(it seems to be my week for having unexpected DOORS problems)
I have just restored an archive I created in May, as I needed two modules from it which had since been deleted. Now I want to delete the restored project. The message I'm getting is "Insufficient access". The access to the project is restricted to RMCDA for a group to which I belong. I'm logged in as myself with RMCDA access. If I log in as an Administrator, I get the same error. There is no-one else logged in and there are no locks. I have rebooted and get the same error. Now I'm stumped. |

Hi Alan,
just a shot in the dark, as I stumbled over this a couple of times now: make sure that your project is not marked in the explorer view (in the left pane of the DOORS window). If the project (or a folder) is marked in the left pane, DOORS sees it as if it is opened and will not let you delete the item. Mark the parent of the item to be deleted so that you see the content of that item in the right pane. Use the right pane to select the item and delete it. Cheers, Frank p.s. DOORS 7.1 is used here ------------------------- Frank Jensen TRW Automotive frank.jensenREMOVE_ME@trw.com |

Hi Frank,
I've now tried that but still get the"Insufficient access" message. We're using 7.1 as well at the moment. |

Hi Frank,
do you have a "Partition Definition" on this Project? |

No.

Hi Alan,
I had the same problem with a project/Folder/module, because of a imported Partition. Did you check your "Imported Partitions" Tab, too? Maybe you can try to delete the prj from the back, and if you get a denial, take a look at the Item properties. Chris |

Okay, there IS an Imported Partition, which was imported before the project was archived.
Now that I've restored the archive, I don't see what I should need to do to be able to delete the project. I don't follow this bit... "Maybe you can try to delete the prj from the back, and if you get a denial, take a look at the Item properties. " |

Return the "Imported Partition" and "Delete the imported Date". Then you should be able to delete the Project.
You can verify the "Details" before you do that, to see which module/s is/are affected an take a look at the access rights. |

Getting rid of the imported partition definition does seem to have helped me delete the project.
