David,

I get the feeling there is some more information you aren't telling us. Things like this usually don't just happen.

When you say "locked," do you mean "disabled"? Can you be more specific about the message you're getting when you sign in?

Have you restarted the DOORS database server?

What was done before this problem ocurred?

I can tell you this--if I were in your shoes, this is a MAJOR problem, and I would go to Telelogic support immediately, and not this forum. You are down and cannot do work. You should go to Telelogic first, and THEN post here to get help in the fastest manner possible.

Kevin-

Don't know what happened to my previous message- sorry.

We have restarted the server. Some users can now get into the database, although the Admin account still doesn't work.

The orginal Admin who installed the server and software has moved on, and the ID/password left does not work. For further clarification, we are running a single user license and may use the software once a week or so.

Thanks for the help.

David,

Telelogic has a way to update the Administrator account username/password. Contact them and it should be a trivial thing to have them reset it.

When you get back in, I highly recommend archiving all projects in case your issue is more severe than it appears. You do not want to lose data. You may also want to create a new DOORS server elsewhere, if possible, because things like this aren't supposed to just happen.

Good luck.

Kevin

The procedure for getting the Administrator name is clumsy: create a special DOORS.exe icon, use it to get to the login screen; keep the login screen showing while you contact Telelogic with the cryptic info you copied from the login screen, wait for Telelogic to tell you what to type in for the Password, then login and change the password.

The login screen has to stay showing the entire time which realistically means you need to schedule an appointment with them to do this.

At least it used to be as I stated.

As of DOORS 7.1, it was still like this. You have to be on the phone with them, because the special icon switch that you use generates a different code to give Telelogic every single time.
