The flush command says the following:

quote:

Declaration
void flush(Stream s)

Operation
Flushes the output stream s. Character I/O can be buffered; this command forces any such buffers to be cleared.

Can anyone think of any examples when this command should be used or not used?

Thanks,

Hi Paul,

I use the flush when I have a script that is going to take awhile to run, but I want to look in the output file for results while it is stil processing, in that case I flush at say the end of each module I process.

Not sure if there is much performance hit, I haven't noticed it much.

Golly, and I've been closing and reopening the report file each time....

In fact, one of my scripts closes and reopens after each reported line. Guess I'll play with Flush...
