Can any body tell me what is the function of a LinkModuleDescriptor? Did not get much practical idea from reading the reference manual.

LinkModuleDescriptors LMDs in DXL are the same as "Default Linkset Pairings" in the GUI. When you goto the module's properties and click the LinkSet tab and "create Linksets", you are really specifying default link modules. That capability is the same as LMDs in DXL.
