Use this window to edit a template record listed on the Source Fields page of a text Source Template window.
The
Edit Record window contains the following controls:
- Record Name pane: Displays the name assigned to the record. You cannot change this name.
- Global check box: Select to set the global flag
identifier for the record to true. After you do this, the record type values
will be applied to every measure collected. The default setting of the global
flag identifier is false.
Select this check box for records that do not
repeat but contain source fields that are to be used in processing each measure.
For example, if a text file contains a line that indicates which build is
being tested, you can create a record for it that defines a build source field.
In this case, you select the Global check box. During
data collection, the value of the build source field is inserted with every
measure added to the warehouse.
- Lines pane: Displays the line of text selected for this record. If you
want to select a different line of text, you must delete this record and add
a new record. You cannot change a selected line of text. To change it, you
must create a new record.
- Delimiter: Displays the delimiter selected for this record. If you want
to change the delimiter, you must delete this record and add a new record.
Note: You
cannot change the delimiter selected for this record. To use a different delimiter,
you must create a new record.
- Tokens: Lists all the tokens from the selected line of text, and indicates
the tokens that are defined as keywords or source fields. If a token is defined
as a source field, the source field name is displayed.
You can mark a
token as a keyword by selecting its check box in the Keyword column.
You
can mark a token as a source field by selecting its check box in the Source
field column. After you select a token as a source field, type
a name for it in the Field name column. Note that
you can associate a source field with one or more tokens.
To delete
a keyword or a source field, clear its corresponding check box.
