When the Telelogic analysis wizard is used to create Layout DXL columns, the code automatically updates the location of the link module when the module is copied to another location. In the code the old location is commented out, with the phase "Auto Translated" in front of it, when the new one takes its place. We were looking to find out how it does this. The location of the link module seems to consist of a server ID followed by an 8 digit module ID. We have tried to look for the code behind the analysis wizard, but have had no luck finding it. Any thoughts??

The automatic update of the layout DXL is being done by the paste command. This is built in to the DOORS executable, so you will not find any DXL to look at.

When a module with outgoing links is copied to a different folder, the links are also copied.
If the links originally went through a link module in the same folder as the original, then a link module of the same name is automatically created in the target folder and the links are copied to that new link module. It is when this happens that the Layout DXL is updated.

If a link module of the same name already exists in the target folder, then the links are copied to that link module.

If the links originally when through a link module in a different folder to the original module, then the links are copied, but remain in the original link module. In this case there is no update to the Layout DXL.

This is all explained in the help under "Cutting, Copying and Pasting", although it is quite difficult to understand.
