If I enter an object below level 1 (for example), it will have an object level of 2.

I then type in a bunch of stuff and add some level 3 objects below the level 2 object.

What if I decide the level 2 object should actually be a level 1 object? Can I "promote" the object? And how about the level 3 objects below the level 2 object. Can I "promote" those objects simultaneously?

I found a DXL script under "kitchen" that approximately does this.

You cannot move objects while sorting or filtering is on. If you move an object, all its children likewise move. So if you move to level 1 a level 2 object that has a subordinate level 3 object, then that subordinate, of course, becomes level 2, still subordinate to the same object.

You move to level 1 by moving such an object "after" some other level 1 object. To make an object the very first one in the module, move it "after" the current top object, then move the current top one after the one you want to be top.

You move "after" or "below". That's deceptively simple and in practice is often non-intuitive. Be SURE to be showing the "Object Level" and I suggest the "Object Number" columns when moving stuff around.
