We are on Doors 5.2 and eventually will be migrating to 6.
In the mean time, the article on the Telelogic website talking about the Doors on Citrix trials at Lucent seems to suggest the project started with version 5.x and that findings were brought forward to version 6 later. Was 5.x working on Citrix at all? We would like to implement even limited functionality on Citrix now then migrate to version 6 when ready. Can someone give me a contact at Lucent or within Telogic who knows details on what kind of workarounds had to be done to "make" things work somewhat on Citrix? We are using Citrix Metaframe XPe just like Lucent and have run into a problem when launching Doors where it tells us it cannot find the required licensing system. We use FlexLM. It is also implying that it can't find Doors.INI, which is in m:\winnt. Is there somewhere else we should put the ini file or some other way to force Doors to find it? Craig Sharpe for Connie Grubbs. I don't recall the specific issues because this was a while ago for us. But I will make some general statements that hopefully provide some guidance.
DOORS 5.2 should work on Citrix. We have been and still use it on WTS (similar to Citrix). My impression is that DOORS has probably always worked reasonably with these solutions - I think that Telelogic just didn't support them because they did not have the setups themselves to do testing and problem investigation. Are you running the clients on the same server as the DOORS server? I'm not sure if that is necessary but that is what we do. As far as your problem with DOORS.ini, I do believe that some files need to be in their expected locations. I think that we have one DOORS.ini that applies to all users, and I think it is tucked away on the C: drive of the server, just as it would be on a desktop PC. Sorry my answers are vague on some of the details - I'm not in the support group - I just get the summaries on issues and resolutions. As for support, what we do is if we have a problem, we try and recreate it on a standalone PC installation of DOORS. If it happens there, then Telelogic will investigate it. If you can't get it to happen there, then it may really be a Citrix/WTS unique problem. |
