I am sure this has been posted before but I can't find it. Attachments seem to disappear from this forum.
This is the kitchen from 2004 - its the latest I have. Maybe someone has a later version?

I have heard various conflicting opinions from Telelogic concerning the kitchen. They used to give it to ppeople who had attended the DXL course. The purpose presumably to give you a "starter for ten" when you want to develop your own DXL. I have also been told that they are now not giving it away and are discouraging its use. I don't know what the company line is on this one. Either way they certainly do not support it.

I am of the opinion that the kitchen should be looked upon as an invaluable resource to anyone developing DXL, especially beginners because it is crammed full of examples of how to do things.

I couldn't agree more with you Tony. Here's the kitchen files we were given last May during our training session.

I notice that while the folders in the zip were created May-2005, there is one actual file modified June-2004 and the rest modified Sep-2003 or earlier; a bunch in 2002 and some back in 1999.

They may be good for seeing examples of stuff, but we aren't going to deploy them for general use.

It was suggested that we NOT release the kitchen scripts to the users. They are meant for admin use.

Don't let Joe User have ANY dxl.

I prefer to restrict access to running DXL (which can be done easily in DOORS 8.0) to a few chosen users who know what they are doing.

Two reasons for this:

(1) while thet are not playing with DXL (which is time consuming) they are doing their day job.

(2) you prevent proliferation of project-specific DXL that no-one knows how to maintain after the author leaves to work for Telelogic ;-)
