Hi,

Is there any way of restricting the data in a partition? I have set the view and access permissions, but I have a filter which excludes sensitive data. When I create a partition and test restoring it, the views and attributes are limited, but if i uncheck the filter button, the sensitive data becomes available.

Is there anyway of not allowing the filter to be turned off?

Thanks

Arlene

Arlene,

I have recently been made aware of an unsupported DXL script being developed by the German office of Telelogic (contact Ulf Pansa), that has been created for their automotive customers. I don't know how widely available it will be, but I do know its functionality will effectively be controlled by a group called HIS -- a German acronym for a group of automotive manufacturers (VW, BMW, Porsche, DaimlerChrysler and Audi).

What this script does (as I understand it) is to permit the selective export of formal modules, thus protecting proprietary or otherwise sensitive information that may be held in the module. The 'product' is called DOORS eXchange. It will also allow exchange of data in both directions between different DOORS versions, allowing home and away database to be at different versions (presumably with loss of data restricted to the functional differences between the versions).

Information on the script has been (or is being) made available to all of Telelogic's sales teams, so you should be able to find out more from them. Sadly , they will charge you for it, and annoyingly , they won't be supporting it.

I guess this means two things:
1. It can't be done without some form of customisation.
2. At least it's possible to do it, if that's an incentive to try it yourself...

Contact me off-line if you want more info.

Paul.
