I've created a layout DXL column pulling back some linked information. I have one user making new links in edit mode with several other users reviewing in read only. The layout dxl on the read only computers is not dynamically refreshing when the user in edit mode creates a new link. The only way to make the new information display is to log out of DOORS then log back in, reload the view.

Anyone else see this or now how to fix it.

Running DOORS 8 with patch 06

Thank

This is not a defect, its a reality of database info viewed from multiple workstations. When you 'r'ead a module you get the current copy. If someone changes that module while you have it read then you don't see the changes since your copy isn't updated. You'll get this same feature when you run two instances of DOORS, one has the module 'Read' and the other Edit's it with changes, then saves.

The info should update when you close the module and reopen it; loading some other view then back to this one should not work since your client still has the old data. However, closing a module may not actually close it such as if its open due to being linked via some other open module.

Editing a module after its already open WILL reload it from the database (and, it turns out, trigger any open module triggers you have). Reading a module when its currently Edited, I believe, does not reload the module. Shared acts like Edit I believe.
