Hi
Does anyone out there use the DOORS-QC Integration tool that has been developed by Telelogic? We are looking into the possibility of using this tool. If you have used this tool, do you have any comments or encounter any issues? What version of DOORS and QC are you using? Any comments would be very much appreciated. Have a great day. ------------------------- Peter Dawson Engineering Tools Support Group Boeing Australia Limited |

Peter,
I am very experienced with this tool--using DOORS 8.2 and QC 9. something. ![]() I can give you more detail if you email me, but the long and short of it is that it works but it is VERY fragile. It is super easy to break. Not robust at all. It appears to have been made and maintained by a single programmer. There are menu items for features that don't even work. It's better to use the integration for publishing requirements to QC than to bring in data from QC. Just my opinion. Email me if you have specific questions without the marketing spin. ....It's better to use the integration for publishing requirements to QC than to bring in data from QC.... Hi Kevin, Can you provide some more detail about what you mean by this? Is this another separate integration between DOORS and QC or is this just an excercise involving exporting from DOORS in a certain format and then importing into QC? ------------------------- Paul Miller Specification Practices Specialist EuroCyber Melbourne, Australia Mobile: + 61 (0) 418 135 103 http://www.eurocyber.biz |

Paul,
I think you misread me--completely my fault, as my statement could be read multiple ways. What I meant to say was: "The integration is better at publishing data to QC than it is retrieving data from QC." On the version I'm using of the integration (3.1.0.1, IIRC), there are some commands to pull test results from QC. These are called QoS commands and they are stored in QoS attributes. There are 3 commands. Two of them don't work. Instead you get a message that says something like, "Not supporting in this version of the integration." Thus, pushing from DOORS to QC is easier than pulling from QC to DOORS and doing operations from the DOORS side. Is that more clear? ------------------------- Kevin Murphy http://www.baselinesinc.com |

Hi Peter,
We are also using the integration to push requirements from Doors to QC. These are used by test engineers to link their test cases in QC. We also synchronise the test cases that have been linked in QC back to Doors. Using the created Doors links we can do test coverage analysis in Doors. Linking in QC is not as intuative as in Doors, but when you start to understand QC it is okay. |
