Has anybody ever received the following error when archiving:

zip error: Internal logic error (write error on zip file)

I get this error whenever I try to archive certain modules (but not all). If I copy the module, I still get the error on the copy, even when I remove most of the data in the copy. My current test module now has a total of 31 objects (1 containing an OLE).

I am not running out of disk space (I can successfully archive significantly larger modules/projects). I can also zip up the files using WinZip with no errors.

We are seeing the error in v5.2 and v6 (not in v7 so far). The Telelogic help desk hasn't been able to determine the cause.

If anybody has seen this error before and solved it, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try to delete the module. Do you get an error? (if not be sure to undelete it).

Try to move the module to another folder? Error?

I can delete it, move it, copy it, link to/from it. Basically, I can do anything I want to within DOORS. The only time I get any strange behavior is when I try to archive the module or project.

I had difficulty archiving a module that was traced to launching DOORS with a " -project " tag to open immediately to a specific project. When I tried to archive that project, even though it appeared closed in the Database view, apparently DOORS still considered it open due to the command line tag.

I was getting a "lock" error, but it may be something similar for your problem.

The -project command line switch is an artifact from DOORS v4 where you actually logged into individual projects. In v5 (and presumably v6 and v7) it has some problem where the project was locked in one sense but not in another. It doesn't work.

Also, even if it DID work you cannot archive the current project because YOU have it open. The project/module needs to be selected in the RIGHT pane (not open) before you archive it. You cannot archive the current project.

I just thought I would update our progress on this issue.

We initially saw the problem in two projects. One project was in v5.2, the other in v6.0. We had previously tried moving the modules around within a project, but when Louie suggested trying to move the modules we created a completely new project and moved everything into the new project (as a test). When we did that with the v5 project, we could then archive the new project. This did not work in v6 though.

Currently I am trying to determine if it has something to do with deleted/not purged objects (there are some of those in the project).
