Doors beginner here and I'm having difficulty sorting my DOORS document. This document has 2 sections that need to be sorted differently. We are trying to sort by the object text.
1.0 Introduction 1.1 Acronyms list of Acronyms ABC DEF GHI 1.2 Definitions Term 1 - Definition for Term 1 Term 2 - Definition for Term 2 Term n - Definition for Term n How do I make DOORS sort the 1.1 List and the 1.2 List seperately? Advice? Do I need to write a DXL? If so, how? Edited: 25-Jan-2007 at 23:09 by Tracy Monteith |

What a nice little project!
The following dxl will do the job for you. Create two integer attributes, called sortSection and sortObject. For each heading object, you have to manually set this attribute to a value, starting at say 1000. Set values incrementally in the order the heading objects appear in the module. e.g. 1000, 2000, 3000.... Run the attached dxl. ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com |

Sorting is a display thing. It sounds like you really wish to reorder these sections permanantly. If so, start cutting-and-pasting, usually 'after' (not 'below') another object.

Tony, that DXL script worked awesome.!!!
Louie is right, but I've got hundreds of definitions and not the patience to do all those 'move after's'.
