Hi

I am trying to use "PartitionDefinition" option.

If someone have an example how to use it (create, import ... and Rejoin Module) via DXL it will help me a lot.

should i teach my users to do it manually or make life easy with DXL?
What is your recommendation?

If you want to make life easy -- don't use partitions

Whilst I would agree that the Partition feature of DOORS has had bit of a checkered history, what I find this feature rather useful for is for defining a sanitised version of a project.

You define a partition where you choose what modules, links, attributes and views a customer/sub-contractor should have. Set the partition access rights to read-only for everything. Export the partition, import it, and then return it but leave a copy of the imported partition behind. This remaining copy can then be archived and sent out.

Because everything is defined with read-only rights, nothing is locked up on the home database when the export is executed. It's sort of a non-returnable partition used solely for the purposes of defining a santised version of a project which can be used over and over again and easily modified. And what's more - no DXL required
