Answer:
Hi,

I have a project where we add mandatory target link rules to the Linkset module level property of various source modules.

We've noticed that every now and again, some of the linkset rules dissapear and the "Only allow outgoing links as specified in the above list" option has disabled itself. Only users with the "A" admin right can modify these so given that I'm the only one that has this right I'm confident that users are not fiddling with them.

The problem arises when a user complains that they can't link from source module "A" to a target module "B" and we find that the rule we had set up to support linking from "A" to "B" has dissapeared from the source module.

Anyone else experienced this? It's a real pain to have to set these all up again manually!!

Default LinkSet Pairings (or LinkModuleDescriptors in DXL) appear in the Module's properties but are actually stored in the module's folder. DXL manipulates them from there. The info stored is NOT the name of the module, but rather the module's ID. If you purge such a target module and restore one with the same name, all the LSPs associated with that module are corrupted. They are still there but invisible. This would also happen if you deleted the associated linkset.

You can remove these useless LSP using DXL, looking for source or target names that don't point to anything anymore.

Paul,

Are you using DOORS 7.1?  I believe there is a known problem with this and that there is a patch available for it.  Please ask support about this.

Yes, it's patch 008, which we downloaded from the support area of the website.
