Is there a way in DXL to lock an attribute for edit?

I have the DXL code that sets up the attribute value and I don't want the user to be able to change this value.

Also, if there is a way to lock the attribute for edit, is there a way in DXL to unlock it again?

Thanks.

See SetDef, SetVal, specificDef, specificVal, etc functions in the DXL help.

These functions allow you to set the access permissions for attribute definitions and attribute values.

Goodman suggests setting access to the entire attribute values, such as allowing only certain users to modify "Object Text". The user running your DXL will need to have rights, usually RMCD, to modify the value. It won't "unlock" and then "lock".

No, you cannot "lock" an attribute nor lock an object/attribute value.

Sounds like you may want to consider Attribute DXL to calculate the value but disallow manual changes.
