Hi -

How come this user friendly feature does not exist in DOORS5, DOORS6 or even DOORS7. I have heard that it did exist in DOORS4 but what happend to it? Well, what I am talking about is if you create a new Enumeration Type such as "Test" and start entering the values "1", "3", "2" (in that order) how come DOORS doesn't automatically sort the values as "1", "2", "3"? This has to be done manually and can be a really pain when you have to create a new Type that contains hundreds of values.

Just curious,
Pete

I would argue that it is extremely useful to be able to control the order in which enumerations are presented to the user.
For example, you may want to place the most commonly used enumeration first.

The integer values assigned to enumerations can be in whatever order is most convenient for processing with DXL.

What might be more useful is for DOORS to automatically assign values 0,1,2,... when you create new enumerations.

Perhaps this is different from what you are asking, but what I'd like to be able to do is to do a "mass import" of enumerations from a .csv or .txt file, so that if I've got 20 enumerations I don't have to manually enter each one. That way, you could whip up something in Excel, define your order, then pop it into DOORS.
