Export from the main column only (Object Heading and Object Text). Filter on Object Heading not empty to show only Object Heading. In the Export To WORD window uncheck 'Include DOORS Heading Number'.

You must define the Word format style "Normal" in your template file according to your wishes, or use the "Paragraph Style" attribute to assign other (available) styles to your Object Heading or Object Text.

The font you see when looking at a module is most likely the your default viewing font. That is, you can see one font and someone else see another. That is, object rich text doesn't define the font. (I think it can now, but in earlier releases it could not). When you export you get the MS-Word font, most likely from the 'normal' style.

First, check if the exported Word file is really attached to the template like you assume: in the Word file, select "Tools --> Templates and Add-Ins". Check that in the "Templates" tab, the filename listed under "Document template" is really the template where the format style "Normal" is defined as you said. If it is not, then make sure that at the next export you untick the checkbox at "Use normal template" and choose the correct template file in the export dialog box.
If the file is attached to the correct template, check the format style definitions. Mind that they are case-sensitive, thus if the style "normal" is defined as you said, it won't help, as the style "Normal" (with capital N) will be applied to the Object Text. Check this by putting the cursor somewhere in the text with the style "Normal" applied to it, and select "Format --> Styles and Formatting" from the menu bar. Check that you have defined the correct style in the way you want to. A simple test is to double-click on the template file, which creates a new file attached to the template. Type some text and make sure it has the format style "Normal". If it is not in the formatting you want it to be, something is wrong with the style definitions in your template. Once it works correctly with this file, it should work correctly with the DOORS export. Cheers, Peter |

Template is attached and all parameters of the style looks like in template, but only font type is always "Arial". What else can I do to solve this problem???

How is the case when you create a new file from the template (by double-clicking) and create some "Normal" text. Is it Arial or Times New Roman? If it Arial, the problem is a pure MS Word problem, if it is Times New Roman, the problem most likely lies with the export.

Now, in the file exported from DOORS, is the format style of the Object Text "Normal" or is it something like "Normal + Arial"?
Edit: Forgot the obvious: Probably you have something strange in your "Paragraph Style" attribute? Peter Edited: 17-Aug-2007 at 14:18 by Peter Albert |

All right, a fresh week, let's give it a new try. First of all, I would suggest to make a little clean test of the export procedure and the style assignment, to avoid possible pitfalls with the existing template / module. So. I would suggest that you create a new module with just a few Object Headings and Text, and a new template with a "Normal" style with a quite noticeable style definition, something with red font, italics, etc. Then you export the module to Word, using the new template, and hope that all goes as expected. If it doesn't, well, we'll see ... But if this export goes well, you can export the existing module with the test template, and the test module with the existing template, and see if one of the combinations fails and the other one not, narrowing down the possible error sources.
Cheers, Peter |

As for the last part, all other attributes are actually per default exported into the "Normal" style without a chance for the user to change this. Object Heading and Text's style can be modified using the "Paragraph Style" attribute, but I don't quite see what's going on in your case. It seems as if the exporter does not change the style but the style definition, which I have never seen happen before. Sorry, but I have no further idea as to try to get Telelogic support on this ...
