I did not find any mysql specific code on this forum and I recently needed it, so heres what worked for me. You must have the mysql odbc driver installed. This does not use any DSN stuff, all is specified in the connection string.

This code shows you how to do a simple insert cause thats all I needed. It seems like actually getting data may be considerably harder, but I dont know. Anyway, the fundamentals are here.

I didnt (and still really dont) know anything about ado, so I used this example: http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.asp?ID=7308 It may help you figure out how to get data back from the record set. If you figure out how to do a SELECT, please post your method.

Harold,

I did some work with this a while ago connecting to an Access database, but I think this should work with MySQL.

Good luck,
Dennis
