I am in the process of upgrading our user community to DOORS & DOORSnet 8.1.  During this test time, I want to allow them to have access to the 7.1 database via DOORSnet while I am checking out the 8.1 version.  Is there anyway to configure the session manager to access one or the other?  I have ISS virtual directories set up separately and get the respective version up to the point of the access page.  From there on, only the 8.1 version is available.

Use separate ports for versions 7.1 and 8.1; i.e. 36677 [DOORS default] and 36699 [or whatever sys admin/IT allows]. You can run both on the same server using separate ports.

I have the database on separate ports and it works fine in DOORS. It is the DOORSNet session manager that seems to be unable to access both. I see that I have only one session manager running. Do I need to have two running and listening on different ports (e.g., 8002 instead of 8001, etc)?

You have to run the two DOORSnets on different computers - if you want to have access to different databases through DOORSnet.

Look in the Managing DOORSnet manual for the chapter "Publishing data in multiple DOORS databases".

You can only have one DOORSnet session manager. Need different ports. 8002 is default and 8100 is for session manager. can have multiple DOORSnet servers on the same machine pointing to one database. To access 2 different databases, then the 2nd DOORSnet should be on another computer.
