Answer:
The Installing and Setting up Guide for DOORS/ERS 7 answers your question on page 22. The file is available to download as a PDF from this site

For quickness

DOORS 6 clients cannot connect to a DOORS 7 DDBS
DOORS 7 clients cannot connect to a DOORS 6 DDBS
DOORS 7 can read DOORS 6 project or module archives
DOORS 6 cannot read DOORS 7 project or module archives
DOORS 7 cannot read DOORS 6 partitions
DOORS 6 cannot read DOORS 7 partitions
DOORS 7 cannot use DOORS 6 licenses
DOORS 6 cannot use DOORS 7 licenses

If you cannot upgrade you could carry on exchanging data using CSV imports and exports but it is not an ideal solution

Regards

Mandy

Has anybody attempted to share data between DOORS 6 SR1 and DOORS 7?

I am currently using 6 and sharing data with a client who is also currently using 6. My client is considering upgrading to 7, and I am wondering if I will have to upgrade also to continue to exchange information.

Any suggestions?

Mark

Mark,

If you hear anything, I too am looking for an answer to this. We are attempting to avoid this problem, but there's still a chance we may experience the same issue.

Thought I'd reply and see if anyone has new information since it's been almost 2 months since your post...

To summarize Livingstone's details: you can push from v6 to v7 but cannot go back. That is, your v7 DB can have read-only restore's of various v6 archives, but that's about it.
