Is there a function that will allow me to highlight a selected object like DOORS does when you perform a "Start Link"?

I have a view that has the "Link Arrows" off, when you do this, if you attempt to start a link, it does not indicate it by highlighting the object, even though it actually did the "Start Link".

FYI, this is on DOORS 8.1.

I would like the selected object to be highlighted when a link is started, but I do not want the link arrows to be present in the view. Any ideas?

Honestly that sounds like a bug to me. The row, in my mind, should still be highlighted regardless of whether the link arrows are showing.

Aye that's what I was thinking as well, a bug. Just didn't know if there was a way to work around that as I might have other uses for hightlighting an object....

Odd....

Here's a screen shot of what I have selected in my View->Show menu.

P.S. The link arrows in the screen shot are not DOORS link arrows...the column is a layout DXL with a canvas. A quick glance makes one think there is another issue.....

I had never noticed this before.
If the link indicators are hidden then the link start object does not turn pink.
I think this is a bug too.
I am using DOORS 8.2 patch 02.

Submitted a bug report to Telelogic seeing it's been duplicated and the general consensus is that this is a bug.

Well apparently Telelogic doesn't see this as a bug:

"Hi Scott

The product development team has confirmed that the object not turning pink when the link arrows are turned off is an expected behavior.

However, this has been raised as an Enhancement Request and the product management team may review this as a possible implementation in a future release.

Regards

Meetu"

I'd love to hear their reasoning for that behavior.
