How do I confirm all users are out of DOORS prior to rebooting the server? Is there a way I can see it, instead of asking everyone "Can you get out of DOORS"?

You can check the licenses being used:
From the command line: c: cd c:\Program Files\Telelogic\DOORS 7.1\flex lmutil lmstat -f DOORS **Your path may be different. ------------------------- Karen Hidalgo<BR>Northrop Grumman - TASC<BR>karen.hidalgo@ngc.com |

Licensing not quite the same as logged in users. You can use the Windows Dbsadmin.exe program (should be sibling to DOORS.exe icon in your Start menu), type in the server (e.g. 36677@Doors-Server) and hit refresh. This is all the logged in users in that database. Notice that the process that is doing this query shows up in the list as "administrator". This, and the one following either need to be run from the server itself, or can be run from you client so long as the dbsadmin.exe exists AND your client can see the server in Windows Explorer.
There is also a sibling dos version. one such *.bat file is: rem Start Bat files echo off prompt $g echo DOORS-UserList.bat. echo Displays user names currently logged into the DOORS database. echo It also prints locked files. echo You need to have installed the "typical server" on your computer. echo The "System" user is the license server. echo The one with "*" followed by YOUR user name is this query process. echo All others are currently logged into DOORS. echo on c: cd "c:\Program Files\Telelogic\doors 7.1\bin" doskey /insert "dbadmin.exe" -d 36677@My-Doors-Server -l -u pause rem end Batch file This shows users and locks (-u and -l options). This version has the advantage that you call "kill" processes using the ProcessID shown in the results; i.e. nail-the-bone-head-who's-still-logged-in. - Louie |
