- Using DOORS 8.3
- Object shows two incoming links from the same source module, one from object 384 and the other 386. The link from 386 works fine, the link from 384 however a problem. The object 384 doesn't exist in the module (yeah I turned on show deletions). - I think this has something to do with the baseline error in 8.3 if you don't have the Synergy integration, where DOORS locks up. I think one of the users created object 384 and the link, baselined another module without saving the source and then DOORS blew up and the object was essentially purged (link and all). - We've issues before where the link appeared on the target but not the source and it was easy enough to clear up by recreating the link and then deleting it. Though with the nonexistence of the source object it makes this solution impossible. - Now, when I open the source module, the link reference disappears in the target, but when you close both modules and reopen the target module, the link reappears. - Anyone have any idea how I can rid myself of this hung link reference to a non-existant object? ------------------------- Scott Boisvert Engineering Tools Administrator L-3 Communications - Avionics Systems scott.boisvert@l-3com.com |

We had a similar issue a little while back. We contacted Telelogic about it, and they sent us a script from the Kitchen (for DOORS 5.2!) that would look for links with only one end, and delete them and then flushDeletions(). That didn't work for us, and they sent another script that does what you describe -- created a link, then deleted it (our links were from objects that still existed, or were at least deleted). The rep strongly recommended to back up the DB beforehand...
I never ran the second script, because I monkeyed around with the files (while waiting to hear back) until it went away. I just opened both modules in edit mode and ran scripts to look at some basic information about each link. I did this several times, saving as I went along. I got the idea from a thread on these forums: "Invisible In Links???". Chris |
