I'm importing Word tables into DOORS as embedded OLE objects. Obviously, any Word cross references are unresolved and give an error "Reference source not found". However, the odd thing is that when I edit the embedded Word file, the cross references are displayed correctly. The only way I can see to resolve this is to manually cut/paste each xref into a temporary text file, then cut/paste it back into the embedded Word file.

Does anyone know of an easier way to do this, i.e. convert a Word xref to text in place?

Thanks,
Ken.

WEXP has support for cross references...but I've never tested it.

It'd just be a good idea to drop cross references and have your users type things out. DOORS doesn't do cross references. You could always refer to a DOORS Object ID or have a naming convention for captions.

BTW, DOORS can support captions via paragraph styles.

Good luck.
