I hope this question has not been repeated many times and/or isn't too elementary but why is it that I cannot sort/filter on the Object ID? It seems like a simple function yet I cannot get it to happen. Am I missing something?

Filter on the Absolute Number. The Object ID is the Prefix + Absolute Number. Since the Prefix is fixed the Absolute Number works fine.

Seager is right. However, filtering on Absolute number doesn't seem to useful, why would you want all Objects whose AbsNo starts with "234"? Try "going" <cntrl-G> to an Object. Also note that sorting on AbsNo has the same meaning as "sort on create time".

Do you know if there is any way to sort on Object ID? A possible script?

Object ID is the DXL "identifier". Here's one that uses the corresponding Absolute Number, putting the biggest numbers at the top (most recently created objects first).
