We have a common set of attributes and attribute types that are in each module. Just discovered forms and they are nice for setting attributes in a formal module. Didn't notice any means of copying a form from one module to another - would not take so long to make one, but sure would be nice to copy it over...

I noticed that forms are stored with a module, but not in a module attribute that we can get access to.

From an Excel file posted in another thread on this forum earlier today, these undocumented functions will probably do what you want...

string getNextModuleFormName(Module,string)
GetNextModuleFormName
string getModuleFormProperties(Module,string)
GetModuleFormProperties
string getModuleFormAttr(Module,string)
bool deleteModuleForm(Module,string)
bool updateModuleForm(Module,string,string,string)
bool addModuleForm(Module,string,string,string)

When programming a copy function, it'd be good to remember that forms appear to be based upon views.

This will definitely take some trial and error to figure out, but I'm betting it can be done.

Thanks Kevin!

It will be a while before I get good enough at dxl to use your input, i'm afraid ... but it is summer and a bit slow, so ...

Thanks again.

No problem, Ed.

I may have a need to write such a function in the future. If I do, I will let you know.
