Before you can configure the subsystem from the client,
monitor and tune query workloads, and use the advanced query tuning
features of IBM® InfoSphere Optim™ Query Tuner for DB2 for z/OS® or InfoSphere Optim Query
Workload Tuner for DB2 for z/OS,
you must active the product license on a DB2® for z/OS subsystem.
About this task
You can activate your product license by running a JCL
job on the subsystem.
If you do not activate the license for
your product, you can access only the no-charge features. For a list
of features, see Features by product.
Procedure
- On the subsystem, modify one of the following JCL jobs
to conform to your environment:

- Add a valid job card.
- Locate and change all instances of the following items
as indicated:
- Change !DSN! to the name of the DB2 subsystem.
- Change DSNTIA!! to the plan name for DSNTIAD
utility on the DB2 subsystem.
- Change DSN!!0 to the prefix of the target
library for the DB2 subsystem.
- Run the JCL job. The job creates a user-defined
function that activates the product on the subsystem and enables advanced
features of the InfoSphere Optim Query Tuner client for
that subsystem.
