Answer:
Yeah, there's a DXL perm for that:

activateURL
Declaration
void activateURL(string url)
Operation
This is equivalent to clicking on a URL in a formal module.

Just pass it wherever you want to go. We put a link in our custom scripts menu to a web page with documentation, etc.

Does anyone know how to open up a computer's default web browser and pass it a url? I saw the thread on opening Internet Explorer. But I'm wondering if theres a way to launch Firefox if its set as the default browser from say a button on a dialog box.

Or maybe just put an ole link to a shortcut file in a rich text box or canvas that they can click on.

Thanks Chris. I looked through the DXL manual but this isn't listed under the HTML commands. But I guess that'd make too much sense....

Chris/David,

Regarding the 'activateURL' command, is there a way of jumping to a HREF within the URL?

I am opening an online help manual, but I wish to open the document at a specific point.

Any help appreciated,

Chris

Chris,

The same way you would link to a section via HTML...

activateURL "http://htmlhelp.com/faq/html/links.html#named-anchor"
