So, another question requiring a potentially violent hack: is there any way, one could "freeze" a column (could be pre-defined), so that scrolling left through columns would not affect it? A bit similar to Excel.

No way to do that :-(

The formal module window is not implemented in DXL, so you cannot alter its behaviour, other than changing menus.
