I am trying to copy the content of additional attributes in addition to the object heading and text attributes from a read-only module to a newly created empty exclusive edit module. I tried every option using Copy Objects and Paste Special, but the additional attributes columns are blank. Is there a way to copy the content of these additional attributes?
Thanks!
Jim S.

Yes, I used Copy Objects, but it only copied over the attribute heading and left all the content blank. I just discovered that this blank attribute is a DXL Attribute type. So is the answer that the DXL Attribute Type contents cannot be copied?
Thanks, Jim S.

Just tested this with DOORS 8.3 and DXL attributes are copied by Copy Objects, i.e. the code producing the value for DXL attribute is copied. Maybe your DXL code does not produce any value in the module you copied it to? This might happen especially with traceability DXL attributes.

James,
within Copy Objects have you tried setting the "Copy:" dropdown to All objects and also highlighted all of the Attribute Names listed in the window below?

Object Heading, Short Text and Text are highlighted by default, but any additional attributes need to be added, either by selecting a dragbox over the required attributes or by holding down the Ctrl key to select individual ones.

I just tried copy object with an attribute with the first dxl type in the collection that comes with DOORS and the attribute did copy over but the value did not. I'm thinking the copy object function doesn't copy the dxl types therefore can't copy the value. What version are you running?
