Does anyone know how to create additional worksheets and rename them in an MS-Excel workbook? The DXL reference and libraries and don't cover this feature and neither does the recently released Enhanced Export to Excel library.

I'm not familiar enough with Excel VBA to figure this out.

Thanks in advance.

Duane,

The DXL reference manual does not cover any details on how to do anything specific with Excel, and I wouldn't expect it to. You should refer to the Microsoft Excel Visual Basic Reference that comes with Excel. Sometimes it is not installed with Excel when using the default settings, so if it is not on your machine you may have to run the Excel installer again.

I have a presentation called DOORS DXL - Adventures in Microsoft OLE Automation available that gives some details on how the Enhanced Export to Excel was created. So far, creating additional worksheets and renaming them has not been a requirement, but I would be willing to look into building such features into a future version. Are you using the Enhanced Export to Excel, or doing something custom of your own?

Michael,

What I'm essentially trying to do in DXL is build a custom filter that finds requirements for certain individuals and export the results into Excel with each individual's list of assigned requirements in a separate worksheet.

Since I hardly know VBA, I don't know how to port the VBA code into DXL and whether the VBA code can be ported. I looked at some VBA code examples on-line that adds worksheets into to an Excel workbook, but I couldn't make it work in DXL.

I can build the entire DXL script except that I'm missing the DXL methods and arguments that create and rename Excel worksheets.

I appreciate if you can share a snippet of code that does these things.

Thanks in advance.
