Thomas,

Check out the thread at Sending Errors to your Editor

I don't think it is desirable or neccessary to use these little dxl programs and modify the startup. dxl, I found this to be very unreliable when I tried it years ago and it also posed problems with the context. A better strategy is to write a tool that copies the fileName surrounded by #include<> to the clipboard then simply paste it into the dxl window. I have an addon that looks for an open dxl window pastes the include file into it and pressess the run button automatically which gets over the context issue, but even I would concede that this is overkill, use the clipboard method.

Incidentally if you are just starting dxl and setting up an editor then check out pspad, it is by far the best free editor out there and the author is still very active, unlike Crimson Editors!

See attached. Note that PSPAD is also very good for scripting you can attach and run various vbs and java very easily, hope you find it as good an editor choice as I do!

Attachments for me anyway are completely useless in this forum only seem to work half the time I am attaching the file and dumping it in as code, hopefully somthing will work!

Hi Richard,

I would be much interested by your dxl2.ini file for PSPAD, but it is not available though attachement in your mail.

How could it be possible to get it ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Marc.

I have copied the file contents into the code window. Simply cut and paste the contents into a file of your choice (eg dxl.ini). I haven't had much luck with file attachments they seem very buggy.
