Hi All,
I do a lot of export of modules to Word. I find that some objects' text does not get exported without any error indications. I usually work with Export - MS Office - Word and tried with both the Book and Table formats. In the Table format, it shows an empty row where this object text is supposed to show. Then I tried with the DocExpress. The result is the same - for two objects the text does not get exported to the Word document. The object appears in the view I selected to export. Its attributes are the same as the one above or below. When I check with DXL for the o."Object Text" it shows the text in the output window. Has anyone experienced similar problem? I am in a fix as I am not sure whether all the Word documents I prepare really contain all the objects I select in the view. How can I make a detailed check? Thanks for any suggestions. - Krishna |

You could always write a checksum function in dxl and a checksum in vba. If the cecksum matches, you would have a good confidence level. |

Thanks, Ron, for the suggestion.
I did some more investigation. If the object text contains some hidden text (originally imported from Word with hidden text), the entire object text does not get exported back to Word. When we check the object text in the Properties - Attributes - Object Text , the text does not show the hidden text. If we run the dxl script print (o."Object Text")"" , the hidden text is shown. Has anyone experienced this problem? |

I had similar problems with hidden text. It wasn't that the output to word was fully suppressed, but it was strangely formatted. But this could easily be solved with the "remove Rich Text" routine from the kitchen library.

I reported this matter to Telelogic and they confirmed that it is a bug in 8.2. This is resolved in version 8.3.
