I get the following error message on some workstations when exporting from word 2003:"VB error Compile error in hidden module - exportbutton callback". Other workstations do not have a problem. Any ideas on the cause?

My top guess would be a registry problem which prevents Word from making the COM link to DOORS. Have you tried reinstalling DOORS? Did the user who installed DOORS have full registry access?

I'm also having the same problem with one person.
Could someone let me know what the registry is supposed to look like? This one person had an install done previously that hosed this up. We tried uninstalling 8.0. We also just installed 8.1, but it's still giving the same ExportButtonCallback error, when selecting the Export to DOORS icon in MSWord. Any advise on how to fix this would be much appreciated. Thanks. ------------------------- Brenda Heiss Cornell |

For anyone interested. We are a large company where installing applications directly at the users desk is not feasible. So we use Tivoli to push installations. Additionally our company has locked down many of our computers such that we as users don't have specific Administrative rights to our computers. With the DOORS installation, it assumes people do have Administrative rights, and since we don't the installation doesn't work. When we tested the lastest push our DOORS 8.1, the installation of DOORS seemed to go fine, but when we attempted to use the 'Export to DOORS' icon in WORD, we were getting the 'ExportButtonCallback' error. Ultimately we found out where DOORS was needing the specific Admin rights to properly install this as a push, and our Vendor that created the script, modified the script to make sure the said places were changed for the individual users during the push installation. We had opened a ticket with Telelogic, but they never provided us information on where exactly was affected during the install, so it was our trial and error that finally got it right. We are now back in business. Incidently, for those people who receivd 8.1 and received the error message, we had to uninstall and reinstall with the new push in order for the error to be corrected. New installs seem to be functioning fine.
