Is there a way to hide the module toolbars in the same way that is possible with Word/Excel, or something like a "full screen" mode? I've been asked by some users to see if this is possible so they can see more info on the screen at one time. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Al,
the only way I would see, is to edit the file: DOORSHOME/lib/dxl/config/formal.dxl and comment out these two lines near the end of file: createFormalButtonBar1 createFormalButtonBar2 I hope, that's wahat you need ![]() Greetings Reik Schröder ------------------------- Evosoft GmbH for Siemens Industry Sector Berlin, Germany |

This looks like it will affect the entire database. I was hoping for a way for a single user to customize as needed.

You could give the user their own copy of DOORSHOME (and its subdirectories) and then use the startup switch options so they use that customised version of the format.dxl. |

That change would be done on the user's Client machine and affects only the way that client's Formal modules are built. It would have no affect on anyone else nor does it affect the Data in the database.
Never-the-less it doesn't look like a good solution, lets not encourage folks to edit their DOORS install. However... Changing display schemes does not affect the underlying data. You could make a database display 'Scheme' that features smaller fonts. This wouldn't make the module window bigger but will display more stuff in the window. As an admin, Tools menu >Options >Display tab >Fonts tab. For 'Headings', change the font size for each of the levels, perhaps reducing each by size 2: double click each of the 10 levels and edit size in the sub-box. Then pull down 'Body Text' and reduce all 10 of them by 2. Then [Save As...] with a name like 'Small Fonts'. That display scheme is saved in the DB and you could advertise to folks that they could use it, just remind them to Options >Tools >Display and select 'Database default' when they are done. DOORS doesn't normally let you define font size inside Text attributes but I believe you can do it. I don't know what will display when you change the Display Scheme and view and object with explicit font size; I presume the explicit size takes precedence. - Louie |
