Answer:
Hi Louie,

All sorted now. The code for 'all modules' was missing so re-ran the wizard.

Thanks

Steve

I have a module that takes information from three other modules and after executing some Layout DXL code, displays a result.

I use Layout DXL in two columns and get inconsistent results due to DOORS automatically opening two of the modules in the background and not the third. These modules are displayed in "Display Open Modules..." dialog box.

Is it possible to get all three to open for all users?

Thanks

Steve

Its possible to have some sort of module-open trigger that 'automatically' opens a specific list of other modules invisibly.

If your Layouts feature following a link and gathering info from the linked object, then its a lot more reasonable to have the layout to open all linked partners (invisibly) and then follow the link.

I strongly suspect your layouts were created with the Layout Wizard that featured the option for 'open module' rather than 'all module' (or whatever). This option fails to open modules at the other end of the links, and it makes me wonder why anybody would want to do that. Anyway, you can re-create the layouts with the wizard. There is also examples in the DXL manual where other modules are opened invisibly before examining the links themselves. Incoming links require looping through the LinkRefs of a link, getting the full name of the ModName_ source of the Ref, opening it read invisible with read(Name, false). Outgoing links are similar, getting the fullname of the ModName_ target(lnk) and opening it.
