I followed the instructions for requesting the Rhapsody file on Friday. The download did not include a dummy copy of the the license, or even the folder mentioned in the instructions. I created the folder and copied in/ renamed the license.dat file that I recieved in the separate e-mail. I got the attached error message about problems with the License Server. I checked the contents of the .dat file and it appears not to have copied in the host name I had given in the request. I tried re-issuing my request, as well as manually modifying the license file to add the hostname in. Each time I had the same result and the .dat file inclded the following text in 2 places

"VENDOR_STRING=T932-148599 \
HOSTID=DISK_SERIAL_NUM=700b08c2 "

I had previously installed a trial version of Rhapsody and the Tau Modeler with no issue. Could those be interfering with the Rhapsody Modeler licensing? any suggestestions / guidance would be welcome.

I have same problem. I asked for more licenses, because I was not sure, that I wrote correct serial number, but no improvement.
You have to select license file, but it also does not help. Can sombody explane what is going on ?

The host name provided does not appear explicitly in the license file. That is ok.

Save the attached license file on your computer as license.dat. During the installation process, you will be prompted to provide a license type. During installation specify "A client license file" and browse to the location of the license file.

If you have already installed Telelogic Modeler and did not install the license file, you can run the license wizard on Windows by selecting Start -> All Programs -> Telelogic -> Telelogic Lifecycle Solutions Tools -> Telelogic Licensing 11 -> Telelogic License Setup. When prompted by the wizard for license type choose "Node Locked License" and follow the prompts.

This process is setting an environment variable TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE. You could edit this variable to put the path the Modeler license file first so it is found first.

Sorry, actually for Modeler the Telelogic Lifecycle Solutions are not there unless you have another Telelogic product installed. When you start Modeler you are prompted to specify the license. You should select "Specify the license file" and then browse to the license file that you had saved earlier.

I had also had license-related problems with Telelogic Modeler, so I thought I would post the solutions I found.

I had a previous version (7.1) of Rhapsody installed, configured to obtain its license from a license server. Telelogic Modeler attempted to use this license file to find a license. I uninstalled Rhapsody 7.1 and removed the TELELOGIC_LICENSE_FILE environment variable and registry key, and when next starting Telelogic Modeler was prompted to select a license file.

Unfortunately, selecting the license file did not work -- Telelogic Modeler looked for C:\flexlm\license.dat regardless of which license file I selected when prompted. Placing my license file in this location fixed *this* license issue. Unfortunately, I then received FLEXNet error 103,577 when trying to start Telelogic Modeler. It would appear MATLAB users on Vista (for the record, I'm running XP) have experienced similar problems; a workaround is to run Telelogic Modeler in Windows NT compatibility mode.

Hope this helps those of you with license issues,
-Matt
