I think it's been too long since I've used dxl.
I have created a new requirements module using an old reqs module. I wanted to maintain the same requirements, but use them for a differnt project. Since the requirements are in a new module all the requirements are renumbered (which is good, I wanted that). I have maintained the object identifiers from the old module in a text attribute in the new module. I want to keep a "Remarks" attribute from the old module, but in that attribute are references to reqs using the object identifiers from the old module . I want to write a script that will find and replace the old object identifier in the "Remarks" attribute with the associated new object identifier. It seems simple, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to search within the text of an attribute for a particular string. Any ideas? Or any exsiting scripts I can look at? |

Colleen--you need to look in the DXL Reference Manual and check out Regular Expressions. That should at least get you started.
