Hi All,

I have a problem while operating DOORS in Citrix environment. When I want to export the contents of a module to Word by File - Export - MS Office - Word, the dialog box with the General and Advanced tabs appears. I select the way I want the Word document to appear with the Document template unchecked (i.e leave it at the default normal.dot) and press Export. Nothing happens.
I tried selecting the Document template to my C: drive (NORMAL.DOT), but again nothing happens. I see that Office 2003 is available in Citrix as a separate application folder.
How do I make DOORS export process detect and start the Word application? Somehow we are not able to resolve this issue. I need this to get going so that the overseas clients will be able to make use of this feature.
There is no problem while exporting DOORS data through File - Export - Rich Text Format or Spreadsheet.

This is just a wild guess. Perhaps you can start Citrix 'in-a-box' rather than 'seamlessly'. On the Citrix login page there should be an options button that lets you change the interface, I tend to use size 80% of screen.

You need to have Word installed on the Citrix server. If Word isn't installed, nothing happens, as you described (instead of Doors being useful telling you that it could not find Word)

I understand that when DOORS is accessed through Citrix, Word has to be published simultaneously, even though Word exists as a separate application on the Citrix. This has to be done through DOS commands.
Can anyone suggest what code lines are to be written and where are they written? I suppose that the IT guys who are authorized to control Citrix are to do it.

Word doesn't need to be published, just installed. Is it possible that the Word application that you see published could be on a physically different Citrix server from Doors?

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the response. As I look at it, all the applications are on the Metaframe server but in different folders. DOORS 8.2 is in the DOORS application folder and Word is in the MS Office folder.
Is there a way I can attach a screen shot of the Metaframe server web page for clarification?
