When I export my module (that has Visio drawings) to Word, my Visio drawing(s) get distorted pretty badly.  The text is "grainy", the arrows and lines are "jagged", and anything that has any transparency is just completely botched.  Any ideas?

Thank you,

John

Are you sure that the objects are Visio OLE objects and have not been converted to bitmap during the copy-paste into the Doors module?

We export visio objects all the time and don't have this problem.

I also have had problems with some Visio drawings and it appears to be only those that I have changed from within DOORS ie Edit>Visio Object>Open/Edit.

When exported to Word the document appears to be fine however when it is printed or converted to pdf the output of the updated images does not appear the same as the Visio image in the Word / DOORS object.

The solution appears to be to save the Visio image outside of DOORS then paste it into DOORS to replace the original.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I'm afraid that the Visio product has a bad reputation when it comes to OLE handling. Visio 2003 seems to be much better but with older versions I have had no end of trouble with Visio when it's embedded into other applications. So this is not the fault of DOORS as it has to assume that the tool vendor who owns the embedded OLE object has conformed to the OLE specification.

Yes we are experiencing this problem also. The work-around mentioned by Martin seems to be the only solution for us. Note that we are using Visio 2003. Jim
