Here's my problem: I have one group who I want to be able to create, modify and delete objects within a module, but not update any of the module-level properties (e.g. prefix). I have a second group (the reviewers) who I want to be able to update a couple specific attributes on the objects, but I don't want them to be able to update anything else about the objects (including their links) or to create or delete objects.
I can give the first group Read and Create access at the module level with propogated Modify and Delete access. I don't want to give the second group this access profile because I don't want them to be able to delete existing objects or create new ones. I'd like to give them just Read access at the module level and Modify on the top-level objects (with inheritance below them), but it seems that they can't open the module for editing at all in that situation - not sure if this is a feature or a bug. To solve this it seems that I need to give them Modify access at the module level...but that allows them to modify the module-level properties, which I don't want! Has anyone run into this sort of thing before, and is there a way around it? Also, I know that I can prevent this group from updating other attributes by making them read-only for that group, but is there a way to also prevent them from updating the outgoing links on the object? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Adrian |

Yu could always give the group R access to those properties in the Edit>Attributes window. I think that's what you want.
