Although DOORS allows you to create folders and dxl files using the "Addins" method it appears to fall short from providing dynamically customizable menus.
For example: If I have two completely different projects in DOORs say a "Cars" project and a "Dogs" project I want to write a bunch of user functions related to the cars project but if I do that using the "Addins" folder method that means when I open the "Dogs" project I will also see the user functions for the Cars project. This doesn't seem to be the most optimal method and maybe I'm missing something but I have been talking with a few people who are trying to create dynamic menus the same way that I have been with no success. I have looked into the formal.dxl file but that file creates the instance of all formal modules each time you open DOORs and not each time you open a formal module so that also appears to be a dead end. Am I missing something here? Is there a way to dynamically create menus? This issue is paramount to the success of our project. |
