Answer:
You *must* publish DOORS *and* MS Word to the Citrix server farm.

This holds true for any application that integrates with DOORS via OLE Automation

Hi,

Anyone out there using CITRIX to deliver the DOORS client to users?

If yes, is there some undocumented method or magic that will allow users to export from MSWord to DOORS when the DOORS client is being delivered via CITRIX.

I've made sure that the doors.dot file is in the correct location on the users PC, it just seems that the doors.dot functionality doesn't know how to connect to the DOORS client when it's being delivered via CITRIX.

We are using MS Terminal Server with DOORS 5.2. CITRIX is an enhanced version of Terminal Server. You have to have Word installed on Terminal Server so that its icon shows in each users Terminal Server Window/Desktop along with their DOORS icon. Then they work together.

Hi, Peter,

Did you publish your Citrix as desktop? If you publish DOORS on Citrix as application you won't be able to see the desktop, right?

I was told by Telelogic that Publishing DOORS on Citris in desktop mode won't work and is not supported. The manu said it should be published in seamless mode, which I think means application mode.

Thanks!

And following from the previous message, if Word is published by the CITRIX server as an application, that instance of Word can communicate with (CITRIX) DOORS.

Antonio,

So do we need to publish both DOORS and MS Word on the citrix server? If yes, would that be a seemless mode publish or desktop publish? Would the users see both DOORS icon and MS Word icon on the Citrix client?

THanks!

We're current testing Doors v7.0 on Citrix and we've gone down the route of also publishing Word via Citrix. All works fine so far.
