Is there a way to determine if a link has been deleted?
Has a link been deleted if there is the term '[unloaded object]' in the ID and Object/Heading text means in the link attributes? |

"[unloaded object]" means that the module at the other end of an inlink isn't open, and thus DOORS can't tell what the Object Heading/Text is there.
As for links being deleted, I think once you delete them they're gone entirely---there is no "Purge" function for links. They do leave a trail in the Object history though. (Now, if an object with a link is deleted but not purged, strange things can happen on the other end of the link. That's a different story...) |

You can look at the history of an object if your running DOORS 8.1 or later... As of 8.1 link creation and deletions are recorded in the object's history.

And to add to what Scott said...
Pre DOORS 8.1, a link either exists or it doesn't. Thus if you knew the link existed last week, and it doesn't exist this week, it was deleted. ------------------------- Kevin Murphy http://www.baselinesinc.com The Requirements Management Experts |

Along those same lines, once you have a handle on a History record object that is of type "deleteLink", what is the DXL code that allows you to get the information about the link that was deleted?
For example, if you look at the object's history, there is an entry for "Delete out-link". When you click on this, it gives you the "Link Information" in the panel below which lists the Link module and the Target module and Object Absolute number. How do you get this via DXL? Link module: /Project/DOORS Links Target module: /Project/Requirements, object 6 Thanks, Dennis |
