Hi All,
I am trying to export a DOORS formal module to Microsoft Word using a non-standard template. I get the following error: OLE method failed: OLE problem: This method or property is not available because there is a memory or disk problem. Any ideas on how I may circumvent this issue? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Pranav |

'memory or disk problem' are usually due to access rights. Have you checked you have write access to the target directory, and read access to any views/modules that you're access requires.

Hi all,
I customized Telelogic's export to word DXL script to export multiple views into a single word document. I essentially created a loop to load the different views and run the export script for each view. But I run into this error: OLE method failed: OLE problem: This method or property is not available because there is a memory or disk problem This happens on about the fifth view (about the 6700th exported object). The document is about 550 pages at this point. The DXL does not save the document and I do have read access to all views/modules necessary. In fact, I was exporting the same view in the same module over and over again just to test it. Anyone have any insight into this problem? If additional information is needed to give insight, please post!! Thanks, Quang Edited: 7-Nov-2008 at 18:45 by Quang Ngu |

Just a guess -- if you are saving after as number of objects --- word can create an error if lot of saves occurs.
Suggest reboot pc. |

I did not check the option to save after so many objects. Thanks for the heads up about that problem, I will most likely run into it in the future.

I'm getting the same error "OLE method failed: OLE problem: This method or property is not available because there is a memory or disk problem" on a c5300 object export from DOORS v71173 to MS WORD 2003 (11.8227.8221) SP3.
I'm using the standard Telelogic Export to Word. It occurs at almost (but not necessarily exactly) the same place every time. None of the object have visible or hidden OLE objects. I also do not have the checkbox set to save after xxx objects. I have also disabled MS WORDs save after xxx minutes, and have also default the .dot file to "normal view" rather than "print view" to speed up the export - it also failed in "print view" mind. The export is of a subset of the module, of which I have already exported two other (smaller) subsets using the same .dot file to the same target folder. I have no disk full issues on the target drive. Extremely frustrating. I use a script to filter the module on Section 5 to split up the export, is it possible to break a module up further (not section 5.1, I can do that but it's going to be tedious to split this section into 45 separate parts). Maybe filter sections 5.1 to 5.20, then 5.21 to 5.45) ? |

I have a similar problem when I use OLE to export large quantities of data to MS Excel. When I contacted Telelogic support, they suggested that the problem may be due to a limitation imposed by the operating system. This limitation can be addressed by following the steps as described by the Microsoft documentation which can be found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/...server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx When I tried to implement the suggested work-around, DOORS had problems finding the license file. Still trying to find a solutioin to this. I've had to restore my system, and find another work-around for my large exports (i.e. do several smaller exports and manually concatenate the files). Please note, when you play around with the OS settings, you are doing so at your own risk. |
