I have been asked to write a script that will use a text attribute with section (object number) information to reorder the object in the module properly. In essence, the script should read the attribute and put the object in whatever section it says. Before I sit down and write this, I was wondering if anyone has a script that does something similar. Thanks all!

Jeremy,

I have a script "Build Hierarchy" that can be found here that does it for an entire module.

Also, attached is a "Hierarchy Bulider" script that some Telelogic folks have provided.

Both may give you some ideas on how to do what you want.

What i want to do is pretty much the same as Jeremy. To arrange Objects according to Object Numbers.

Any help is appreciated.

Tarun,

You aren't doing anything wrong.

I didn't write it to parse an Object Numbers with dashes. When I originally wrote the utility, I was bringing in specifications from Excel which were hand-numbered. I've never seen the dashing notation used outside of DOORS. Was the information exported from a DOORS module and then re-imported?

Hi Michael

The information was not from Excel but from some other module. What i am trying to do is to synchronize the hierarchy of a Module based on the Object Numbers from other module.

Is there any tool which can arrange Hierarchy based on Object Numbers of DOORS.

Regards
Tarun
