I moved my kithcen and PSToolbox scripts to a share drive, but am having trouble getting them to show up even though I am using the addins command line switch as follows: "C:\Program Files\Telelogic\DOORS_8.2\bin\doors.exe" -u "Standard User" -P password -a "\\pcboxer\groups\Share\DOORS"
I tried this on version 8.0 and 8.2. Any suggestions on what the problem could be? |

In the DXL manual, search for section 'The DXL Library and Addins menus' in chapter 'DOORS Window Control'.
That 'DOORS' folder would need to have a sub-folder lets call it 'Kitchen-Scripts' and it would need to have a file named 'DOORS.hlp' and 'DOORS.idx'. Its possible things will work even when both those files are empty. It won't make much sense for that DOORS folder to have anything else in it. Sub-folder 'Kitchen-Scripts' will likewise need to have two files, 'Kitchen-Scripts.hlp' and 'Kitchen-Scripts.idx', as well as the DXL files themselves. <the *.hlp and *.idx files must be named to be exactly the same as the name of the folder they are in> If you do that, the 'Kitchen-Scripts' menu should appear in the module window. If you use the 'addins' parameter (the '-a' switch), the addins appear in an open module window. If you use the 'projectaddins' parameter (the '-J' switch), the addins appear in the module explorer. It makes sense to have two such folders, one contains scripts that can work on the current folder and do not require a current module; the other contains scripts that require a current module. If so, perhaps you want folders named 'DXL-Module' and 'DXL-Folder'. The DXL files themselves must have a comment line and a comment block, otherwise they won't appear in the menu. - Louie |
