Hi all,

I'm a newbie user to DOORS and wanted help on importing from a TSV file. I've got an Excel sheet with columns matching attributes in DOORS.

The sheet contains headings, subheadings, and requirements corresponding to these headings. When I import into DOORS all lines are taken in as objects at the same level. So it reads like:

A
B
B1
B2
C
C1
C2

I want them structured as:

A
--B
----B1
----B2
--C
----C1
----C2

Is there a way to demote (by one-level) the requirements under each heading during import ? Right now, I'm manually demoting them after the import, but I was wondering if there's an easier way.

Thanks!

Gautham

The script is working but how can i import one of the columns as an Object Heading and Object Text Attribute, being that column the requirements with the correct #s.

Object Text and Object Heading are separate attributes in DOORS, so you can not import them simultaneously to the main column, which displays both.

Couple of ideas:

- if you have separate columns in the original file which you import to DOORS for heading and requirements, just name those columns (in the title row) to be Object Heading and Object Text
- if you have the heading and requirements in the same column in the imported file, then can you e.g. filter the resulting file in DOORS based on some other value and then copy the attribute values to either Object Heading or Object Text
- or, try to separate the heading and requirement columns in the application from which you generate the TSV from
- to copy attribute values, use Tools / Functions / Copy Attributes
