Answer:
To add the "Export to doors"button to MS Word, you can follow any one of the methods below: 1.Go to the $DOORSHOME/lib/word directory 2.copy the doors.dot file to the startup directory for MS office This is in [MS office installation directory]/office/startup.For example"C:\Program files\Microsoft Office\startup". OR 1.Open a blank document in MS word 2.select the Tools->Templates and Add-ins pulldown 3.click on the Addbutton 4.Map to the \lib\word directory and select the doors.dot file 5.click on OK and it should add the Export to DOORS icon your toolbar. ***************************************** After doing one of the options above, i got an error about macros. I did the below, but it still wasnt right so i just re-mapped to the right doors.dot file and word asked me if i wanted to enable macros... In Word, go to Tools->Templates and Addins. Make sure the box next to doors.dot is checked. If it is checked, go to Tools->Macro->Security and make sure you don't have security set to "High". If it is set to high, Word will automatically disable any untrusted macros (DOORS.DOT is not trusted).

Hello.  I recently came to notice that the option to export a document from word to DOORS is gone.  i tried repairing doors and modifying doors, but that has made no change.  i havent uninstalled it yet, and wanted to avoid that if at all possible.

thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Question - Is only the DOORS icon gone or can you still export via the Tools - Export to Doors menu in Word.

You may need to have the doors.dot file in the word startup folder which in my case is
"c:\documents and settings\myname\application data\microsoft\Word\startup"

that "doors.dot" file is still there. The export functionality is gone from the Tools menu as well. I'm not sure what i did. It was either the install then uninstall of DOORS-Trek last week or the disk cleanup i did today...
