Hi,

I have a Doors module with two columns of out links. These two columns (target modules) are for 99% identical, but also contain some differences.

Now, I would like to compare both columns, preferably with automatic redlining. Does anybody know a trick to do this?

Have a look at this thread: http://support.telelogic.com/en/doors/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=17&threadid=1382&highlight_key=y&keyword1=diff

It makes reference to the use of the diff function. An example script shows how to use red-lining when exporting to RTF. Now to see if it will also work on-screen. In fact, we did it already, but I have to search for it.

Got it:

Two years ago I forwarded this solution to a coleague and forgot about it.

Now, I have the same question at another company. Two columns in Doors: one with requirements copied and changed in time and one with the traced original source.

I tried to figure out how to implement the solution in the message above, but couldn't figure it out. Where should I write this script? In the DXL attribute or ...?

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

the best place for this solution would be a Layout DXL column, because there you can use displayRichWithColour (string).

So you could use the following code to display your changes.

You have only to change the attribute names.

I hope it will work correctly, because I didn't tested it

Thanks.

But, one of the two columns contains the object text of outlinks. How to get the contents of this column and compare it with the text attribute contents of the other? Is it for example possible to refer to the column cell contents value instead of the attribute value?

Hi Mark,

yes of couse it is possible to compare these values too, but then you need to follow the link.
Assuming that it is an outgoing link you can use the following code ...
You have to insert the correct Link Module name there ...
