Hi All,

I have assigned a group RC access rights at the main folder level and propagated additional MD rights (with Create) for some sub-folders in the main folder. For all the modules (and objects) in these sub-folders, the access rights are inherited.
When I log in DOORS as a member of this group, I am not able to edit the existing object text in the modules of these sub-folders. I can create new objects but can not write any text - in Object Text or Object Heading - in these objects. The Access window for the module and the objects show that I have RMCD rights. I do not want to assign the Admin rights because the RCMD access rights should be sufficient for creating and editing the module objects.
Where am I going wrong? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It sounds like you have it right...the only other thing I can suggest checking is the Attribute access for Object Text and Object Heading. If someone has changed these access rights, and you check the object's properties, the object will still show the inherited rights. You need to check through Edit->Attributes for the access rights of Object Text and Heading.

Yes. In order to modify an obj-attr value you need M access to the object and also to the attr-values.

Attrs have two access controls, 'Values' lets you change obj value and 'Definition' lets you change the definition of the attribute (such as turning History off). Object Heading and Text, of course, cannot have their Def changed regardless of def-access, since they are system defined attributes.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Thanks, Laura, for the tip. I found that the Object Text and Object Heading attribute values were not inherited. This was to prevent other groups from editing the Req text. I modified the access rights to accord the RMCD access to the specific group.
