HI,
DXL supports writing to Binary files eg: Stream binaryFile = write binary "FileName.dat". When using languages like C/C++ you can define a char as a hex number eg: char hex = 0x63 DOORS doesn't seem to support this, so how do I write binary to a binary file - it seems that I can only write ASCII characters which is not binary. ------------------------- Paul Miller Specification Practices Specialist, EuroCyber, Melbourne, Australia. Hi Paul,
I needed something similar myself so I wrote the attached function. Obviously this is limited to max input value dictated by the range of an integer, therfore the maximum hex value this function can cope with is '7FFFFFFF' (2147483647) the reason for this is that in DOORS the integer type seems to be stored as 31 bits + 1 sign bit. Since we don't use the sign bit we are limited to a 31bit number. Hope this helps.
