Answer:
Pekka, I think Brant's root requirement is to reset the object IDs of a module. What version of DOORS are you using Brant? 7.1 has an option to clone all the objects in a module (including the leaves) with links if required.

We use this, but you need a script to populate any custom attributes that you have. (I've attached the one that I use)

I am copying objects from one module to another one, and the links are not getting copied. All my links in the original document are out-links, which should be copied according to the DOORS Help. I am copying objects using drag-and-drop. I've tried messing around a bit with linksets in the new module, but no matter what I do I cannot seem to get the links copied with thier associated object. What am I doing wrong?

Try using Object Copier under Tools>Functions>Copy Objects
Check the Create Linkbox (you may have to change the link direction pull-down to "Source to Target")

That's not quite what I'm looking for. Let's say I have Document A, which has out-links to Document B (I'll denote this as A-->B). I want to make a Document C by copying everything in Document A. I want the A-->B links to be copied as C-->B links. It looks like the option in the Object Copier will create links from C to A (or A to C, depending on what I choose in the direction pull-down menu) for each copied object.

If you want to copy all the objects with their links, why not just copy the the whole module in DOORS database view? Then your links will copy as you want them.

Thanks Graham. I am indeed attempting to reset my object IDs. I've saved the DXL you've provided, but unfortunately we're currently running 7.0 SP1. As long as it is truly possible to reset my object IDs in a cloned module, links and all, I will continue to work on my "sandbox" copy. Then once we get 7.1 up and running I'll do the final clone/reset. Thanks for your help and the script.

Sorry, I'm just trying to mark Graham's response as the answer, instead of mine! He deserves the credit!

This does not work for me. Copying the module in the database view only copies the objects in the module, not the links to those objects. We have also tried baselining the module and then copying the baseline, but then our new baseline has no links, either (!). Is DXL going to be the only way to copy objects with links?
