I love it.

I've wrestled with Excel OLE before, and one thing that I've learned is that you have to be very careful to look in the object browser to find out what you're doing. I always try to do whatever it is I'm doing with a VBA macro before even trying it in DXL.

The problem with arguments that your code complained about was that it tried to use the SetSource method on a ChartObject type object. Buuuuuuuuut, that method belongs to the Chart type object, which is (I think) itself a member of the ChartObject type.

So, you were using a ChartObject object when you wanted a Chart object. See code, but there may be other ways of getting it to work.
