Is it possible to transfer a small part of one DOORS database, complete with links, to another DOORS database through a single file tranfer?
For example: Moving a training file module a production server to a secondary server that can be used as an example, without duplicating any of the live production modules on the secondary server.

The way to do that is to archive and then restore.
If you want to preserve links then you need to archive at the project level. When you restore you can be selective about which modules get restored to the new database. ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com |

If you need to send all the modules in a folder, you can [1] Use the File menu to turn the folder into a Project [2] Archive the Project, creatiung a single *.dpa file [3] turn it back into a folder [4] Move the file to the test server [5] restore the 'project' in the other database [6] turn it back into a folder.
As Goodman said, you will loose all links these module have to modules not in the archive. - Louie |

You may also need to add the users / groups from the donor database to the other database, if they don't exist.
