Hello All,

I want to provide a hyperlink to a document in my DialogBox. How can I make the text appear as hyperlink in the dialog box? The basic idea is to provide a link to the help document in one of the tabs of my GUI.

Thanks in advance

Regards
Irfaan

Use <file:thefullfilepath>

Works for us at least.

In a dialogbox, you create a label with some document path and it is shown as a HTML link?

Irfaan, excuse me if I am reiterating what has already been said or implied in this thread.

As far as I know, no one has figured out how to hyperlink from a label or dialog box. Until someone figure this out -- you probably will have to add a button and use dxl to load a file either by:
--the htmhelp function or perhaps
--a system function call

As David points out -- hyplink from a richtext box is possible within the DOORS formal module, but I don't think anyone has accomplished the task in a dialog box.

You might talk with tech support -- but they are usually relunctant to share their dark secrets and undocumented functions.

Note: my usual approach to providing a help function is use a button to display a text box that has the help info. While this is not as good looking as a html help files or word documents -- this approach makes deployment easy and most often satisfies the requirement for displaying help.
