When importing an *rtf file into DOORS it often finds 'FRONT MATTER', this will result in a level 1 heading at the front of the new module in DOORS. Sometimes all other data imported is set as 1 child object to the Front matter.

Any ideas on what this front matter is? I've tried removing Headers & Footers etc from the Document before importing.

Thanks
Dave

THe importer creates doors headings based on the styles in the document (e.g. Heading 1, Heading 2).
Any normal paragraphs that appear before the first Heading 1 are placed under a Front Matter object. This can normally be deleted after import.
You may need to use the style mappings if the document does not contain standard styles.

Take a look at the comments in the following script. This explains what it does quite well.
$DOORSHOME/lib/dxl/standard/import/rtfim.dxl.
