I wonder wether it is possible to create a shared attribute type that would be used for various attributes in several different modules.
Eg: Allow modification of enumerated list once... |

No, DOORS does not support global attributes or types. What you can do, is to create one "template" module in your DB into which you create all your commonly used attributes and types and then import selected type(s) into the module(s) in which you want to use the types.

I had the same question awhile back.
I came up with the same answer that Pekka gave you however, if you are careful, you can edit (update) the enumerated types in multiple modules with a single DXL. You must take care to insure existing enumerations remain unchanged (position too) then you can add new enumerations to the type. I just loop through all modules in project and update the identical types. I can now update enumerations in over 500 modules in a very short period of time. NOTE: BACKUP before you try this but it is possible and it works well. |
