Hi,
I have a Doors 7.1 formal document that has basically the following structure:
Column 1: Object ID
Column 2 = type "Object text" : English text
Column 3 = text type : French text
Column 4 = text type : German text
...Etc for other languages.
The aim is to export the document to Excel with only column 2 (English text) filled in (other columns are present in the file but empty). The file is sent to translators that will fill the other columns.
Then I get back the Excel file, convert it to CSV, and want to import it in Doors.
Problem is that when I do this, Doors creates new object and never updates the existing ones, which is big issue since the automatic ID given by Doors is an absolute ID used as a reference for software implementation, technical publications, etc.
I did select the option "update existing object" option ans used the column "ID" as a key in the pop-up that comes after. What's wrong then?
Regards,
Nicolas

Nicolas:
ID column should be renamed to ''Absolute Number" (This assumes you do not have any module prefix. If you have a module prefix -- you need to add a column of Absolute Number or remove the prefix from your Absolute Numbers in you CSV file.) Absolute Number is the attribute to be used as the key to update objects. The ID is usually not an attribute but is usually a label for the identifier of the objects. Or you can rename ID to "Object Identifier"....
