Has anyone figured out a way to get attributes displayed for table cells? Basically, our goal is to be able to copy attribute values quickly to multiple cells in tables.

If you are using DOORS 7.1, you can select the attribute to be displayed in the table cell.
Table->Properties menu, attributes tab. I just discoverd the Edit Using Wizard button on this tab. It is greyed out - anyone know anything about this? ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com Edited: 2-Feb-2005 at 09:28 by Tony Goodman |

Judy,
The best way of modifying attributes for multiple objects simultaneously is to use the Object properties window. Select all the cells in your table (Left Mouse click top left cell then Shift Click bottom right cell) then right click and select properties. In the properties window select the attributes Tab. Click on the attribute you want to modify and then the Edit button. You then get a window in which you can edit the attribute and at the bottom you can choose to apply the edit to all the objects in the selection. You can also use this method to edit all objects in a view, in which case you would want to filter the module to show the objects you want to apply the edit to rather than extending the selection. Using this method the attributes to be edited don't need to be in the view. Jon ------------------------- Jonathan Marshall EADS Astrium Edited: 2-Feb-2005 at 12:23 by Jonathan Marshall |

Thanks Tony!
This looks like it will allow us to edit table attributes much, much easier! |

Thanks Jonathan for your suggestion. I was aware of this feature, but in our case, we may not want to change the attribute in every cell of the table to be the same. I looked at Tony's suggestion and I think that will work just fine for us.
Thanks again! |

If you do the following, you'll be able to display multiple attribute values in the table:-
Create a DXl Attribute. Select the table. From the Table menu select properties -> Attribute. select the DXL attribute you've just created. The wizard button is now active. Click on the button. From the drop down , select the attributes you want to display. Select Okay. Ewen Miller QinetiQ. |

Speaking of setting a Table to display an attribute other than Object Text, does anyone know the syntax for doing this through DXL?

Did anyone determine if there is a way in DXL to modify the attribute display setting for tables?
UPDATE: I did some more searching, and realized I answered my own question a few months ago! ------------------------- Michael Sutherland michael@galactic-solutions.com http://galactic-solutions.com Edited: 2-May-2006 at 15:40 by Michael Sutherland |
