Does anyone have a script that can archive and restore a set of page setups in a database? We are moving one project to another database, and we want to move the page setups for that project as well. All the page setup names for that project begin with the project name.
Thanks! |

Never done it. See chapter 'Page setup functions' in the DXL manual.
You will need two scripts; one to gather all the Page Layouts in the source database and write their information to a text file; the 2nd script to run in the target database which reads the text file and sets all the page layouts. My first impression is that these two scripts would look like the attached outlines. Good luck. - Louie |

Marcie, I am not where I can test the following approach -- but perhaps you are.
The page layout information may be contained in a folder on the server. You may be able to copy the folder to your new database and have the problem solved. Perhaps tech support can verify this approach and provide you the name of the folder. |

The layouts are stored in a folder in the data directory on the server: ...\data\v6data\layout
However the layout files and layout index file are in binary format, similar to the contents of a module folder (.dtc and .ixc files). |

Dennis, your previous however statement probably is a false alarm and is not a show stopper. If there is possibility to use the Layout folder to achieve the desired results, the folder could work if same version "Series" of DOORS is used.
If needed, tech support can decript the required files, if the user doesn't know how to decript the files. |

In the preivious post, I should of used the term uncompressed instead of decrypt to be technically correct. Would of edited previous message but Telelogic messed up the form and hide the edit button.
