What are the differences between the following:
Module read(string name, bood display) Module data(ModuleVersion modver) Module load(ModuleVersion modver, bool display) Module load(Module m, Baseline b, bool display) To me, they all seem to do basically the same thing, i.e., load a module. My understanding is that read always opens the current version of a module, whereas data and load can be used to load a baseline also. But, are there any other differences that aren't obvious? Hi David,
you are right: read - will open always the current version of Module. data - will return Module handle, if Module version is already opened load - will load any module version so you may come to these equations: read (szModule, bVisible) == load (moduleVersion szModule, bVisible) load (szModule, bBaseline, bVisible) == load (moduleVersion (szModule, bBaseline), bVisible) A usefull statement using data would be: Module m = data (mv); if (null m) m = load (mv, false); This will open the Module version, if it was not open before .... Hope that helps you a little bit to understand ... Greetings Reik ------------------------- Evosoft GmbH for Siemens Industry Sector Berlin, Germany |
