Hi Ewen,
My short answer is "No" but can I offer some advice w.r.t. these claimed integrations? Firstly, the experience I've had with most (not all) tool integrations has been one of disappointment, being under-whelmed by the claimed advantage and then being over-whelmed with the amount of administration & training required to keep users and the integration happy - particularly when new versions of tools\integrations are released and you get into a version dependency rut. Secondly, work flow management is a good idea but when they are implemented electronically, they place a lot of constraints on what you can and can't do. They are often not very flexible when an exceptional unforseen event turns up which the workflow doesn't cater for. If your environment is one where there is a high degree of repetition (like making McDonalds hamburgers) then yes, an electronic imposed workflow system might be useful to achieve consistency of the end product that brings in the money. However, if your environment is one where each project has it's own degree of novelty, then workflows are still needed but they also need to be flexible and should possibly stay on paper as much as possible so that humans can quickly adopt a work-around when an exception turn up. ------------------------- Paul Miller Specification Practices Specialist, EuroCyber, Melbourne, Australia.
