I have seen this in examples and not sure what it means (\")
For example: const string attrName_1 = \"AL-State\" Thanks for your help, I looked everywhere for the answer. |

The slash \ is the escape character in DXL. You can use it in strings so that special characters (like the ") are interpreted as part of the string. For example, \" puts the double quote character into that string rather than terminating it. If you want to print
"Hello world!" (instead of Hello world!) you would enter print "\"Hello world!\"". Your example seems to be missing the outside quotes though. Hope this helps. Edited: 3-Aug-2005 at 19:31 by Chris Jones |
