DOORS allows to archive user accounts and user group definitions. It also allows to restore them as whole. Restoring would replace all current user account and user group settings.

DOORS allows to create a new user account with the same settings as a previously deleted user. But since acess control relies on the unique ID, the new user account is despite the same naming a different user.

Therefore my question: Is there a way to restore a single user?

I am aware of no supported way of doing this. You could always try hacking the files on the server...

That's why my rule is never delete users. Ever. Always disable.

For this issue, what i did was to create a module with all the current users information in separated attributes and then created an attribute called "Active Tru or False?"
I created a script to create users that will let me populate all the information of a user and save it into that module and a script tp delete users that will change the attribute "Active True or False?" and to reinstate the user i created another script that will popoulate the users that have been deleted "Active True or False" == False
and that way I can recreate the account with the information specified in the folder.

I delete the users to reduce the amount of time that the manage users take loading the directory.

I can post the script if you want me.

That seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through...also, when you recreate the user, that user has a different userid (the first DOORS creates is 0x00001, the second is 0x00002, etc.), so deleting a user and recreating it later is not the same, as if you delete user 0x00002, that uniqueID is never used again.

Why not use the Telelogic Directory Server? It's a little easier to work with, is it not? (I just started using it myself....)
