We have been facing issues with Doorsnet at least 3-4 times during a week, that its getting to be a daily chore to check up on its status. What we see is that nearly every day, users who are using Doorsnet, are unable to get into Doorsnet and get the error message mentioned above.

We are running doors and Doorsnet on 7.1 version running on Sun Solaris 5.8 On the unix end, I still see the 3 processes running over there (Dnsesman, doors.exe -doorsnet and doorsd) and still we are getting these session manager issues.

Doors clients are still fine at this time and this only affects Doorsnet. Have anyone seen this kind of issue before and if so, do you have any suggestions for me to try on?

Also, I see a lot of discussions about using Doorsnet on Citrix, but would really appreciate if some one could forward me some information on it.

Looks like we are the only ones having this issue with Doorsnet Session manager running away..... Can some one throw some light on this, if they have seen this error message.

Thanks

Uday,

We have had that problem, but it was on a Win2K server so our fix was different. We just uninstalled and reinstalled the DOORSNet Session Manager Service and it started working properly. I suspect that most people are running DOORS on a Windows platform.

We've been having problems with the session manager and server services for some time with Doorsnet 7 on NT4. The first problem with the session manager falling over seemed to be caused by some rouge v5.2 clients trying to publish to the v7 Doorsnet server.

We're still having problems with the server service. Falls over approx. every two weeks.

I also make a point of removing the following options from the doorsnet.idx file. (This removes the ability for users with the publishing addin to STOP the Doorsnet server.)
conmanui i _ Sessions...
serverui s _ Servers...
webconf W _ Configure Website...
dnetconf D _ Configure DOORSnet...
