Answer:
Thank you for your prompt response. It looks like the permissions on these sections were changed. Fixing the permissions fixed the problem. Thank you once again.

Hi All,
I am running into a rather strange situation. While trying to submit a CP, I get the following error:

"A failure occurred attempting to lock section <section number> in <CP partner module name>"

The interesting thing is that if I open the CP partner module in "Exclusive edit" mode prior to submitting the CP from the actual DOORS formal module, I do not get this error. I have RMCDA permissions for the CP partner module. Any idea what I could do to circumvent this issue? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Pranav

Probably someone reset the shared sections in the CP partner module; or at least erased it for the section that corresponds to you (the <section number>. As you know a 'shared section' is an object that has specific access rights, and all its inherited objects.

The attached DXL shows the shared sections in the module, perhaps run it on the Partner to check it out. If its just that one section, you can change its access to Specific and then provide the user in question access.
