Hi,
I've taken over as Project Specialist for a large project, one of the modules, and no-one knows quite how it happened, has the access permissions for ALL users/groups set to R. Is there a way to restore access, perhaps using some DXL script, such that it can be edited again? We don't want to involve our IT Supplier if possible as it would be cost too much. Any help or advice appreciated. --- Robbie Longworth Ultra Electronics Datel |

there are no DXL security backdoors, so you will need to log in as the Administrator (not just someone with admin privileges).

There are certainly some very serious DOORS security backdoors.
Yes, you CAN remove everyone's access, including your own. Yes, you'll need to login as the Administrator if you do. - Louie |

OK, there are some DXL security backdoors - but not in the access control system.
there are none that can change access permissions on a module when explicit access for all has been set to R. nor can you... -impersonate another user -hack the password list If I wanted to exploit DXL and escalate my privileges on a module I would attach a viral trigger to a common module, slip a bit of DXL into a DOORS installation, or modify a DXL attribute. These would require at least one person to have access to the module already though. |
