Hello,
we are looking for a way to import data from outlook to DOORS, directly, like it works with the DOORS icon in Word. Did anyone tried to implement such a thing? Thank You, Yoram. Edited: 23-Aug-2005 at 14:29 by Yoram Bechler |

I think that you'll find this impossible, even with an external tool. Unlike Word (and Excel, Access, and Powerpoint), Outlook cannot be customized using VBA. In theory, you might be able to write an external, standalone program (in Visual Basic, C++, etc.) that could copy info from Outlook into DOORS, but I'm betting that it would be impossible.

Outlook provides an object library you can use in the same way as Excel and Word do, but if you haven't used it before it may put you a bit out of your comfort zone. What exactly are you trying to do?
Running a macro that dumps a file, then fires a dxl to process that file is entirely possible. ------------------------- Regards, Richard Good |

What We are trying to do is to open an email, than by using an icon, to copy the data from this email to a specific DOORS Module.
Sound like something preaty easy to do, but i was trying to save some time ... :-) If you have an idea, it will be highly appreciated. |
