When I try to install modeller the Installation shield fails to perform successfully. At the step which is actually named "Preparing to install"
it expands an additional menu named "Telelogic modeler tau edition 2.7" which says "Addins". It contains the button "OK" which when pressed seazes the installation without any additional comments.

Why?

Some more questions for you:
Are you running the installer with all other programs closed down? Also make sure to not have any msiexec.exe processes running since that might interfere and get a behavior like this.

Is this reproducible on other machines, or is it isolated to one single computer?

Normally there is an error number in a dialog that pops during the installation. If there is, that number would help us investigate the case.
