I'm trying to set the colour of text in a DXL column based upon the data content (eg some red, some green, some blue).

It seems to me that this should be possible using rich text, because the standard "module compare" feature displays colours.

However, when I try to achieve this nothing happens.
(I took the rich text example from DOORS help, updated the colour table generated to have "red=255", and inserted a "set colour" command ("\\cf2").

Anyone know how to achieve colour in DXL columns?

For information, the DXL I end up with is as follows (bits I changed are highlighted):

string richString = "{\\rtf1\\ansi\\ansicpg1252\\deff0\\deflang1033 {\\fonttbl{\\f0\\fnil\\fprq1\\fcharset0 Times New Roman;} {\\f1\\froman\\fprq2\\fcharset2 Symbol;}} {\\colortbl ;\\red255\\green0\\blue0;\\red255\\green0\\blue0;} \\viewkind4\\uc1\\pard\\cf1\\f0\\fs20 Some plain text. \\b Some bold text.\\b0 \\b\\i \\cf2Some bold and italic text. \\b0\\i0 A symbol \\f1 a\\f0 (alpha).\\b\\i\\par }"

displayRich richTextFragment richString

Michael,
You should try the "displayRichWithColor( string )" command. Note this is only available in DOORS 7.1, there are a couple of articles about this command in the forums. I suggest you search on "richText"

Thanks for the suggestion and pointers to other forum entries.

Part of the problem is that displayRichWithColour is not in the help that I have for DOORS 7.1.

By making the display line displayRichWithColour richString, it all works wonderfully (ie use the colour display and remove the richTextFragment token).
