When exporting a MS Word file into DOORS, all of the text is duplicated either in the same object or in separate objects. I have several people using DOORS on one site who do not encounter this issue. However, I do have 1 person in a different location using the same DOORS client experiencing this problem.
I am calling tech support, but I thought I would check to see if I could get an answer to my question quicker. Has anyone seen this? If so, how do you fix it? Thanks -- |

The DOORS.dot file must match the version of DOORS.
If someone installed two versions of DOORS the last installed versions is the version of DOORS.dot installed, which can cause problem with exporting of the First installed version of DOORs. |

I'm pretty sure DOORS fails to put the new DOORS.dot file in the location where your MS-Word expects to see it. When you find the location (IIRC its something like Office/MS-Word/Startup) you might as well give it a better name such as DOORS_v71.dot when you copy it there. I'd put any other such file, such as DOORS_v62.dot in another location where you can, if need be, attach it to MS-Word via Tools >Templates and Addins. The 2nd one attached will come in 2nd in the list, so while they both look alike in the MS-Word tools menu ("Export to DOORS") you can tell which one is which. And if its confusing you can always use Templates and Addins to disable the one you don't care about.
