Answer:
It's ok i found by myself.
I give the solution if someone is interested. It works in a VB project only if doors is installed on a WIN32 platform.

Thanks for all

I would like, in a VB program, to test if DOORS is already started before executing the main procedure.
I actually use CreateObject("DOORS.Application") to initialise the COM Object but i don't know how to be sure with code that DOORS is already started at the beginning of the process overwise i would like to say to the user that he must launch DOORS application before using the program.

Anybody knows how please?

JP

Thanks David,

But the solution you're telling me about is not excatly what i want.
In fact, if doors is just launched, the login window is active but doors.exe runs and so doors is not yet avaible for scripts running.
What i'd like is:
- Testing if Doors is active (login process already passed) and available for scripts running
- Testing if Doors is inactive (not launched so doors.exe not running) : the solution you provided is the answer
Any issue?

JP

PS: I saw in tlb files of telelogic doors some attributes like Clientstate but these are not documented. Perhaps a solution?
