Extracting and verifying electronic images

When you extract the installation files from the downloaded compressed files, copy the compressed files into a temporary directory and use an extraction tool to extract them.

Procedure

To extract and verify electronic images:

  1. Prepare to extract the files:
    1. Confirm that your system meets the requirements that are described in the system requirements document: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27022224.
    2. Confirm that the directory that is pointed to by your environment variable TEMP has free space that is at least two times the size of the installation program.
    3. Confirm that your user ID meets the required access privileges for installing the product. See http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27022224.
    4. If you need to download the software, see http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24032078.
Note: To download IBM® InfoSphere® Optim™ pureQuery Runtime for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Version 3.1.1, you must log into IBM Passport Advantage®.
  2. Extract the contents of all of the compressed files into a temporary directory. Ensure that you preserve the directory structure of the compressed files when you extract them.
  3. Compare the published MD5 values with the checksum of the downloaded files to check if the downloaded files are corrupt or incomplete.

Results

When you are finished extracting all of the compressed files, the directory where you extracted the contents will have subdirectories with the following names.

For version 3.1.1:
  • \AIX\IBM_OPQRT_V3_1_1_AIX.bin
