![]() Answer: Hi Walter, how do you import the date back to Doors? If you are using Excel and csv, you should know, that there are different "implemntations" of csv. I would suggest to export from Excel into "Text (MS-DOS)(*.txt)" That would be the most suitable formato be reimported into Doors via "File -> Import -> Spreadsheet" In dialog you have to select Data Separartor Tab You should also press advanced button after you have specified the file to import from. In advanced section you should select the code page which is set as default on your system (you may find it by using: "mode con" on windows command line) Hope, that helps you to import the data properly. Hi. I'm working with DOORS 8.0.0.6. I am trying to get people in my team to start to export data out of a certain DOORS and into a spreadsheet. Then, after they have made modifications, I will import the data back into this DOORS module. I'm testing this out on a test module. Problem 2: Imports As - Tpr6,Describe r.,SJA,70 |

Walter,
You can also try downloading OpenOffice.org and using its spreadsheet (Calc, I think it's called) to save CSV files. It handles double-quotes much better than Excel does, and you don't get all of those pesky Excel "Are you sure you want to save this file as CSV? No, really, are you sure? I know you just said yes twice, but c'mon, you really don't want to save this as CSV, do you?" dialogs. ------------------------- Kevin Murphy http://www.baselinesinc.com The Requirements Management Experts |

Hi. Thanks for all the help. I will also be importing date back into DOORS, I just haven't tried out that field yet.
I switched the 'Code Page' in the Advanced Options to 437. That seems to work with all the different imports that I do now.
I would switch to open office, but all of our contractors are using Microsoft Excel. Best case scenario would be for the contractors to send me the CSVs and then I can directly import them in. I'll try to save the files as *.csv's in Open Office if that doesn't work.
Thanks! The DOORS Forum saves me again!
Walter
