Answer:
No. This means its tough to line up a DOORS module exactly as the corresponding MS-Word file looked, if one monkeyed with the Word heading numbers.

Now you CAN insert a few empty objects at the start of the module and force your first Heading to be some other number. That will look odd but you can do it.

Good afternoon,

Heading numbers in my modules start at 1 -- is there a way for me to change this so my heading numbers can start at some arbitrary number?

I use Louie's method of using a few 'dummy' objects beforethe real meat of the module, and have modified the publishing tool to ignore objects with Object text "Dummy_Object". That way if I combine multple modules exported to word files (using the word master-doc, sub-doc) then the word heading numbers come out fine.

I'd think you'd need to insert 'Dummy_Object' into the Object Heading, in order to get the renumbering you want.
