hello dxliens,
is it possible to create e-mails from DOORS?
For example an object representing a requirement is not finished or planned!
Can the responsible planner get a reminder via e-mail with the Object ID?
best regards,
Mussie

Mussie,
Yes. You have a few options. If your DOORS database has access to an SMTP server, it's as simple as this function: bool sendEMailNotification( string fromDescription, string targetAddress, string subject, string message) If you use Microsoft Outlook, you can also communicate with Outlook via OLE. If you have access to an SMTP server with DOORS, though, that's the much easier solution. ------------------------- Kevin Murphy http://www.baselinesinc.com The Requirements Management Experts |

do you have an idea how to use OLE and outlook?
Or any references?

Do a search on outlook and you will find a few threads on how to send an email through outlook using OLE.
There is also sendEmailMessage which is similar to sendEmailNotification. Search for the thread on undocumented commands and you'll also find a lot more variations on those two commands than the one Kevin posted. Such as sending an email to a list of users using a Skip List. ------------------------- David Pechacek AAI Services Textron dpechacek@sc-aaicorp.com David.Pechacek@gmail.com Edited: 13-Sep-2007 at 18:32 by David Pechacek |
