Went on a Trigger investigation binge (again) lately, and this one of the things I came up with. Attached find a very wordy but simple script to enable and disable triggers on demand. This expands the "-T" command line switch option which turns them off ..err.. disables them.

The effects of the script last for the duration of the current doors session but can be changed as often as wished. Disabling triggers has no effect on the creation, existence, and deletion of triggers; they simply do not start. Stored (persistent) and dynamic triggers are affected. Don't know about built-in triggers.

If the user lacks Manage Database powers then triggers will always execute even if disabled by this script; that's a feature of DOORS not of the script.

'No way to do this'. Wrong.

Great script Louie.

The problem is for everyone but me and my boss, our problem with triggers firing from opening baselines will still exist. Our users are all standard users.

It is very easy to place it into a menu ....

Greetings

We've got DOORS installed in each client and it isn't practical to update that install for this sort of thing. Besides, the IT folks would have a 'cow' if they knew I was trying to do that. Thus, I've never bothered trying to modify existing menues and have limited myself to 'addins' menues.

Having said that, I DID modify the 'link.dxl' file to recognize parameter 'LinkModAddins', so I can build a menu of scripts that apply only to Link Modules. I'm the only one that uses that, and really don't need it.
