To be specific:
I have an attribute (called M1) whose Type is Object Status. Object Status has the enumerations FALSE, TRUE, DEFERRED, and NA. I received a request to have different enumerations in the M1 attribute (ENABLED, DISABLED, and PURCHASABLE) for just the Configurable Options section of the module. The user does not want these new enumerations to be available for the M1 attribute on any other objects in the module. So I created a new Type (called LO) with enumerations ENABLED, DISABLED, and PURCHASABLE. I also have a Yes_No attribute with values YES and NO. If I set only the objects in the Configurable Options section to YES for the Yes_No attribute, can I write a script that will change the Type of the M1 attribute to LO if the Yes_No attribute = YES? Thanks for any help, Nancy |

No, an attribute can have only one type. If you rename the enumerations of an enumerated type, btw, the apparent values displayed may match the OLD values until you update them manually.
What you can do, however, is have an Attr-DXL called 'M1' that displays whatever you want, and it certainly can be sensitive to whether the object is in the Configurable Options sections. Rename M1 to perhaps M1-Base. Create new attribute 'M1' of type 'string' that's an attr DXL. That Attr DXL will look something like the attached. - Louie |

Thanks for your quick response, Louie. This looks good; I will play around with it tomorrow.
