I have not been able to find a way to implement the following idea, so I thought maybe someone out there may know of a solution.

I want to have a "Master" Module and multipile "Serialized" Modules attached to a corresponding "master". When a change is made to the master, I would like a question to be asked something like "Would you like to make changes to all serialized modules?"

Clicking "Yes", would go and update the serialized modules with the changes that were made to the master.

I hope that didn't sound confusing.... Please let me know if there is built-in functionality for this or if you have any ideas on scripts that may be able to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Mark

I'm sure I don't quite understand correctly, but am sure there is no automated way to do what you want.

Are you asking "My Serialized objects are linked to my Master objects. When I update an attribute value of an object in a Master module I want to prompt to update the same value in in-linked partner objects in Serialized modules"? If so, consider the attached code.

Such trigger code gets real sticky and I don't recommend it for the feint-of-heart.

Be advised that DOORS has this stuff called "suspect links" that you would consider from the "Serialized Modules": when the master is updated some flag gets set suggesting that since the link master object's change date is older than the link, its possible you want to update the Serialized object. I haven't looked into it but it seems somewhat promissing.

Thanks, I think that might do it for me.
