I've seen this problem intermittently for some time, but it has become more common/irritating.
I wish to generate a copy of a Formal module, using the standard copy/paste function. Usually when I try to do this I get a pop-up window which says:- "Paste Failed. Device or Resource busy" Occasionally, and for no apparent reason, the copy works. The modules is not open, I have full Administrator privelages and I can do anything else I want to the module such as move, delete etc. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the problem? Thanks all in advance |

Someone else may have a better ideal than mine but perhaps you should reboot your windows machine.

Been there, tried that!!!
This has been an intermittent problem for months (but one doesn't often need to copy a module) I was trying to demonstrate the problem to IT - on the reasonable grounds that all problems are the fault of either Windows, IT or both - and it performed a module copy perfectly. After I had stopped swearing, and trying to tell IT that it wouldn't do that 5 minutes ago, I tried it again - and the second time none of the modules I tried would copy, including the one that had just done so. |

Try doing the same thing from another machine.

Tried that. Doesn't work from other machine either, so its something to do with the Database.
Also doesn't work if I log on as user or Administrator. Any other good suggestions, anyone???? |

Since you've narrowed the problem down to the database and not to client machines, I believe you have no choice but to log the problem with Telelogic Support.
If you do find a solution in the meantime, or through them, do post here and let us know what it was. ------------------------- Kevin Murphy http://www.baselinesinc.com |

Seems to has something to do with corrupt busy flags inside DB. DB-Analyse and -Repair-Tools may find and repair it. => try out: Right Click DOORS Database, Check Integrity. (DB often degenerates a over time) / Chance 35%
