Does any one have a script to recover users passwords, from the first to the last password? I need it to make sure when I create a user account I have entered the right password because I've had many users with password problems that claim I gave the wrong password.

I don't believe you can recover an overwritten password. Or even the current password of a user. The password attribute of a User is write only. That would be a pretty big security risk if you could read other users passwords.

As David said you cannot read them. But DOORS does seem to keep track of them since there are password reuse policies you can select from.
Undersand that in order for a password to be saved you need to close the 'Manage Users' dialog. If you are talking on the phone and change a password and tell them it, you must close the dialog for it to go to the database before they attempt to use it. - Louie |

You may find it better to always create accounts with the same password. (Example = Hello). The user is then responsible for changing it. Incorrect entry is their problem. You can reset to the original when they forget. |

Thanks to David, Louie and Robert.
David that for the security risk tip, I know that's a pretty big issue this days.
Louie you are right about the policies and there must be a way to find out, with out risking other users accounts.
Robert in my work area we have exclusive names that every employee must know in order to access every thing The thing is that i give them the same number and they always have problems login.
Thanks for your help!

Teach your engineers to type, spell, and remember that DOORS is case sensitive. I know the first two are quite a challenge.
