Hey I need to retrieve OLE objects from DOORS server and pass them over to sockets so that they can accessed from a External Program.
How can I retrieve OLE objects using DXL script?
Does any one here have any idea how this can be achieved?
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Manju

If you are asking how to browse the database folder hierarchy looking for OLE objects ... good luck.
See DXL manual chapter 'OLE Objects' section 'OLE Information Functions' example 2. It saves each OLE in an obj-attr to its own file. If you add a check for 'null ole' before trying to save the OLE to a file, it should work. If you are going to invoke each OLE and perhaps let the user edit it, then I'm not sure how to do that. The OLE commands are backwards compatible to v5.2 days where an OLE diagram was in the object, and not in any particular attribute; and they didn't expand the commands. They should have added an 'oleActivate(attrRef, index)' command that let you activate the 2nd OLE in that attribute. - Louie |
