I use DOORS DOORS 8.3.0.1 and I have read the online help extensively, but I still do not understand why promote and demote are sometimes available and sometimes not! It is frustrating that two headings that look almost identical can have different promote/demote options. Do you know what makes the promote and demote buttons clickable?
Thanks for any help. ------------------------- Mary Schweizer BAE Systems |

Mary,
here are some rules that I have observed: - the first object in a module can neither be promoted nor demoted - same for the first object on a lower level, if it's not the only object - objects not first or last on a level can only be demoted - last object on a level can be promoted or demoted - single objects on a lower level can only be promoted - objects on first level if not first in module can be demoted First object in module ................ -> -/- - first object level 2 .................. -> -/- - second object level 2 ............. -> -/d - last object level 2 .................. -> p/d --- first and only object level 3 ... -> p/- another first level object ........... -> -/d and so on.
