I agree with Pekka, I saw some thing similar to this and it wasn't until we ran a sniffer between the server and the client that we picked up on the packets being blocked. When we turned off the win XP firewall, it worked like a charm.

Hello:

I am setting up several clients with version 7.1 (windows 2K and XP).  The Windows 2K clients are having no problems finding the license file on the server.  However, both our win XP clients (even after performing the proper flexlm setup, can't find the license file.  Has anyone seen this problem before?

Are you running the Windows Firewall on the XP clients? Check the settings in Control Panel.

We placed the license file on the client machine and that resolved the problem.  thanks for the assistance..it seems likely that it was an xp firewall issue.
