Hello All:
We are in the process or migrating our current DOORS 8.1 database from a UNIX environment to a Windows environment. I have copied the DOORS 8.1 data directory from the UNIX server to the WINDOWS server. I installed the DOORS Windows Database Server and pointed it to the new DOORS 8.1 directory using the appropriate license and database server ports. I installed a DOORS 8.1 client using the appropriate license and database server ports. When I launched the DOORS 8.1 client pointing it to the new Windows Sever, it reacts as if this is an empty directory. It doesn't find or display the original data tree. Can someone please describe what I may be missing or doing incorrectly. Thanks alot. |

This line makes no sense. You point the DOORS client to a database server port. My guess is that you did not appropriately point the DOORS Server to the correct ServerData directory. On the Windows Server machine, stop the DOORS DB Server service. Go to start>Run>Regedit. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Telelogic/DOORS_SERVER/8.1/Config and check the value for your ServerData. Fix this, start the DOORS Server, and you should be golden. ------------------------- Kevin Murphy http://www.baselinesinc.com |
