Answer:
Mary,

You can copy a set of Objects from one Module to another using the "Copy Objects" functionality provided with DOORS. This is different from the "Edit -> Copy" functionality.

Considering you want to append the objects, you will need to consider what this means. The target module (the one you want to append TO) will be a hierarchy, so the last object in the target module will likely not be at level one.

You can copy the objects from the source module as a set, AFTER or ONE LEVEL BELOW any existing object in the target module, preserving the hierarchy in the source module (with relative numbering).

To achieve this, open the target module (the one you want to append TO) first, and make the object you want the copied objects to be relative to current. This might be the actual last object in the module, or perhaps the last LEVEL ONE object in the module, depending on how you want things to look once the copy is complete.

Then,

In the Source Module (the one you want to copy FROM), go to

Tools -> Functions -> Copy Objects

Select Target Module (even though it is open, you need to select it by name)
Copy: All Objects
New position: "After" or "One level below" (whichever makes the most sense for your append situation)
Select Attribute Names to Copy (it will create the definitions in the Target Module if they do not exist)
Click OK

Hello,

I wasn't sure where to put this one, so I put it here. Is it possible to append one DOORS module to another DOORS module without copying and and pasting, writing some dxl code, or exporting something into Word and re-importing it back into DOORS? It doesn't look like it, but I thought I would ask.

Thanks,

Mary
