Through the GUI, I can open a module, select module properties, go to the Linksets tab, and restrict which linksets are allowed to be used for that module.
The question is, "Is there a way to do this through DXL?" If so, please point me in the proper direction... If not, has anybody ever had to deal with this problem and how did you handle it? Thanks for the help, Mark ------------------------- Mark Phillips mark.phillips@swri.org |

For whatever reason, "Default Link Modules" (also called "Linkset Pairings LSPs) in the user interface are known as "Link Module Descriptors LMDs) in DXL. See the end of Chapter 11 "Links". Also Email Telelogic and ask for the updated v6 commands that didn't make it into the manual.
I've got a few scripts that deal with this but cannot send them. One takes ALL the LMDs in the database and writes them to a backup Text file. Another reads the file and can assign them back to the current module, or all modules in the current project. A third looks for LMDs with "blank" module names and removes them since they are corrupted and useless. LMDs do NOT survive archive and restore and I doubt survive partition/rejoin. A common mistake around here is to confuse LMDs with "LinkSets". Creating a LMD or LSP does NOT create the associated LinkSet. - Louie |
