When I export a module that has a lot of pictures in it to MS Word, it is much smaller than the same module exported to RTF. The difference in size was at least 10X.

If you mean "export a module with a lot of OLE diagrams" then I'd say that MS-Word accepts them in OLE format, wherease RTF converts them to a bit map. Can you activate the thing in MS-Word but cannot activate it in RTF?

I'm not embedding OLE objects (e.g., where you see the icon for the object type such as an Excel spreadsheet.)
The pictures I'm referring to are basically screen captures that are cut and pasted into the Object Text, so you can actually see the diagrams. Most of the reviewers prefer to read print-outs rather than off of a computer so OLE objects wouldn't allow them to see the contents of the diagrams. |

Just in case: You can insert OLE diagrams into DOORS, opting to show only the Icon or opting to show the diagram itself. I've never actually inserted one displaying just the icon. Those OLE that you can see will export to MS-Word still visible.
The attached DXL will tell you if the current object has an OLE or a Picture in the text. When I paste a screen shot, I get an OLE and not a picture. DOORS Pictures are hopeless. If you DO have something that you want as a picture then I'd insert it inside an OLE diagram. - Louie PS. Notice that "Picture" is associated with the object itself and is NOT stored in an attribute. OLE diagrams, since DOORS v5, are stored in Text Attributes and you can have several such OLEs. |
