Another note to this one;

I have been working on a laptop with a dongle. I get a similar error message if I have been connected to a network and then I disconnect. This is with the database on the laptop, and the dongle in the back of the laptop. Somehow, disconnecting from a network that is completely irrelevant to the use of DOORS causes a problem.

Using a Dongle (Hardware Key), I sometimes experience the problem that DOORS somehow doesn't see the license anymore. Message: License Server not Available. Since using the dongle, this has probably happened 4 times (over a period of say 4 months).

This is in the best case irritating (because I need to restart my PC), and in the worst case (when it happens during module save) causes module corruption.

Some background: I use a Notebook PC attached to a docking station. The problem now occured three times with the Notebook attached to the DS (and Dongle inserted in DS printer port) and once with the Notebook standalone (Dongle inserted into Notebook printer port). DOORS 5.2 (OS server side Windows 2000 Server; OS client side Win XP).

Similar experiences out there? If yes, solutions?

In the mean time, Telelogic came up with the notion of updating the Sentinel drivers. Did, this and now waiting to see if the problem reproduces or not.

But for this problem it seems I'm the only one out there having it ... ;-)

I'am using a dongle for about 1,5 years, too. And I'am going in to the same problem, the license seems unavailable (also not much, like 3-5 times in a time of some month).

I've asking Telelogic in 11.2002 for a solution, but they could'nt help me.
I've used Sentinel driver version 5.34 with Windows 2k SP2.
I have never used this dongle from this time.

I remember, the last verson of Rainbow driver is 5.37, or ?

The only alternative in my opinion is to restart your system ;-((

Dirk.

When I run the Sentinel Driver Setupx86.exe program, the Functions, Configure Sentinel Driver, About window shows Version, Setup Utility Version and VDD Version to be 5.41. After the Driver upgrade. I dont know what I had before.

doorssupport sent me this link ftp://anonftp.rainbow.com/support/SSD5.41.1nonMSI.exe to download the latest driver, together with some confusing instructions on how to update the driver. But in the end we managed ;-). Send me an e-mail if you want the instructions.

An update since my last post.

Since I upgraded the dongle driver, I had no longer any problem of this nature. In the mean time we have also migrated to DOORS 7.0 SP1 and then to 7.1, for what its worth.
