Making an existing change plan active

To add changes to or to modify any changes in an existing change plan, the change plan must be active.

Before you begin

A connection to the database with the change plan must exist.

About this task

When you work with a change plan, you might not finish defining all of your changes at one time, or you might decide that you want to run the changes at a later time. You can save and close the change plan and then activate and work with it at a later time.

You can activate a change plan even when another change plan is active in the Object List.

Procedure

  1. In the Administration Explorer, drill down to and expand the database.
  2. Click the Change Plans folder. The changes plans for the database are displayed in the Object List.
  3. Right-click the change plan that you want to activate, and click Edit.

If another change plan is currently active, that plan is closed. If the plan has unsaved changes, you are prompted specify whether the changes are saved or discarded when the plan is closed.

Results

The change plan becomes the active change plan in the change plan toolbar.
