When importing a csv spreadsheet in a module, Doors creates automatically an absolute number, which is identical to the Object ID. This is annoying, in particular because this absolute number appears in the Module Explorer, and I would rather see the first column from the spreadsheet to appear there. I do not want to have this absolute number at all, how can I avoid being created. I do not get an option in the import window to uncheck it...

What you describe has nothing to do with the importer, it is standard DOORS behaviour.
The absolute number is the unique identifier of the object that is created automatically by DOORS. It cannot be changed. The object Identifier is the module Prefix attribute concatenated with the object absolute number. If you don't want to see the ID column then you need to remove the column and save the view. 1. Right click on the ID column header and select Remove. 2. Select View > Save As... 3. Type in a name for your view and check the "Default for current user" box. 4. Click OK so save the view. You can move columns around by clicking on the header and dragging to a new position. ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com Edited: 7-Aug-2007 at 15:55 by Tony Goodman |

To add to Tony's post, you can use the Object Identifier as your key. So if you have a CSV with both Absolute Number and Object Identifiers, you can remove the Absolute Number column from the CSV.
