Hello,
has anyone experience with the following problem? There two users working with the same module at the same time. We can't work with shareable edit because the objects are not in only one section. As I've just started with writing scripts in dxl I would like to know if there's the possiblity lock only the objects you can see in a view and not all objects of the module? Is it possible to write a script the locks only the objects with a specific value of an attribute? Thanks Hanna Bock ext-hanna.bock@nokia.com |

No. You cannot selectively lock objects nor can you "lock" any set of attributes. You can only "lock" an object when THAT object or one of its "ancestors" is defined as a shared section (that is, it has "specific" access). When you lock the section ALL such objects in that section are locked, viewed or not.
Consider this: Define shared sections in all Level 1,2,3, and 4 headings. Discipline your users to open Shareable, and when they want to edit an object then lock it, edit it, unlock and save; then go to the next object. - Louie |

Quite right you have to define the shareable sections.
But please be aware that this requires exclusive access. The shareable sections in a module can not be set dynamically. So inorder to change tha access later on you need to get exclusive access to the module once more and then once more set the shareable scetions. Quite annoying actually. So make sure to try to make the best possible first shot of your shareable sections Enjoy! |

And don't forget that too many sharable sections directly impacts performance. So choose your editable section level carefully.
