Hi Everyone,

I have a unique problem related to the Headers and Footers of the DOORS modules.

Is there a way to add them at the GUI level or do I need to write my own printing routine in DXL?

Since this is a string value: I cannot add a carriage return to make the data wrap to the next line.
\R, \N does not work. it prints \R or \N

The options are:

&N current page number, for a contents page in Roman numerals; not available on a title page
&C total page count; not available for title page or contents pages
&M current module name
&P project name
&V current version of module
&U username
&D session date
&T time of printing
&A DOORS product name
&B DOORS product version

When I put a large amount of data in the left footer of the body page it runs off the page rather than wrapping to the next line.

If I want to wrap the data in the top right header I cannot.

Example of my Top Right Header:

What I have to do:

&M, &V, &D, Cage Code XXXXX, Page &n

What I need to do: (CR = carriage return)

&M &V (CR)
&D (CR)
Cage Code XXXXX (CR)
Page &n

Example of my Bottom Left Footer:

My Company Name - Use or disclosure of this information is subject to the restriction(s) on the title page or on the first page of this document.

It runs off the page when I print it.
What I need is two lines of data.

My Company Name - Use or disclosure of this information is subject to the restriction(s) (CR) on the title page or on the first page of this document.

If you know of a solution,
Please Email me or post it here
Thank you,
Vince

Vincent,

DOORS doesn't seem to have a way to display multiple lines in Headers/Footers when printing from DOORS. I've found you can STORE "\n"s in a Page Setup, but DOORS will ignore them when printing (and also ignore any text after them). This seems to be true even in DOORS 6, which allows Rich Text in the Headers/Footers.

The existing Telelogic exporters to Word/Excel do not use the DOORS Page Setup information. My forthcoming "Enhanced Export to Excel" should be able to use stored DOORS Page Setup Header/Footer information to set up Headers/Footers in Excel. Similar techniques could be used to enhanced the Word Exporter.
