Hello -
We have several modules that represents a single document. I know that there is Shareable Edit but it made sense for us to split them. So the problem is that we need sequential section numbering: Module 1, for instance, contains 1, 2, 3.1 and Module 2 contains 3.2. In order to make this work, we have empty sections 1, 2, 3,1 in Module 2. This is not a very pretty solution but we could not figure out how to tell DOORS 7.1 to start a module at 3.2 (Level 2). Is there any way to tell DOORS 7.1 where to start the section numbering? Maybe some module-level property? Any feedback is appreciated! Joachim |

No.
The section number is calculated based on object's position in hierarchy. The only way you can influence that is by moving the object to another position. ------------------------- Pekka.Makinen@softqa.fi SoftQA Oy -http://www.softqa.fi/ |

Hello -
Thanks for your reply. I realize that the section number defines the position of the object but so does the heading number in Word.
I just think that would be a nice feature but oh well ...
Thanks,
Joachim

You can create the view you want using a filter.
In your second module, create a filter that includes the object 3.2. Include descendants, but exclude ancestors. Save this in a view and set the view to be the default for the module. ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com |
