Is there something like 'if(exists attribute object."bla")' for attrRef(dot-notation)?

No. Objects either exists or not, and attributes either exist or not. If an object exists and an attribute exists, then the object.attribute also exists, although you may not be able to see ..err.. Read it. IIRC, if you can see the object and also see the attribute then you can also Read the object.attribute.
