Hello!
I have the following requirement. There is an attribute definition called 'Category' which has a set of values, 'A', 'B' & 'C'. There is a second attribute definition called Sub-Category which has its own set of values. I would like the User to see the values in the Sub-Category based on Category chosen . For eg. a Requirement falls into Category 'A', the subcategories could be 'A1','A2','A3' etc. Although Sub-Category definition has values like, 'B1','B2','C1,'C2' etc, for the ease of user, he must be able to see only 'A1,A2..' when the chosen category is 'A'. Is there any easier way to achieve this? Above is what I could think of, but if someone has implemented this someway, I would be glad to take a tip. |

I checked Tony's script. I was wondering if I can have a DXL attribute rather than module menu. Category is a single-valued DXL attribute & Sub-Category is a multi-valued DXL attribute in my case. Any suggestions are most welcome.

Or in other words, is it possible to have a Column display values of more than 1 attribute based on some condition (like the value of another attribute displayed in another column)?

I modified Tony's script such that the sub-category can now be multi-valued. I replaced the choice DBE by a listViewDBE with checkboxes.
As regards your second post, displaying values of more than 1 attribute, based on some condition, of course that is possible with layoutDXL. But if you want the user to modify the attribute values, there is no way other than a dialogue box. DXL attributes are also no option here, as those update automatically, thereby also not allowing the user to select individual values. Cheers, Peter |
