I have tried WEXP versions 11.4 and 11.5 and both exhibit the known bug when trying to do inline/inserted views. (The bug is that the data is never inserted.) Can anyone confirm if this bug was fixed in WEXP version 11.6, 11.7 or 12.x?
Also, anyone know what Jeremy Dick is doing now? Regards, Tim Perry |

Well, I am using WEXP 11.4, and am often using inline/inserted views without any problem.

Jeremy is with Integrate Systems Engineering. Integrate Website
I heard that Telelogic were no longer supporting WEXP and that they had dropped it in favour of DocExpress. ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com |

Peter,
The version 11.4 I tried is dated Feb. 8, 2005. Have you patched/replaced any files (e.g. wexp.inc, etc) in your installation or is your version entirely "out-of-the-box"? Also, when you set the object attribute to get it to insert the table, do you have to deviate at all from the instructions in the User's Guide? Do you have a copy of any version newer than 11.5? If so, would you be willing to post? I am in the process of contacting our Sales Agent to request the newest version via "official" channels. Thanks, Tim Perry |

Tim,
I can't tell you exactly the date of our WEXP version, however, the exact version number is 11.4.10. The latest version I have a copy of is 11.4.20. I should note that we are running DOORS 7.0; probably the problem you observe is not with WEXP but with DOORS. I didn't patch/replace anything and strictly followed the User's guide. I noted, however, that it is really easy to confuse the correct Attributes to use, as the related names are a bit misleading: "WEXP Module View" must in fact contain the name/fullName of the Module to be inserted; while "WEXP View Name" must contain the name of the view of the module to be inserted. Thanks for the info Peter.
We are running DOORS 8.1 here and it sounds like that is the main difference in our configurations and likely the culprit. Regards, Tim |

Well, we are planning to upgrade DOORS within the next months. I'll come back to this topic if I can get it running correctly with the latest DOORS version.
