Hi:

I would like to modify the existing Telelogic word.dxl script to be smart enough to use an alternative word template.

I have restricted documents that are identified as "Restricted" in the module description.

I would like to run the word export that comes with DOORS, but have the script check if the current module description says "Restricted". If so, the script then uses a different word template (let's say Restricted.dot) rather than the standard normal.dot template.

Is there a way to do that? So far, I've only been successful in modifying the script to append the "Restricted" heading at the top of the Word document before it continues exporting the contents of the module into Word.

Janet,

Which version of DOORS are you using. I opened the v.6 export to doors script included with the package (/lib/dxl/standard/export/office/word.dxl) and at the bottom of the comments is the following:

Support for exporting to a named template (other than normal.dot, for instance
in order to insert contents of a DOORS module into a corporate standard template
with headers, footers, logo etc.) is included in the advanced options.

and further down in the code is the following line:

string templateName = "normal.dot"

If you are not using v.6.1, then I can recommend it... otherwise you might want to contact Telelogic support to see if this script will work with back versions of DOORS. Should save you some heartburn.

Mark

The same capability exists in the V5.2 export. Just search the file for normal.dot to find the location
