Why does this forum not seem to capture line breaks? This post was originally on two lines, not one.

This "feature" is browser-dependent. Posts written in IE do contain line breaks, posts written in Firefox do not. At least that's my statistical experience based on 2 attempts ...

Cheers,

Peter

P.S.: This initial post was written using "Quick-Reply" and then edited using the "Edit (text)" link below the message. While the initial post ignored line breaks, the edited post does show them.

If you're using the built-in facilities (editor etc) of the forums, I think it depends on whether you use the 'Reply' (text) button or the 'quick reply' (180° arrow), and how you have your preferences set:
o The quick reply seems to ignore line breaks.
    o The 'Reply' formats neatly.
o Under 'profile/Personal Options', use the HTML editor, not WYSIWYG.

This post was written using the HTML editor, after hitting the 'Reply' (text) button immediately after Peter's post.
Then it was edited using the 'Edit' (text) button under this post.

Testing 1 2 3 Hmmm, I posted this using firefox on a linux machine(ubuntu) the initial reply using 'quick post' was "testing 123" Added this last bit by using the 'Edit' function, and a linebreak before 'Added', lets see what happens?
