![]() Answer: Whole version databases use the same database format: v8.1 archives are the same as v8.3 archives. You cannot restore a higher version module in a lower version database: a v8 database cannot restore a v9 archive. You can restore a lower version module in a higher version database: a v9 database can indeed restore a v8 archive. - Louie | |

Can a Doors 9.0 module be opened in v8.3 ? Can an 8.3 Module be opened in Doors 9.0 ? Can an 8.1 Module be opened in Doors 9.0 ? Could some one let me know your findings and an explanation for each scenario ? Regards Alejandro |

Can a Doors 9.0 Module be opened in v8.1?
No. Can a Doors 9.0 module be opened in v8.3 ? No. Can an 8.3 Module be opened in Doors 9.0 ? Yes, but then it can not be reopened in 8.3 as it is converted to 9.0. Can an 8.1 Module be opened in Doors 9.0 ? Yes, but then it can not be reopened in 8.1 as it is converted to 9.0. Basically once a module is converted to a newer version of DOORS it can not be opened by an earlier version of DOORS. ------------------------- Scott Boisvert Engineering Tools Administrator L-3 Communications - Avionics Systems scott.boisvert@l-3com.com |
