You can do this if using WEXP by creatng a new Word Template containing an empty Table of Contents.

Bookmarks and the WEXP Bookmark attribute can be used for placing objects either bofre or after the inteneded table of Contents.

As WEXP repaginates the Word document the heading styles and levels are picked up and the Table of Contents is populated. There is no need to fill in the Paragraph Style attribute, WEXP/Word follows the module hierarchy to create the levels and headings in Word.

You can do this with the standard Word export too. Save a word template with a suitable front page and TOC, headers, footers etc. When you export, the contents of the module will go at the end of the material in the template. You just need to update the toc, and I am not sure if there is a way to persuade Word to do that automatically - it always seems to ask me when I print something if I want to update.

Here's a little snippet I use to update all the fields (including the TOC, and heading numbers) in an exported MSWord document. The two files I include in the script are OLE.inc and rtfattr.inc, but there's every possibility I have extended them. Shout if you'd like to see my copies.

I do my export by creating walloping great buffers full of RTF, which I then write out to a file and open in word. It's significantly quicker than using OLE -- in fact this little snippet is the only OLE I use in a 1700 line export script.

Enjoy!
Paul.
