I want to bring a module (I want all attributes to come over) from Database A to Database B (Database A and B are on different servers).  When I import into Database B I want each object to have a new Object Identifier (Absolute Number) but I want to retain the Object Identifier from Database A in a different Attribute.  The module has many embedded graphics if that is relevant.

Thus in Database B all the absolute numbers will initially be sequential.  Thanks.

Jerry

Hello Jerry.

One solution would be:-

1. In the Database A module create a new integer attribute.

2. In the A module from Tools-> Functions->Copy Attributes-> Source Attribute - Absolute Number -> Target Attribute - New Integer Attribute.

3. Create a new module and import the required attribute definitions Edit->Attributes->Import-> Browse and navigate to source and select the required attributes to import, including the new Integer Attribute.

4. 5. In the Database A module ->Tools->Functions->Copy Objects -> select target module and attributes and all objects to copy.

7. Archive B module and restore on New Server.

If you need to retain the Object Identifier , i.e. Prefix concatenated with Absolute Number then: prepare a view with Object Identifier and your new integer attribute in it, and export to spreadsheet. Create a string or text attribute in B and import spreadsheet using new integer attribute as unique ID import. Delete New integer attribute post import.
