When running a TOOLS->find  for a word within the text, I receive these error message in the DXL window and a dialog about the error and I click OK to continue:

-R-E- DXL: <Line:1> Module does not have a window
-I- DXL: execution halted

What's causing this to happen?

Hi John,

could it be, that one the modules you want to search in has layout dxl in deault view?!
The error message seems not to be raised by the find script but by some other code which is run on opening the modules.
A trigger could be the problem to.

I think of that because the error message points to "Line:1" --> so it makes not much sense if this is related to currently running script

Greetings
Reik

I get this error a lot. It happens to me when I load certain views. I have reported it to Telelogic, but they said: "Development has logged this as an unreproducible defect". First they said it was a trigger in my database, but I have NO triggers -- I even ran the code they provided to check for triggers and got zero. I also tried recreating the views trying multiple combinations of "specific module", "All open modules" and "All modules". It made no difference. The layout DXL is created using their wizard.

I altered the search to a single folder to try and identify the offending item and I got this error message:

-E- DXL: <Line:1> could not open include file (C:\Program Files\DOORS_8.0\DOORS_8.0\lib\dxl\CONECT Scripts\GrpAHRD\Deref_Obj_Text_Close.dxl) (Invalid argument)
-I- DXL: all done with 1 error and 0 warnings

this is strange since  I'm running DOORS 8.1 and its in a Telelogic folder under Program Files!
this sound like a dxl file is somehow been referenced in an 'old' copy of formal module developed by an administrator with a custom DXL script in the ...CONECT Scripts\GrpAHRD\ folder?

have to take this question to my DOORS administator, I guess...

What about a script that would list the DXL attributes for ALL of the projects modules?
I could show the admin guy what needs to be fixed....
