I read this post while looking up something else and it brought up a question i had before.  I created a template with a style named "Requirement".  I have a layout dxl column that i want to assign that type to and havent found how to do it.

You probably found your answer by now, but I thought I'd reply in case you haven't yet found an answer.

As far as I know, you can only assign styles to objects. You would set the "Paragraph Style" attribute to the style defined in your Word template:

i.e. Object Heading:Heading 1, Object Text:Figure, Object Text:Table or Object Text:Requirement

I don't know of any way to apply a style to an attribute column automatically. I would suspect you'd have to select that column in your Word document and manually apply the style.

Good luck!

If you use WEXP (lots of references in the forums) for your exports that allows you to set styles per attribute.

I have recently filed an enhancement request, including a proposed patch which allows mapping of styles for layout-DXL columns using the column title instead of the (non-existing) attribute name. We'll see if it makes its way into the product at some time...

The attached code is a UNIX-style "diff", use "patch" to apply it to your standard/export/office/word.dxl

Would converting the Layout DXL to Attribute DXL enable you to assign a style.
