Hi

When I import Word documents to Doors , it brakes all grouped objects to single object, for instance if I have 5 arrows with one image , in Doors it will appears as six different objects.

Is there a way to overcome this problem?

If you group the drawing objects in Word, they will come in as a single DOORS object.

Hi
That's not very accurate, they will be broken to few objects as if they were ungrouped

Each word EOL will generate a new DOORS object (although there may be exceptions for EOLs inside tables). If you want to group several paragraphs into a single DOORS object, replace the EOLs that separate them with Line Feeds.

An EOL in word is entered with the ENTER key.
A LF in word is entiered with a shft-ENTER key.
An EOL in word Find looks like ^p.
a LF in word Find looks like ^l.

LFs in word are translated back to DOORS EOLs AFTER import.

Its strongly advised that before importing you take mindful consideration on each and every EOL in the word document, since they dictate object boundaries. So you should Find the ^p, look at each, then find-next. When you come to an EOL where you do NOT want a new object, but you want a new paragraph, type shft-ENTER to change it to an LF. When you come to double EOLs you no doubt want to delete one of them. Be mindful of EOLs around diagrams, you probably want them to be LFs in order to keep the diagram caption in the same object as the diagram.

I cannot imagine doing the work in the above paragraph unless you are viewing formatting marks in wordL Tools menu >Options >View tab, select 'All' in the middle under 'Formatting Marks'. There is also a view-all toggle in the menu par.
