Hi All,

I have few question. Please anyone help me out..
1. How to organize all the objects related to one attribute?
2. Is it possible to change the type of an attribute after we defined it?

thanks.

[1] Are you asking "How can I conveniently see which objects have a particular value for a particular attribute?" e.g. Which requirements are Completed Testing?
Add column of attribute Testing.
Define a filter for attribute Testing containing 'Completed'.
Save the view, perhaps as "Testing Complete". Be sure the view remembers columns and filtering.

[2] No, you cannot change the type of an attribute definition; although you CAN add/delete/modify the enumerations of an attribute type that is in use. Not sure what happens to the Values that an object may have when you rename or remove a used enumeration. But generally you need to create a new type and new definition, then write a DXL that copies the old values to the new values, then delete the old attribute, then rename the new name to the old. That's a pain.

I've come across a workaround to "change" the type of an attribute, although it's a copy/paste function.

1. Go to EDIT ? ATTRIBUTES
2. Select NEW
3. Name the new attribute (e.g. if you’re changing LN from INTEGER to TEXT, name it similar, for example "LN_1")
4. Select the type and press OK (keep all defaulted checkboxes)
5. Close the Attribute window
6. In the module, add the Attribute to view by going to INSERT ? COLUMN
7. Select the attribute to be added
8. Select OK
9. Copy the values from the attribute with the incorrect type TO the new attribute (e.g. LN values to LN_1 column) by going to KITCHEN ? ATTRIBUTES ? COPY VALUES BETWEEN ATTRIBUTES and confirm this action to proceed.
10. Select the FROM attribute and the TO attribute and confirm the action to proceed.
11. Delete the attribute with the incorrect type by going to EDIT ? ATTRIBUTES.
12. Highlight the attribute and select DELETE.
13. Rename the new attribute with the JUST DELETED attribute name by highlighting and selecting EDIT (e.g. Rename LN_1 to LN).
