Hello,
I get the following message on my laptop while working in DOORS.  I can log on from another machine and don't have this issue.

"The connection with the database server has been lost and reconnection attempts have failed.

This may be due to network problems or the server may have been stopped.

DOORS will now exit."

I have re-installed DOORS , put on patch #12 for v7.1
I have wireless disabled.

Anyone know what is causing this?

Any help/guidance is GREATLY appreciated.

Brian

Hi Brian,

it in deed looks like a network problem. Try to set up a permanent ping every 30 sec or so to the DOORS server and see whether your drop outs correlate with ping failures or unexpected high delays.

See also whether there are suspicious log-entries in the logs of client and/or server.

Enable if not yet done the network connection indication (in the right bottom corner of your desktop statis line). Is the network connection constantly available?

Well finally open a ticket @Telelogic before testing more patches and spending too much time on it.

Just ideas....

Regards
Hubertus

This isn't the cause, but patch 14 is superior to patch 12; fixes some database corruption issues.

Grobbel is right its probably the laptop's network connection that's the issue. Do you know how to "ping"? Is your internet connection OK during all this?

Is your laptop trying to hibernate? That might cause an issue.

I used to have the same problem. That was some time ago. As I vaguely remember I did not have the correct ports set up. Yes, port setup is necessary even though an internet connection does not exist.
