Hello,
Are there any problems with putting DOORS into a comma delimited file. As a temporary solution, I may have to store all of the DOORS attributes (including Object Text and linking information) into a comma delimited file. Thanks, Mary |

It can be done so long as you know which attributes you WANT to export. Be advised the output text file format does NOT support any "richText" stuff like Bolding, Paragraph Indentation, nor OLE/Picture diagrams.
Importing the CSV into a new module raises the issue of matching the desired "leveling" of the file (will an object marked 3.2.3 really be a level 3 object?). If you intend to reimport the CSV into the existing module, you'd export the "absolute number" and use that as the "key" on import. - Louie Storing the module as a CSV looks administratively undesirable indeed; unless this is only some sort of "backup" that you hopefully won't need later. |
