Has anybody ever created something to reverse the 'setup for sharing' configuration ?
One of my modules has been over-setup for sharing, so that it's perfomance has decresed significantly. I know officially that this is irreversable, but I was just wondering if anyone has found a way ? Thanks Andrew. ------------------------- Andrew Tagg Astrium EADS Requirements Management Team Stevenage United Kingdom andrew.tagg@astrium.eads.net www.astrium.eads.net |

Try this simple snipped
Object o for o in (current Module) do { inherited(o) } See also chapter "inherited, inheritedDef, inheritedVal" in the DXL-Manual. The Object type "inherited" is the opposite to the type "specific" whis will divide the module in (specific) sections for locking purposes in the case of editing with more than one person at the same time. Andrew,
It is documented, but little known among DOORS users, that setting up "editable sections" in a module actually restructures the way the database stores the module. "Try not to set up editable sections unless you need them. Performance gets poorer as the number of editable sections increases, because each editable section is stored in a separate file in the database." (Using DOORS 6 manual, Understanding editable sections) As far as I know the change is permanent. Just undoing the specific access rights will not undo the restructuring. You could copy all of the objects and attributes (using Tools->Functions->Copy Objects...) and views to a freshly created module, and that should solve the restructuring. ------------------------- Michael Sutherland michael@galactic-solutions.com http://galactic-solutions.com |
