Someone just brought a situation to my attention today and wanted to know if anyone knew anything about this.
We have requirements in a module that are synching with Quality Center. That requirement module in DOORS was Baselined (thus history was stripped and is with the baseline which is fine.) With this baselined module, I would expect to see the change bar to be green. For most of the requirements the change bar is yellow meaning to me that something has changed and saved. As I look at the history of the module, as well as a particular object, I don't see any history. This particular requirements module does happen to be the target of the Test Data module, so I'm not expecting to see any link history (this shows in the Test Data module created by the synch between QC back to DOORS). The Auto generated email that was sent also indicates that a change was made to the Object Text, yesterday. But again, when I look at the history of the requirment's object text in question, there is no change. So my question is, would the synch between QC back to the DOORS Test Data module actually cause the requirements modules change bar turn from green to yellow, as well as generate an auto generated email indicating that the Object Text changed, if the change happened to be a link from the Test Data module TO the Requirement (which obviously has the Object Text)?? Hope this makes sense, as I'm trying to figure out why an auto-generated email is being sent if in fact the Object Text in DOORS really hasn't changed, nor has any of the attributes of the object requirement in question. ------------------------- Brenda Heiss Cornell |

Don't know anything about QC, but I do know that the 'history' and the 'changebars' properties of attributes need not be the same. That is, if you turn History off and ChangeBars on for an attribute and then change one of the values, the change bar will turn yellow but there will be no History.
Perhaps QC doesn't change the 'Object Text' attribute but rather changes some other QC attribute, which has History turned off. - Louie |
