We are using DOORS 8.1. Recently a problem has appeared regarding the copy/paste of objects containing OLEs that are of the type "static metafile". On pasting, the OLE object is shrunk down to microscopic proportions, sometimes seeming to disappear completely. Not only is the OLE shrunk, but the aspect ration is mangled too. If I resize it using the option under "Support Tools" the resized OLE is generally unreadable unless the aspect ratio is manually adjusted.
We could (and probably should) work around this issue by converting the original objects to "real" Visio OLEs because they can be copied and pasted without any issue, but the fact remains that this used to work OK. I am not sure what has changed in DOORS to cause this issue. I am trying to get our IT support folks to raise a support ticket with Telelogic, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone has seen this or something similar themselves? Has any solution been identified for this problem?
This issue is becoming more predominant at my workplace, especially when users are given new desktops and laptops (We are using DOORS 8.1 on Windows XP). Static metafiles are appearing with a size of (0,0). Resizing them has failed. |

We found the issue of missing OLE and graphics objects was caused by our antivirus software. We use CA's eTrust. To prevent the information from being screened out, we instruct the antivirus software to ignore the doors.exe process during its scan.
