DOORS v8.1.0.6
WEXP v11.4.10
Word 2003 SP2

We have successfully integrated DOORS, WORD and WEXP to create a rather nice corporate Requirements Specification document from a module. The only issue we have is that we seem unable to lift the Document History out of a module.

Inline with the WEXP documentation we ran Company->WEXP Support Tools->Update document history section.

Several popups were confirmed and using the Edit->Attributes we see the new change doc attributes created.

Inline with WEXP documentation, we placed a DOCHIST bookmark into the .DOT file in Word, Insert->Bookmark.

So far so good.

When we export however, nothing appears at the DOCHIST bookmark.

According to the WEXP documentation we should be good to go! Clearly, something is wrong.

What else is required?

Thanks in advance.

Darren,

check if the value "DOCHIST" is set against the "WEXP Bookmark" attribute of the first object of your document history section in your module. Next make sure that this document history section is visible in the view that you are exporting. That should do the trick.

Thanks for the replay Karl.

This is where I am slightly confused....

There is no document history section as such. Our impression is that this is created and "hidden" using the Company->WEXP Support Tools->Create Document History section.

I cannot see a document history section. The WEXP manual refers to a "Document History View" but this is not selectable or even visible.

Ah, I see.
or maybe not.
You must have a different version 11.4.10 than we used to have (we switched to TREK version of WEXP a couple of months ago..). Our version 11.4.10 did not include "Company->WEXP Support Tools->Update document history", only an additional menu entry "Update document history section" to the WEXP menu.

I'll attach the code that worked for us (don't know how to attach as file)
Is the dochist.dxl or dochist.inc in your distribution encrypted? if not you can compare it with the attached code.

What it should do:
- create a handful of WEXP history attributes (version, date, user, description ... I don't remember their exact names)
- create a view based on those attributes
- create a new object as first object in module with "Document History" as object text
- set WEXP Bookmark to "DOCHIST" for that object
- create a new object for each baseline of the module and fill history attributes accordingly

hope that helps
