Hi,
I created a formal module with doors using the functions "new object at this level", "new object below" mixed with the Ctrl-T shortcut for text-only items.
I would expect that the text-only items are below the level of the nearest heading (moving vom text-item upwards).
Now I found out, that my hierarchy ist somehow arkward. For example some text-only items are below the level of the nearest Heading, some are at higher levels.
Although I found this irritating, I see that there are good reasons for this behaviour. My question is: How can I fix my hierarchy as quick as possible?
E.g. is there a way to set the hierarchy level of an object? (This might also be helpful for maintaining the heading hierarchy)
Can I do this in bulk? (I.e. selecting several text-only items and set them all to the same hierarchy level)
Thanks in advance,
Laura

If your module is not too large, I would suggest cut and paste.
Select the text item and cut (standard windows shortcuts work eg Ctrl X), then right click on the heading and 'paste one level down'. You can select multiple objects if they are together in the document by using Shift+click, don't forget that if you cut an object, you also cut everything hierarchically underneath it. It might be useful to display the object level attribute while you are doing this. If you have a huge module, or you think you are going to need to do this again, you might want to consider a DXL solution. My guess is that next time, you will get the initial input right, and you would probably spend more time messing about trying to get the DXL working than you would spend fixing the problem manually. When you are inputting data in the first place, the good keyboard shortcuts are Ctrl N for New object at this level Ctrl L for new object one Level down Ctrl T for edit object Text Ctrl H for edit object Heading no need for a mouse at all. You could just drag and drop the objects to a new location in the heirarchy. For example, if you have an item at 1.1 and it needs to be at 2, click it and then drag it on top of the object at 1. Then from the menu that appears, choose Move -> After. By choosing 'After', it'll now be at the same heirachy level.

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to when more than one item is selected.

There is a trick to selecting and then dragging multiple objects:
1. Click to select the first object 2. Hold down shift, click the last object and keep the mouse button pressed (if you release the mouse button at this stage, the next step will change the selection back to only one object. 3. With the mouse button still pressed, drag the selected objects |
