Does anyone know how to get an OLE object that is bigger than one page to appear?  I have an excel spread sheet linked and only the first 89 rows appear in DOORS.  Also when I export to Word the same problem exitst.  I am using the WEXP tool and have tried setting the OLE Inline attribute for the object to true but it still does not all appear in Word.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I discovered this thread whilst searching for a solution to the same problem.

I have a large spreadsheet of, say, 20 columns by 50 rows, which I need to insert as an OLE object.
When I do this, I get a small portion of the sheet visible in the object and, if i double-click on the OLE object, it opens up EXCEL with, sometimes, scroll bars, which is good. However, sometimes I get no horizontal scrollbar.

I am sometimes able to resolve this by resizing the OLE object via Tools|Support Tools, but not always. I find that if I go back to Excel, zoom out of the spreadsheet to, say, 50% and resave it, then re-insert it as an OLE object I can influence some of what is visible in the object.

This is very much a hit-and-miss process, and I just thought that there must be a better way of guaranteeing that the OLE object is in an acceptable form in DOORS. ideally, I would like to make the object too small to be viewed without double-clicking on it to activate EXCEL. At least I'd know that it was a large spreadsheet. As it is now, it is quite feasbile for users to not realise that there is information in the OLE object that is not visible to them.

BTW, we use DOORS 7.1.

Any helpful suggestions much appreciated.

If you want a better editing view in Excel then open up the object properties sheet and edit the OLE in there. All the menus, scroll bars etc are then visible.

Although that is true, zoom is one option which is greyed out, and unless the user KNOWS that the viewable OLE object is incomplete, they may not even open it for edit.

Yes, big OLE diagrams also only print the first page. We've broken up all our excel and word tables into multiple OLE diagrams.

We didn't have luck reducing the size, but at least with Word you can reduce the font within the table and thus make the table smaller.
