I have modules in different projects (folders). One project is high-level and one is low level . I wish to to do "down to up" linking (from the detailed modules up to the high-level module). Let's call my high-level module H and I have several detail modules, A,B,C, etc.. I have a link module with defined linksets for several modules A->H, B->H, etc.. And I have several links in a handful of modules, A thru C. However, I have one "bad" module. when I try to create a link from a D item to an H item, I get the error: "A linkset pairing restriction prevents the creation of links from D to H, No link will be created" I get this error with drag and drop or "Start link" + "Make link from start". I can make a link in the opposite direction, H->D. Of course, reversing doesn't work, since I just end up with the pairing restriction error again. Another engineer created the projects and modules and he has now left. I have full access to all the modules (RDCMA). I cannot modify the properties of the linkset module. There are A LOT of existing links (the A-C items), so I do not want to start over and delet that link module. I just need to fix it so that I can do links from the D module. Any suggestions?

It appears that the modules have been defined with default link modules and mandatory usage.

I assume that you have DOORS 7 ( I have not used vers 8 yet)

On the SOURCE module that you want to start the link from:
- open the module
- File --> module properties

- look the default links and modify as needed.

I don't have DOORS running on my new machine yet so I cannot give you exact instructions.

Yes, you were right. For whatever reason, the module I was having problems with was missing its "link to H" linkset association entry. Thank you.
