I have a quick question with regard to Shareable edit. I know it is possible to reverse the "shareable edit" setup for formal modules. I also realize that additional files are created when a module is broken into editable sections as a result of being setup for shareable edit. When reversing modules from their shareable edit mode, do these additional files get deleted? If not, do they continue to slow down database performance? Finally, does the process of shareable edit reversal restrict itself to removal of permissions on individual editable sections with a formal module? Any input with regard to this would be much appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Pranav |

If I recall the files that are not used are deleted -- so the number of files in the relevant directory are reduced.
I haven't a clue what your last question means. But when all shareable edits are removed all objects have same permissions with the exception of where someone has modified the object permissions to be special. |

Hi Pranav,
I do not know anything about the handling of shareable sections in filesystem ... ... but in module the shareable sections are created by breaking up the inheritance of acces rights. So to remove the sections, these "individual" (by acces rights) objects are switched back into inherit mode. Of course you need sufficient access rights (admin) to do that and of course you need them for each section. So you can not give someone admin access rights on a sectioned module (after creation of sections) to allow him to remove the sections. The access rights from module will not be inherited to the sections! Hope that helps you little bit to understand sections in modules ![]() Greetings Reik ------------------------- Evosoft GmbH for Siemens Industry Sector Berlin, Germany |
