Answer:
Thanks Ron.

This is what I asked for and almost what I want.  I would have liked a way of writing directly in the template as text, not writing as a heading and then converting the heading to text.  But I guess you can't always get exactly what you want.

I have been using the template command to create a module template from dxl.  This command seems to be very useful for creating a template of heading objects, but I can't work out how to add text objects. I have multiple heading objects and would like to add a text object below each of them.

Does anybody know how this can be done?

Here is a demo I created that will do what you asked for -- of course what you asked for may not be what you wanted.

// Computer Operation Manual (COM)

/* Demo to change level 3 heading to object text.

*/

Template COM = template "Scope" <<

"Identification" <>

"Computer system overview" <>

"Document overview" >>

"Referenced documents" <>

"Computer system operation" <<

"Computer system preparation and shutdown" <<

"Power on and off" <>

"Initiation" <>

"Shutdown" >>

"Operating procedures" <<

"Input and output procedures" <>

"Monitoring procedures" <>

"Off-line procedures" <>

"Other procedures" >>

"Problem-handling procedures" >>

"Diagnostic features" <<

"Diagnostic features summary" <>

"Diagnostic procedures" <>

"Diagnostic tools" >>

"Notes" <>

"Appendixes"

instance COM

Object o

Module m = current

int i
for o in m do

{ i = level o

if(i==3)

{ o."Object Text" = o."Object Heading" ""

o."Object Heading"=""

}

}
