Hello community,
I need to export a huge number of modules and would like to use the standard export to RTF. I am looping through all items in a project and want to export all formal modules to a network drive. Does anybody know if this is possible without always getting the dialog? I don't know if this issue has already been addressed in an older thread. I did a search but couldn't find anything. Thanks Karl |

Their RTF exporter is not encrypted and is located at C:\Program Files\Telelogic\DOORS_8.1\lib\dxl\standard\export. You could modify it to strip out the dialog box and run all at once for the modules you desire.

David,
thanks for the hint. Still was tricky. I could not make it work for table format only for book format, but that was sufficient for the moment. Karl |

Hi David, Could you please lety me know what exactly is rtf format . Actually our current requirement is export all the modules of a project into a word document so that we can view the hierarchy.
Please suggest if the rtf format would suffice my requirement. If yes could you please pass on the code. Thanks Much!! |

RTF = Rich Text Format. MSWord can open a (properly formatted) RTF document with no problem. It should fill your needs.
The code David refers to should be in your standard installation - substitute your DOORS version for DOORS_8.1 (I run DOORS_8.3), and the file in question is rtfexp.dxl. ------------------------- Paul dot Tiplady at TRW dot com TRW Automotive |

For what you want Maria, a text file will suffice using a Stream to do the export. I'd say use tabs to show the hierarchy.
