Hi All,
When I am copying and pasting an MS Office file (Word or Excel) as an object, I go through the following procedure. Copy the MS Office file, in DOORS module Edit - Paste Special - check the box for the icon. Sometimes the icon does not appear and only the text e.g. "Word document" appears. I try to change the icon by choosing from the template file, but it does not work. Sometimes the process works. I remember reading a thread in this forum what should be done if no icon appears. I could not find the thread by Search method. Will someone please explain and advise me what to do so that the modules show the referred file address and the icon. Thanks in advance |

I've had a similar problem with Acrobat files. To solve this when changing the icon, I had to chose the AcroRd32.dll file as the source and then one of the many icon choices did work. Not ideal. Perhaps you have a similar problem with WORD files.

Hi Krishna,
I have experienced a similar problem when inserting a word doc as an OLE. The behavior has been reported as a known problem. Check out this link : https://support.telelogic.com/en/doors/info/kpr/kpr.cfm?vid=180&ContentGroup=OLE%20Objects |
