![]() Answer: I thought so, too. However, I think that the situation I am trying to resolve is an error from the start. The link: obj V2 --> obj V1 is an error in my opinion. I will better create a layout that shows the objects with links and their version, so people can resolve the errors first. Thank you for looking into it, Octavian | |

Hi,
I have a dxl column (layout) that shows in-linked objects. However I like to apply the current filter from the current module to the in-linked objects. Something like in the attached code But it doesn't work, the in-linked objects that should have been rejected, are still displayed in the layout DXL. |

Ok I'm a little unsure of which objects with inlinks you're trying to filter out. If any.
If you just want to filter on the current filter + only objects with inlinks, you can do the following. ------------------------- David Pechacek AAI Services Textron dpechacek@sc-aaicorp.com David.Pechacek@gmail.com |

Actually re-reading it I think I see what you're trying to do. You only want to display in your DXL column data from the in-linked objects that matches the criteria of the filter for your current module. Well the reason that all in-linked objects are showing is because you're just opening references to the source modules, and displaying data. You don't apply any kind of checks before displaying the data.
I'm not sure how you'd accomplish what you're trying to do. You can convert the current filter to a string representation. But you'd have to have some pretty crafty logic to parse out the different attributes and checks and then apply it to checking the source object of each in link. ------------------------- David Pechacek AAI Services Textron dpechacek@sc-aaicorp.com David.Pechacek@gmail.com |

You could also look at the filterParser.inc file someone here wrote (quick search). If you get the string of the filter, reconvert it to a new filter for the in link module, filter that module, then see if the source object is in the display set.
