You can export recommendations from advisors, access plan
graphs, formatted SQL statements, and reports, so that other people
can import them into their workspaces and view them.
Before you begin
The people who import this information must be using the IBM® Data Studio full client or administration
client, version 3.1.1, and they must be able to connect to the database
or subsystem that the SQL statement runs on.
Procedure
To share analysis results:
- Export the project that contains the results to share:
- If you just ran the single-query advisors, tools, reports,
or any combination of these features, close the workflow assistant
by clicking the X symbol in its tab or by right-clicking
the tab and selecting Close. The
workflow assistant prompts you to save your work and the results to
a project. Specify a project and click Save and Exit.
- In the Project Explorer, right-click the project that
contains the results that you want to share and select Export.
- In the Export window, expand Query
Tuner and select Projects. Export
the project to your file system.
- Send the project to the people with whom you want to
share it.
- View the results in a different client:
- Select .
- In the Import window, expand Query
Tuner and select Projects. Import
the project from the file system.
- In the Project Explorer, expand the project until you
find the analysis result object that contains the information that
you want to view.
- Double-click the analysis result, or right-click it
and select Open.
- Select a connection to associate with the analysis result. The workflow assistant opens to the Review section.
