Installing InfoSphere Optim pureQuery Runtime for z/OS Version 3.1.1

This topic contains instructions for installing InfoSphere® Optim™ pureQuery Runtime for z/OS® Version 3.1.1.

When installing this product, you should refer to the Program Directory for IBM® Optim pureQuery Runtime for z/OS (GI10-8906-00) as your primary source for installation instruction. Some of the information from that publication is summarized and repeated here.

This publication applies to version 3.1.1 of IBM InfoSphere Optim pureQuery Runtime for z/OS.

Hardware, software, and user privilege requirements

For a list of the system requirements for installing InfoSphere Optim pureQuery Runtime for z/OS Version 3.1.1, see http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27022224. You can install IBM InfoSphere Optim Runtime for z/OS on the system where your pureQuery or pureQuery-enabled application is running. If your application uses stored procedures with pureQuery, install the product on the database server against which the stored procedures run.

Installation instructions

Runtime configuration

To execute Java applications that use pureQuery programming interfaces after installation, you must include pdq.jar and pdqmgmt.jar in the execution CLASSPATH for the runtime environment of that application. If the application will execute in a web application server container, refer to the documentation for that application server for more information about configuring additional jar files in that environment.
