The pureQuery GeneratePureQueryXml
utility can import SQL performance statistics from an InfoSphere® Optim™ Query
Workload Tuner XML file. For DB2® for z/OS®, you must enable the collection
of statistics to capture some performance statistics.
About this task
You can enable capturing of some statistics either from InfoSphere Query Workload
Tuner or from the DB2 for z/OS console.
Procedure
To enable capturing of statistics from InfoSphere Optim Query
Workload Tuner:
- In InfoSphere Optim Query Workload Tuner, navigate
to the Query Tuner Workflow Assistant.
- Click the tab 2. Capture.
- In the section DB2 for z/OS Sources,
select Statement Cache. Capture
SQL from Statement Cache opens.
- In Capture SQL from Statement Cache,
click Enable Collection of Statistics.
Results
InfoSphere Query
Workload Tuner captures SQL and performance statistics.
As an
alternative, run one of the following commands from the DB2 for z/OS console
to enable capturing statistics:
- START TRACE(P) DEST(GTF) CLASS(30) IFCID(318)
- START TRACE(P) DEST(SMF) CLASS(30) IFCID(318)
What to do next
After you finish capturing SQL statements and statistics
with InfoSphere Query
Workload Tuner you can disable capturing statistics.
In InfoSphere Optim Query Workload Tuner, navigate to the Capture
SQL from Statement Cache page and click Disable
Collection of Statistics.
As an alternative, run
the STOP TRACE(P) TNO(TNO) command from the DB2 for z/OS console.
