The email I received contained no file that worked at the license.dat file according the the installation instructions for the free modeler. I renamed what appeared to be a close to empty text file to license.dat, but modeler didn't like it when I pointed the program to it. The modeler software returns a msg, "Unable to get license" Can anyone give me a hint? thx

Hi,

The license file should not be empty.

I would suggest you try requesting a new license (making sure to use an 8 character disk serial number without the dash). Optionally provide a different e-mail address this time.

You may also want to check the Message header of the e-mail that the license came in, to see whether your e-mail client or anti-virus software may have zapped the file thinking it may have contained a virus.

Finally, if the above fails I would suggest you contact Telelogic by e-mail to request a new license. If so, I would suggest you provide them with as much information as possible to help them track down where your problem occurred. In particular, you should include the disk serial number your license should be for.

Best regards
/Erik

The license should not be empty. It should contain numerous lines of text.

I would suggest you should:

1. Try resubmitting the license request, making sure to use an 8 character disk serial number (without the dash).

2. Optionally use a different e-mail account (and/or review the message header of the license delivery e-mail to see whether your e-mail client and/or anti-virus may have zapped the file thinking it was a virus).

3. Consider contacting Telelogic by e-mail to request a new license. Make sure to include your disk serial number in any such request.

Best regards
/Erik

Did you apply for the license at "http://autolicense.telelogic.com/license_modelerem"?
Login here and enter the data for your machine (name and disk_id (if windows))
You then get a license .dat file emailed to you. Save this and start modeller. When it asks browse to the license.dat file you saved and you should be okay. It worked for me!

No problem on my side : I got the following mail with an attached xxxxxx_license.dat file and it runs OK.
Did you previously execute the procedure on the web site (which resquests to provide your disk serial number to generate the license file) ?

Best regards
Philippe

Dear .....
Attached please find your Telelogic Modeler license key.
Save the attached license file onto your computer's hard disk as "license.dat". Keep note of the directory where you saved the license file, as you will need this during the installation process.
To install Telelogic Modeler, double-click the 'setup.exe' file you downloaded from our site and follow the instructions that are presented to you.
For further questions please login to the Telelogic Modeler Help Center.

Hi,
there seems to be a bug in the License System or at some eMail Provider.
I wasn't able to get a license to arcor.de but yahoo.com is working.
Regards Hendrik
