fix that we have found that works is to wipe out and reload the OS then do a DOORS install.

DOORS 7.1 has been released. Maybe the problem is fixed?

flex lm libraries in DOORS 7.1 have been upgraded from v8.0d to v8.1b to address this problem.

We found the resolution to this problem. Follow the steps to fix the problem:

-uninstall the TCP/IP, client for Microsoft, and File and Printer sharing.
-Delete winsock and winsock2 from the registry. (Search for winsock in the registry)
-Reboot the machine
-install the TCP/IP, client for Microsoft and File and Printer sharing
-Reboot the machine.
-reinstall the DOORS licenses(optional).

Make sure your temporary license is no longer in your client machine.

Start DOORS. It should work!!!.

Good luck.

Thanks
