I need a script that will help me reorganize a doors module generated from Rhapsody
I've got requirement text embedded below another object that's tagged as "Requirements" (Parent A) I need to move the child requirement up to belong at the same level as the Parent object Thanks in advance |

With the exception of the very first top-most object, all DOORS objectes are iether [1] Below some other object, or [2] After some other object. Below means one level lower (higher integer), After means at the same level. In this case you want to move the one object to be "after" its current parent; this will make it the same level and lower down in the screen. If you want this object to be an earlier sibling then you would perhaps move it "below" the object that's the parent of A.
My older brother is "below" my Mom and one level lower, and I'm "after" him at the same level. If you moved me "below" my Mom or if you moved him "after" me, I'd become the older brother. Be advised that when you move (or copy or paste), you are affecting that object's chilren as well. So if you have a 4 level hierachy: A parent of B parent of C parent of D, when you move C you also move D. Imagine the confusion if filtering is on hiding "D" or hiding "B", or the fiasco that may result if you've sorted the module showing C first. Thus, moving (and cutting) cannot occur when filtering or sorting is on. You can, however, move etc when leveling is limited, in this case to level "3" which would hide D (which is level 4). Even after all these years I still have difficulty moving objects. I STRONGLY recommend you ALWAYS display the "Object Level" in the view before restructuring your modules. - Loie |

A couple of other things for when you are restructuring
- The module explorer helps a lot with the visualisation and also shows you the levels (visually). - Save the module BEFORE restructuring then if it all goes horribly wrong, you can close without saving and have another go. Hazel |
