I don't ever get results when I use the "logfile"parameter in the Registry; nor do I get any results when I use the "logfile" command line switch. Even for DXL that aborts, the target file remains empty.

Anybody have any luck using "logfile"?

I tried the -logfile command line switch and it works fine.
I am using DOORS 7.1 patch 011.
I didn't try the registry entry option.

Doesn't work ..err.. doesn't seem to work for me, using v71 patch #3. How should I test it? Put the parameter in the command line and then introduce a DXL error?

All I did was to start doors with -l "C:\temp\myLog.txt" command line switch and then type some garbage into the dxl interaction window. O got the warning box telling me ther were errors, but the errors were written to the log file rather than printed to the window.

Check exact syntax of command line switch - that one normally catches me out.

Don't know if this is still of interest, but you have to restart the DOORS Server to activate logging.
There are two parameters I know of.

You have to enter them here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Telelogic\DOORS_Server\8.1\Config

loglevel = 6 ->nice if you have some db probs
logfile=c:\temp\log.txt ->target
