I figured it out !

Upon re-reading the help section I realized that my files were missing the required

I didn't realize how critical those first lines were.

I am creating some additional menu items for an existing addin drop-down menu.

1) I copied  the idx files to the directory

2) I modified the idx file to include these new files folllowing the format as required

What happens is I get a blank spot where the menu items should be.  I have tried moving these line items - delimited on top and bottom by a string of dashes - and I see a blank section but no menu items.  I have even copied the existing parts of the idx file and these part show up twice (!) but my new items will not show up in the drop-down menu.  Very strange.

Has anyoneseen this problem before.  If so, can you suggest a solution?
