Has anyone upgraded to the lastest version 7.1, if so how do you like it?

We migrated from 7.0 SP1 to 7.1, after having used 7.0 for a couple of months (before that we were on 5.2).
The general impression that 7.0 is much heavier on system resources (especially memory on client side) has not changed with 7.1. It has some useful new features, such as find/filtering also on columns in view (Layout DXL). Migration went without a glitch. ------------------------- Pieter de Waard www.nhindustries.com |

We upgraded to DOORS 7.1 from DOORS 7.0SP1 several weeks ago mainly because it included the fix for anonymous logon in DOORSnet. The DOORS side seems to be working OK. Anonymous logon by users to DOORSnet has now returned with version 7.1. Some minor problems in DOORSnet with the DOORSnet session manager turning itself off and for some projects users were initially not able to see published views. So far it seems that DOORS 7.0 SP1 clients can work successfully with a DOORS 7.1 database server.

Have migrated several sites from v5.2 to v7.1, no migration hitches were observed. As for new functions - they're nice but they just seem to lack "polish" and are a bit clunky. I wish they could get around to providing interactive graphical representations of module relationships and properties, drive's users nuts having to open modules to find out what other modules they are linkg with. ------------------------- Paul Miller Specification Practices Specialist, EuroCyber, Melbourne, Australia. We.ve been testing 7.1 since release and are moving next week. I would say that the 7 to 7.1 upgrade can be a bit clunky on the client side, notably if you have user DXL in the menu system. A couple of the features and bug fixes in 7.1 are very useful, I like the changes to the clone tool, and the chance to display other attributes in a table.

What sort of issues did you see with having DXL in menus? What actions did you take as a result? We are developing a test plan in preparation for our migration from 6.0SR1 to 7.1 this summer. Any information is greatly appreciated!
