Answer:
OK all,

Before you unleash a barrage of replies I have figured it out.

For those of you that dont know:
Deleted items (that havent been purged) can be undeleted throught the edit menu
edit/objects/undelete

To reinstate an older version of a requirement, pull up the object properties, select the history tab, select the history entry that made the change and click restore.

Best wishes
Ian

Hi,

It is quite common in product development for requirements to be reinstated having been deleted or changed at some ealier point in the project.

How do i reinstate previous requirements or versions of requirements?
If there is no way to do this then my suggestion is that DOORS incorporate one.

Regards
Ian Kirwan

An alternative approach.

Once a specification has reached a certain stage in its life cycle and considered stable, we no longer allow deletion of requirements. Instead we have a context menu option "Mark as deleted" which replaces the object text with the string "[DELETED]" and sets a boolean attribute "Deleted" = true.

Working this way retains the document structure and makes changes easier to handle.
