Dear all,
I'm fighting with Doorsnet since some days and stil I can't make it work. I've done several times the installation following carefully the installation guide but still nothing happens. Here are some details of our installation: Doors version is 8.1. Server: windows XP pro SP2 with IIS5.1. its name on the network is "aeec-tools". The Doorsnet files are installed in path : D:\wwwroot\http\doorsweb\ The 3 services Doors DB server, Doorsnet server and Doorsnet session manager are running. I've created virtual paths for: -/cgi-doorsnet/ that points on this directory --> D:\wwwroot\http\doorsweb\cgi and, -/doorsnet/ on --> D:\wwwroot\http\doorsweb\docs I've rebooted several times the server but nothing better happen. Still when entering the url http://aeec-tools/doorsnet in IE, I've got the error page. Perhaps have you a tip to give me or any advice are welcome? Thank you Ernie for your answer :-) but I've found what was wrong!
I've reinstalled DoorsNet server in the "by default" paths, and as our server is working on a specific domain, I've needed to modify some options of the virtual paths of IIS and it was OK! This is absolutely not explained in the documentation, that's a critical point I think! Nevertheless, now every thing is working perfectly ... but how painfull was it to make it work! I hope that in the futur the official documentation will be better structurized. Indeed all this DoorsNet installation is very briefly explained in a Telelogic documentation called "Managing DOORS" and not in "Managing DoorsNet" ... this is very curious, isn't it ? Just for information: I've done some tests and remodified the "by-default" paths for DoorsNet server. And I've noticied that DoorsNet didn't wanted to start ... I've had once again this error page under IE. Once again I've re-isntalled the "by default" paths and it worked ... so I think that it's mandatory to use those "by default" paths and absolutely not change any thing (even if it's possible) Greetings Edited: 3-Jul-2006 at 09:05 by nils laumaillé |
