Hello,
The physical server that our Doors database resides on had a hardware failure (nightmare #1). I was able to create another database on another server and run from there, and it seemed to have no problems. Now I am getting complaints from users that when they use their Doors Favorites, Doors says that the item is not found. Also, all my data is present in Database View, but when I switch to Project View, nothing shows up, and when we try to create links, it cannot find our link modules. We are using Doors 6.0 SR1. Anyone had this problem, or have any insight? Thanks, Wendy |

[1] Did you create the new DB on the new server using a backup of the old server's DOORS file system (the ../data directory and everything else in it)? [2] Or did you just copy the "v6Data" folder and forget about the sibling "conf" folder? [3] Or did you try to restore the users and the projects from archives?
If [1], you shouldn't be having these problems. If [2] you WILL have some such problems. Restore the "conf" folder from backup. If [3] you are out of luck since your user names don't match the Access Records and the view module references don't match the module IDs and you've lost all your LinkSet pairings. Good luck with that; coffee and complaining won't fix it. Never heard of DB view working and Project view NOT working; but suspect its a user access problem. - Louie |

If all of your DOORS "Projects" are actually "Folders", switching to Project view will appear to remove all of your data (there aren't any Projects to display). That is the only reason I can think of for the DB view to work and the Project view not work.

We have had this happen a couple times-- a quick fix is if to convert your projects to folders, then convert them back to projects. This will restore them to project view. We also have a dxl script from telelogic that is upposed to do the same thing. We are running 5.2 -- in the process of upgrading to 7.1
