Answer:
Dear Olga:

After reading your last message, I read again a previous message posted by Michael Sutherland.
Then I tried with ALT key instead of CTRL key and runs ok!. For example, If I need to write an accented a (á), first I typed ALT + Accent and then I typed letter "a". Obviously, I'm hitting and additional key comparing with normal usage in other Windows application, but it could be a temporary solution until Telelogic provides a robust support for foreign languages.

Try it and tell me your results.

Warm regards,

Daniel

Daniel,

You can insert accented letters using the Insert->Symbol function. The Latin-1 character set has all the letters required for Spanish.

Cheers,
Liz

Daniel,

The following key combinations seem to work in DOORS 6.0 SR1. Performing them with "Caps Lock" set gives upper case.

Also, on a PC with a real numeric keypad, ALT + 131 gives à, and so forth. See the following link for details.

Unfortunately, I tried these methods in 5.2 and they do not seem to work. I assume that they work in DOORS 6 as part of the overall Rich Text updates. Perhaps a motivation to upgrade?

à, è, ì, ò
CTRL +`(ACCENT GRAVE), the letter

á, é, í, ó
CTRL + (APOSTROPHE), the letter

â, ê, ô
CTRL + SHIFT+ ^ (CARET), the letter

ñ
CTRL + SHIFT + ~ (TILDE), n

ä, ë, ï, ö, ü
CTRL + SHIFT +: (COLON), the letter

ç
CTRL + , (COMMA), c

Dear Daniel,

We have the same problem with a Czech keyboard.
What version of Windows do you use?
Our experience: this problem doesn’t appear to Windows NT, we found it on Windows 2000 (with other versions we haven’t an experience).

Best regards,

Olga Benesova

Dear Daniel,

We use Windows NT 4.0 (english version). We set "location" on czech. (I mean setting in Control panel - Regional options).
I think, that problem should be somewhere between DOORS and a keyword. For some Czech letters, I have two ways, how could I write it. First, press one key, second writes it by using 2 keys - an accent and a letter. An interesting thing is, that when I use one-key, I write this letter correct, but when I want to use two-keys writing, I find the problem we discuss about it. Unfortunately, we have some letters, less often use, which I could write only using 2 keys.
When I need to correct all text in DOORS, first I export it to "*.cvs" format; after, I correct it in MS Excel, save, finally I import it back to the DOORS - use setting for upgrade. I know that it is very uncomfortable, but I’m able to correct all mistakes.
The function, you write about, always return me “… is in your system default character set“.

Regards, Olga

Dear Daniel,

I’m celebrating it works (pressing ALT + accent + letter)
Hope, the new version - DOORS 7 solve all our problems and don’t make new ones.

Best regards,

Olga
