Can somebody help out a newbie?
I've got an attribute called 'Requirement Identifier'.  Inside this attribute I've got an ID.  This ID is actually the Object ID from the functional specification.  I need to create a DXL that reads the ID in one module and creates a link with the matching Object ID in the functional specification.  Some objects may have two ID's, others may have none.

I was trying to modify this program http://www.smartdxl.com/dxltools.html 'Automatically Create Links Between Modules' to no success.

example
------------------------------
Reqirement Identifier

PFS1111                |
PFS1212                |

PFS1234                |
------------------------------
PFS2222                |

If the 'Requirement Identifier' contained the Object's Absolute Number, the built-in tool accessible via "Link->Link by attribute" would do. For all other situations, a tool from the kitchen library can help, namely "Link objects using a key attribute". In your case, you have two options: you can either remove the module prefix 'PSF' from the 'Requirement Identifier' values and use the built-in tool, or you get yourself the kitchen scripts.

Regards,

Peter

You say "Some objects may have two ID's, ...." That is going to cause grief later.
The golden rule is one object one identifier.
If there are multiple requirements in an object split them into individual objects.

The biggest cause of grief will be trying to write dxl able to decide which of the ids you want to show in link and traceability tables.
