Hello all,

I'm using WEXP 11.5 with DOORS 7.1.

For some reason, I am getting inconsistent behavior with attributes in headers and footers of section breaks.

For instance, let's say I have an attribute called DOCUMENT_NUMBER, and I put it in the header as <<DOCUMENT_NUMBER>>. What is happening is that on some word WEXP templates, the <<DOCUMENT_NUMBER>> gets replaced in section 2 and up, and in others it doesn't get replaced, ever.

I do not have "Same as Previous" checked because the header/footer has to be different in section 2. However, when I have "Same as Previous" I don't get this error, but of course then my document isn't formatted correctly.

Usually when I start out, the attributes get replaced in section 2 and above, but then in the course of doing more customization, the error above occurs, and once it does, I can't seem to get the desired behavior back.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips for this?

Thank you,
Kev

Just want to add one thing: The problem is in the Word template and not the DOORS module using any WEXP stuff. When I try a different Word template, it works fine. The problem is that the different template is in a vastly different format, and when I try to change it, it will eventually get the error I describe above.

If anyone can tell me where to begin to look at this, I'd be very appreciative.

I figured out what causes this behavior, but I can't think of a workaround except writing a macro, which I have wanted to avoid.

The reason this has been happening is because I had Section 1 header/footer set to be "different first page." I don't want a footer on the first page. This caused the WEXP export time on my test to go from about 45 seconds to two minutes.

Removing the "different first page" option fixed the headers and footers problem in the rest of the document.

I believe this to be a bug in WEXP.

Anyone else care to verify/test?

Kev
