![]() Answer: Hi, In DOORS 7.1, you have a comparison wizard which does exactly that. you can find it under the tools menu. Hope it helps. Asaf. | |

I have been tasked with finding a means of comparing the contents of two modules. These modules may or may not be the same ones. For example, what if we received a new version of a requirements module from a customer (in DMA format) and we wanted to see if they had changed anything.
I COULD export them both to an ASCII editor and do a WINDIFF (or other type of compare) or even the more finicky MS Word compare, but it is preferable to have a DXL script within DOORS. Anybody do this already? I was wondering about a variation on Baseline compare... but I have not looked into it yet. |

Thanks. I saw that... I can use this as part of a case to get us to update sooner rather than later, however I also wish there were an interum solution not involving taking the module out into raw text (etc).

I am using DOORS 6 and the compare modules in it is woefull. It only compares the object text and heading fields as basic strings. It does not compare any other attributes and ignores rich text and oles. Most of our requirements documents contain many embedded pictures as OLEs. Does anyone who has DOORS 7 know if the module compare does a proper job?
