Its complicated and belongs to the company so I cannot post it, but I made a rediculous trigger with these characteristics: pre-open module trigger; knows whether its fired for this user today; looks for an @ in the email of the current user, infobox if not.
Basically, this trigger is a database login trigger that first fires when the user opens some module. Don't use v8.2 yet, but using the new database notify capability seems the way to go. Find users with bad Email addresses and tell them so. - Louie |

We hear a lot about administrators wanting to force users to do stuff.
It seems that most users (no names) are like untrained puppies. As an administrator we need to resist the tempatation to chase them with a rolled up newspaper and instead train them to use doors responsibly. As Louie says, use the facilities that are there to inform the users about what they need to do. Don't start writing triggers. As a last resort, if they don't comply then disable their account. It won't be long before they, or their manager, come running for help. ------------------------- Tony Goodman http://www.smartdxl.com |
