I want to read out an existing filter of a view and modify the criteria of one filter expression. I found a stringOf(Filter) but no way to reconvert this string to a filter.
Any help would be appreciated

Kind regards

Rolf,

I know of no good way to do this. Unfortunately, once a Filter is built, the string verision and the Filter version seems to be the only ones available. The cake cannot be easily unbaked.

When I was writing the "Copy Views" utility, I wrote some routines to parse the filter string returned from stringOf(Filter), but only enough to get the Attribute names and values from it. I didn't go as far as dealing with the logical elements (AND, OR, NOT).
