When I execute a batch file like:
print "Hello!!!" from the command line on Windows XP by: doors -u ... -P ... -b hello.dxl then a new shell opens. Correctly, it contains the string "Hello!!!". But also "Press Enter to exit DOORS." is printed in the shell and the doors process is still running. A return from my keyboard closes the window and the doors process. How can I close Doors automatically without entering "Return"? (Halt does not help.) Thank you very much, Björn |

Had the same problem; its the print statement. The "press enter" command is analogous to the "close" on the DXL window. If your DXL does something else (such as appending "hello" to a file) it won't stay residual and will end naturally. IIRC, "ack" and "confirm" etc. commands act like print statements when running in Batch.
I had several interactive DXL that I wanted to also have the ability to run from batch mode. That's real sticky. I ended up writing batch stubs for ack and confirm (and error and warning ...). They stick the message in a display buffer (confirm returns true, query returns zero). The end of the batch program dumps the display buffer to a report file. These DXL always realize their DBs, but only show them when not in Batch mode. The batch control program includes batch includes, includes the source DXL, invokes the main apply callback function, then calls the function that dumps the display buffer. Yuuuuuck, but it finally worked. Its probably better to write Batch-Only DXL and avoid all user interaction such as ack, print, and DBs. - Louie |

Close out the end of your batch file with the command "c:\ exit"
