Hello to everybody,
I created an SRS template by copying an SRS module and deleting all the information with the exception of the titles (the module structure). Now I need to use that SRS template as starting-point for a new module but I have two problems:
How can I solve my problems? Must I have Administrator rights in order to reset the baseline counter? Thanks. Francesco. |

That's the way it works!
You cannot reset the baseline count. You will need to create a new module, import the attributes and copy the objects into it. ------------------------- Tony Goodman Smart DXL limited www.smartdxl.com |

You took the wrong approach in creating the module.
Clone the SRS module then copy desired objects and views to the template. |

Francesco,
I think the better way is to create your template using Baseline Copy. That way the new module is created with the abs numbers beginning at 1 and the baseline counter at 0.0 1) Open the original module that you want to create the template from. 2) Select File > Baseline > Copy 3) Select the latest baseline, enter the template name, enter a prefix for the ID (absolute number), if desired. 4) If you only want the Headings, check that under Include. Click OK. 5) When it's finished, save the new module. 6) With the new module still open, create a new baseline in it, then save and close the module. 7) Now whenever you want to create a new module from the template, open the template and perform steps 2 - 5 above (entering the new module name instead of template name in step 3). |

Thanks Nancy,
the method of Baseline Copy is definitively the best, I think! I'm not so shore but I remember I've already used this method in the past, but, evidently, I forgotten this time... There is just a little (big) problem for me when I copy a baseline of that module: the script crashes due to an error in a layout DXL included in a view of the module. So I'm not able to apply this method to my SRS template! Also I tried the "just Headings" option but it's not enough for me: I need all the information contained in the module to be copied... Probably now I'll be forced to create a new empty module and then to copy all the information in by the "Import attribute" and "copy views" utilities... What a shame! The copy baseline was really better! Thanks. Francesco. Francesco, I think the better way is to create your template using Baseline Copy.
