Answer:
Chris,

Back a year ago, you mentioned in your response that you are writing a connector API program to integrate DOORS to TestManager. Could have any success on that. I really appreciate if you send your response. Thank you.

I currently have DOORS 5.2 on several stand alone machines. I will be adding Rational Rose to them. How do I connect them together? Do I need an executable?

Thanks,
Wayne

The easiest way would be to contact your Telelogic rep and ask them about the DOORSConnect for Rational Rose (relatively inexpensive product). Othewise you'll have to write a bit of DXL (or Rose Script) to do your own integration. We're just starting to bring the connector inhouse and are looking at the best way to use it (ie, 1-way, 2-way, single / multiple models and so forth).

We are also working on a TestInput Adapter (TeamTest to DOORS) although Ring-Zero has one available "commercially".

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Wayne,

We are currently using version 2.7.3 of DOORSConnect Rose Link to link Rational Rose Professional C++ edition to DOORS 5.2 on a small network. DOORS and Rose are on separate servers. No problems with the installation or use of Rose Link. You will need licenses for your Rose Links.

Mary,

Can you give us a basic idea of how your team(s) use the links to sync data?

For example:

* Do you make changes to the model via the surrogate & sync or strictly in the Rose model ?

* Do you link to any of the objects in the surrogate module?

We are brining in the DOORS-Rose connector but are writing out own TestManager-DOORS connector. We are also developing the process of taking data from the Rational Repository and creating surrogates in DOORS for the data. That way we can link the test cases to their designated requirements. We can also use additional linking to trace requirements upward as well as impact analysis for testing, etc.

TIA
