I have deleted a LinkSet in a LinkModule. I was asked to confirm deletion, and the Linkset disappeared. The strange thing is that the links are still visible in the modules. In the properties of the links the (deleted) linkset is still visible. Has anyone else had this Problem before? I can delete the links in the source-module, but I'd really like to know why deleting the linkset didn't work... -- Fabian Linke

My only recommendation would be to make sure you deleted the linkset from the correct link module.

1.) Open Object Properties (where link is still visible)
2.) Select Link Tab
3.) Identify the Link Module for the still visible link
4.) Go to this Link Module and delete link set

I have seen links that were 'accidentally' created in the default "DOORS Links" link module instead of the link module that was expected.

Fabian, yes i've had the same problem. Unfortunately I dont know a solution. And in a large module with many objects I wont be going through 1 by 1 to delete the link.

Thanks for the Script, Reik. I'll just hope it won't happen again. I've seen it only once since i'm using DOORS, so it should be all right.. well.. its DOORS.. ;-)

I'm pretty sure the source links disappear the next time you login. It wouldn't surprise me if deleting the link-set does NOT update the display of the open source module.

It also could be that you lack Edit rights to the source module, so when you delete the link set it coulnd't delete the links. That could be a problem.

If linkset pairings have not been defined for a module then the potential exists to link between two modules using various link modules causing chaos. I also always ensure that linking is only allowed for specified pairings.
