Defining startup and shutdown commands

Rational ProjectConsole Designer Help

You can define startup and shutdown commands for a scheduled task. These commands can be Windows commands, such as a Windows .bat file, that can be executed in the context of a Rational ProjectConsole collector.

Note: If a .bat file is stored in the following directory:

...\Program Files\Rational\ProjectConsole\bin

you can reference it using just its file name. However, if a .bat file is stored in another location, you must specify its full path.

If you have created a data transformation that you want to use on data collected during a task run, you can specify the data transformation as a startup or shutdown command.

For information about data transformations and how to create them, see Creating data transformations.

To define startup and shutdown commands for a scheduled task:

  1. On the Parameters page on the Task window, type the startup and shutdown commands.
  2. To save the startup and shutdown commands for the scheduled task, on the Designer File menu, click Save.

For more information about defining startup and shutdown commands, see Parameters page, Task window.
