Do we have access to the heading paragraph number?
![]() The heading number is a critical reference for us and I would like to include it in DXL attributes. Thanks. Debbie |

If you refer to the number displayed in front of headings (also visible in left pane), then use Object Number, a system attribute.

Debbie,
in dxl script: use number Declaration: string number(Object o) Operation: Returns the hierarchical object number (for example 2.1.1-0.1) of object o as a string. as in: obj.attrDXLName = "Heading Number of Object " obj."Absolute Number" " = " number( obj ) "\n" for an Attribute DXL example it is a psuedo Attribute like identifier() & level() Be very careful when using headings as hard & fast references. I have seen testing regimes using them with disastrous results :-( regards, ------------------------- Dave +44 (0)23 9270 5711 david.robbins@astrium.eads.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EADS Astrium, Anchorage Road Portsmouth. Be advised that heading numbering changes depending on whether Deletions are showing or not. If you really care about the Heading Number you probably want to be NOT showing deletions.
