Our customer would like to be able to build up a DOORS database using some of our modules. To begin with, we'd like to provide them with the Level 1 Modules (which contain no link files).

I have found no way to do this from the client side software. Is it possible to access the server directly and simply 'copy' these modules directly onto a memory stick and provide them to our customer so that they may import them into a new project using a completely separate database?

Archive the modules and restore them to the new database. For more information, look Archive and Restore functions in DOORS Help.

Thanks Pekka. If I choose to archive by individual modules, how can I restore the links?

..never mind, I found it mysel:

'Links that are entirely contained within the restored modules are preserved.
A link is preserved if the set of restored modules includes the link's source and
target module, and its link module.'

Well, yes, if you archive and restore a project.

But if you archive individual modules, you have to store the linked objects' absolute numbers in the module you are archiving and then restore the links by running Link by Attribute.
