Modifying these global options requires that you close all open instances of the workflow assistant for the changed values to take effect. Therefore, you should consider whether you want to modify them before you start capturing and tuning SQL statements and query workloads. You can, however, modify any of these values for individual SQL statements and query workloads before running advisors and tools by clicking Set advisor options on the left side of the Invoke section of the Query Tuner workflow assistant.
Options exist for all of the advisors. You can also set options for how to gather EXPLAIN information for SQL statements, options for tracing, and more. You can modify global options even if you are not currently connected to a database.
To modify values for global options:
If any instances of the workflow assistant are open, close them. You can save your work when you close them, and then reopen your work from the Project Explorer.
