DOORS Help says "If you select Public, you will have full access to the view, and everyone else will have the same access as they have to the module."
This is not the case, however. When Public is selected, only the current user has full access to the view, and everyone else has NO access. This is causing problems. I had to write a script to change the view access for every module in a project, and I will probably have to run this once a month. |

While the help file says:
"Public -- You will have full access to the view, and everyone else will have the same access as they have to the module. " What is refered is same access is ability to see the view -- not the rights to change the view. -- DOORS help says this is by design "and logic doesn't seem to apply" --- the wording in help file seems to be a hangover from previous version of the help file (Ability to save as private, public & custom came somewhere around version 7). To provide access to change a view, users have to use custom either manually or by script. A script may be an easier approach than trying to train users. Edited: 8-Dec-2006 at 14:04 by ron lewis |
