Good afternoon Telelogic forum,

Product Version: TAU Modeler 2.7
Operating system: Windows XP, Service Pack 2
Module or Tool: none
Third party complier: none

Tried to install Tau Modeler 2.7 not knowing I needed the
license file.
I found the license file, attached.
I uninstalled Tau Modeler 2.7. and reinstalled.
This time when it ask me for file license or site license
I chose file license and put in the path on my computer
to the attached file.
I still get the Unable to Find License Error. When I went to
Help, About, License Information the first time it
crashed. The second time it said the path was
C:\Program Files\Telelogic\Tau_Modeler_2.7\license.dat
So I saved the attached file with that file name at that path.
still get Unable to Find License error.

Thanks.

I got the same problem with Tau Modeler 3.1 version! I downloaded and installed modeler. I placed the license.dat in C:\Program Files\Telelogic\TAU_Modeler_3.1\. There is no problem starting the program, but the problem occurs when I try to create a new project. The modeler complaints and issues ?Unable to get license? error message. So the new project file has never been created correctly.

I checked the About Telelogic Modeler on Help Menu. I saw Support ID and Support password information there. But the modeler keeps complaining about not being able to locate license key. I don't know if I placed the license file in the correct location.

I tried to reinstall but did not get any improvement.

Is there a patch out there that solves this problem. Please help, thanks,

Jonathan

same problem here. A popup that says "unable to get license" and an ok button... What kind of error message is that? Why not proposing a solution to the problem instead?

Hi!

I suspect this is because you have given the wrong Disk Serial Number when requesting the license.

At a command-prompt type: Vol C:

Does the DSN given there correspond to the DSN found in the license file (can be opened in any text editor).

If not, please request a new license.

Regards / Stefan

I also have the same problem. I requested a new license but still the same problem.

What is the difference between the IT and embedded version?

When I looged in the next day the error was gone. So I think a restart after installation is a good idea.

I have the same problem with Modeller 4.0. I have checked the license file and found that the volume id in it is not with capitals but with small form. I have reregistered and recived a new license file with the same potential problem. I also tried to modify the volume id in the license file but no improvement.

In Telelogic's standard email they inform that there is a tool for managing the license, but in my installation I can't find that.

Telelogic Lifecycle Solutions Tools ->
Telelogic Licensing 11 ->
Telelogic License Setup

It seems that Telelogic does not worry about it at all.
