I've been modifying the menus in DOORS to link to specific script rather than using the predefined menu options. For example, I've remapped the "Delete" menu option to run a script that creates a dialog box that requires an SCR# to be entered before the object is deleted. I've successfully done this, however the only "Delete" function I have not been able to map to the script is the "Delete" key stroke. Does anyone know if this is even possible??? ------------------------- Scott Boisvert Engineering Tools Administrator L-3 Communications - Avionics Systems scott.boisvert@l-3com.com |

I don't think it is possible.
I remember trying to do the same a while back. The problem was that doors could not distinguish between keyDelete and the '.' key. See other posting here. ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com Edited: 11-Jul-2006 at 16:19 by Tony Goodman |

If key mappings aren't possible, you can always put a trigger on it that runs before a save looking for deleted objects without SCR numbers and then informing the user that they must undelete it.
Clunky, but it is a workaround. ------------------------- Kevin Murphy http://www.baselinesinc.com The Requirements Management Experts |

That would be a module pre-save trigger that denies or allows the save event.
