We are thinking of managing both our project capabilities and associated benefits into DOORS.

Currently they are held as relationship maps within Visio and whilst I can see benefit in managing the relationships within DOORS along with their traceability to the Requirement set, the benefits team would still like to see the relationships as diagram.

Is there anyway I can generate such a diagram based on the information in DOORS ?

If the data amount in modules is not large, then you could try graphical view in link module: open the link module containing the links and select graphical view.

If you have many objects this is useless, but for small amounts of objects it might work.

I have a graphical entity relationship viewer implemented in DXL. I didn't have a budget to buy a tool to do it. Unfortunately it belongs to my employer so I cannot share it. Besides it is still a little flakey.

Getting the relationship model from doors is simple.
The hardest part is doing the drawing.
In my experience so far it works well for small well structured projects, but falls over when the relationship model gets large.

I have not tried using COTS graph drawing packages, but I am guessing that would be the way to go.
There are loads out there, and most of them expect model input from a text file. All you need to do is export the model in the required format.

Best of luck.
