Using DOORS v5.2, in my Admin account, I have a couple of unwanted projects I am trying to remove.

1/
The first project has a folder which, if I try to open, I get the message:-
"Error while parsing file '/hierarchy/m000054c1.mod/module.dt' at line 1: expecting Parent"
and the DXL Interaction window that opens up contains:-
"-R-E- DXL: An unexpected error has occurred: Unexpected Token
-R-F- DXL: internal error, please submit a bug report"
Obviously, there's been some sort of corruption in the database indexing, but my question is, is there a way I can still delete the project? Restoring a backup of the database from a previous day is not really an option.

2/
Similarly, I have another unwanted project, inside which I have deleted the only remaining folder (red cross through it), but if I use File->Purge to delete the folder, I get the message:-
"No such file or directory t:\hierarchy\m00005f80.mod"
The same applies as above, is there any way I can delete the project?

TIA
Alan Gooch

For v7 and v8 it sounds like you need to have the DOORS "Administrator" run the Integrity Checker when nobody is in the database. Also, is it possible you don't have "R" access to everything in the folders in question? That is, do you see the same folders-modules as does the "Administrator"?

Hi Louie.
Yes, my access rights are identical to the Administrator.
As we're only using v5.2, I don't know anything about this Integrity Checker. We are planning to upgrade to v7 quite soon. I was rather hoping to be able to remove unwanted modules and projects from the database prior to the upgrade.
I suspect the Module Migrator DXL script that is mentioned as part of the v6 upgrade is likely to object to these corrupted projects.

The only thing left to try that I can think of is logging in actually as the DOORS "Administrator".

If you have trouble with the Module Migrator, it shouldn't be hard to modify it such that it skips these two projects all together.

Hi Louie
The DOORS Admin a/c has the same error I get as myself.
I've not actually looked at the Module Migrator code, but I suspect that is the way to go. Then try the Integrity Checker. I'll probably add to this thread when I've got that far, as I guess it'll tell me there is something wrong.
Thanks
Alan Gooch

There are several of us here that would be delighted to see who can modify the ModuleMigrator the fastest.
