Adding a record from a source text file

To add a record from a source text file:

  1. In the Record Name field, select the default record name, and then type a descriptive name for the record you are adding.
  2. To set the global flag identifier for the record to true, select the Global check box.

    The Lines list displays all of the lines of text in the source text file for which the record type is undefined. Lines that are already associated with a record are not listed.

  3. To select a line of text to associate with your new record, in the Lines list, double-click it.

    The Delimiter list shows all of the tokens from the selected line of text.

  4. In the Delimiter list, select the delimiter you want to use to divide the line into tokens.

    The Tokens table lists all of the tokens from the selected line of text.

  5. To mark a token as a keyword, in the Keyword column, select its check box.
  6. To mark a token as a source field, in the Source field column, select its check box.
  7. If you select a token as a source field, in the Field name column, type a name for the source field.
    Note: You can associate a source field with one or more tokens.
  8. After you specify the keyword and source field information for the tokens in the record, click OK.
