Our company recently purchased DOORS and I was wondering if there is a way the Training Database could be used with DOORSnet, that way other analysts can go through the tutorials without taking turns at one workstation.

Thanks!

Not directly through the DOORS training database. Cannot publish as Eric McCall from the DOORS training database.

Eric McCall could archive the EasyStart project from the training database & then restore easystart.dpa for publication via DOORSNet in DOORS 7.1.

Thanks. I did that, seemed to go smoothly, but now I'm getting an error when attempting to pull up my access page for DOORSnet. Says either my server is busy or not running.

I checked - the server is running... and I'm the only one able to access the server, so.. I'm a bit baffled.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again

Hi Donna,

Sounds like the DOORSNet Session Manager service might have stopped.

You'll need to get onto the server where DOORS & DOORSNet is installed, open the Services window (look for "Administrative Tools" in the Control Panel) and check if the following two services are running.

DOORSNet Server 7.1
DOORSNet Session Manager

If either or both have stopped, it may have been because the server was restarted at some stage and one or both of these services failed to start. These two services have dependencies during server start-up conditions, read the "Managing DOORSnet" manual for more info or drop me an email if you're still stuck.

If you are using XP, the DOORSNet server 7.1 and DOORSNet Session Manager must be configured to that these 2 services do NOT start before the DOORS DB Server 7.1 and the FLEXlm License Manager. This is done by adding the DEPENDSonService value in registry subkeys under CurrentControlSet\Service.

Also for DOORSNet Session Manager

Hi Donna,

but please do not spend the effort if you want to do training on baselining! Viewing previous baselines is not possible with DOORSnet :-(( Only current versions are supported ...

The only hook to do that is setting up a new parallel DB, which is filled with the content of a certain baseline.

Just for info.

Regards
Hubertus
