![]() Answer: installation of major versions in parallel is supported. I think DOORS 5.2 used doors.ini instead of the registry, but in any case it's not a problem. DOORS 7.1 doesn't use doors.ini and it only accesses the "7.1" key sections in the registry. I suggest installing 5.2 first because, among other reasons, the word exporter .dot file has changed. DOORS 7.1 licenses can't be used for 5.2, so you'll need two license servers or license files. LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable supports this. | |

A problem with concurrent DOORS versions is the DOORS.Dot file used by MS-Word to Export. All versions of DOORS use the different files but they are all called "doors.dot"; if you point to the various ones you'll end up with multiple MS-Word icons and Tools menu options that all look alike; but you'll have to know which is which if you figure to export from Word to DOORS.
