Answer:
The structure of the database is version 8. The logic of DOORS version numbers is that the minor versions (8.x) add functionality and are bug fixes, but do not change the database structure. Thus all 8.x versions can use a DOORS DB which has been created with DOORS version 8.0. Of course the database server software at this point can be 8.2 or 8.3 .

Only the major versions (8.0, upcoming 9.0) change the database structure.

Hi,
I have DOORS 8.2 installed and running on my system.
I archive a project.
When i attempt to restore the same project, i get a screen which basically lists all the modules and associated folders in the project. But i see Database version something like this:

Old name:/blah blah blah
Archive date: 2/19/2008 10:19:30
Source Database: DOORS Database (ID: 46blahblahblah, DOORS version 8).
New Name:/blah blah blah1

So my question is: Is there a version of the database"engine" that needs to be updated to 8.2? if so, how?

When one mentions that one is using DOORS v.8.2, does it mean that the database is still at version 8?

Thanks in advance

TIA,
Kaizer.
