In shareable edit mode, clicking on the ‘Save” icon in the tool bar appears to perform a different save function than saving from the drop down menu or pressing
To see this, unlock a section of a module in shareable edit mode, make a change to an object, then click the Save Icon. You will be greeted with a message box: “Save and Unlock All Sections? YES/NO. However, if you save the change via the dropdown menu or press The ‘Saving Your Changes’ section in Help doesn’t make any distinction between these methods. Anybody know what’s up with this? |

You are correct in that this isn't well documented, but it is intentional and I teach the distinction on the Using DOORS Course.
The menu option gives you the ability to save without unlocking anything. The icon saves and unlocks everything. The right click menu (unlock) gives you a third option that is to save and unlock the currently selected section.
