Hi,

We import a considerable amount of requirements from a Unix system. The object text has manual line breaks in it to fit the window in the source application because the source app doesnt do word wrap.

I want to get rid of the line breaks because it is really annoying.

Does anyone know how to do this?

We get the export in a csv file, do some pre-processing in Access and then suck it into DOORS, so it doesn't necessarily have to be done in DOORS if it is easier to do it somewhere else.

Thanks

Neal

Easiest way to do it in unix is to use grep or sed on the csv files.

I'm browsing the v8.1 DXL manual (don't have it installed yet), but I notice the new 'getDOSstring' command that talks about your CR-Newline issue. Perhaps its what you are looking for.

Another useful utility to look at is "unix2dos", available in most Unix installations. It will quickly convert a file from ISO to DOS and has command line switches for replacing line breaks.
