A problem, mabey I make a mistake during operating doors.
I login in doors using Administrtor account, and fill the system username of the
Administrator account. enable using system username.
When I open the doors client, a doors report "This database is configured to use system login names , and there is no user accout associated with your system login name ." Login has failed.
Now I can not type username and password.please help.

If you have system user name login enabled then DOORS expects to be launched by the user who logged in to the PC.

In other words, login to doors as the same user you logged in to your PC as.

If you want to override this you need to add -user and -password flags to the command line or shortcut you use.

You can set the Administrator's system login name to your windows login name, but then you would always login as adminsitrator.

The Administrator account should only be used in emergencies. Create another account to use for day to day purposes.

When the database is setup for using 'System User Names'...

You CAN map a single 'system user name' to more than one DOORS account. When you do and that system user starts DOORS, then she is presented with the DOORS login screen where you must log in as one of the mapped DOORS users. You are not presented a list of DOORS users that are legal options, you need to know.

That is, the DOORS 'Administrator' can have system login name 'LouieTheSchmuck' as can DOORS user 'Louie'.

Notice that you (computer login) cannot log into a DOORS account unless that account has you as the system user name specified. That means, in case you didn't notice, that only one computer login name can be used to log into any particular DOORS account. If a DOORS account has no system user named defined, you cannot log into that account.

Specifying the user and password as command line switches does not override the above observations. If you specify a DOORS user that's not mapped to the computer login, you get a 'Invalid User name or Password' error and the login prompt is displayed.

I think Chunjia is hosed. It appears he made a mistake entering the system user name (perhaps forgetting to [OK] and save the changes), and now everyone is locked out of DOORS. Gotta contact Telelogic.

In the future, one should log in as the Administrator and make these database changes and save them, then LEAVE that DOORS instance active while you invoke DOORS and try to login. If you make mistakes you can use the original DOORS instance to backout whatever changes you made.
