Hi,
We import a considerable amount of requirements from a Unix system. The object text has manual line breaks in it to fit the window in the source application because the source app doesnt do word wrap. I want to get rid of the line breaks because it is really annoying. Does anyone know how to do this? We get the export in a csv file, do some pre-processing in Access and then suck it into DOORS, so it doesn't necessarily have to be done in DOORS if it is easier to do it somewhere else. Thanks Neal |

Easiest way to do it in unix is to use grep or sed on the csv files.

I'm browsing the v8.1 DXL manual (don't have it installed yet), but I notice the new 'getDOSstring' command that talks about your CR-Newline issue. Perhaps its what you are looking for.

Another useful utility to look at is "unix2dos", available in most Unix installations. It will quickly convert a file from ISO to DOS and has command line switches for replacing line breaks.
