Rational ProjectConsole Designer Help
Use
this window to select the artifacts that you want to extract from the source
and load into the Rational ProjectConsole repository.

Specify the
source fields from which to collect data.
Select artifact attributes.
The
Source Items and Selected Items panes display three icon types, which are
associated with three artifact types:
- A pink box indicates the artifact is an attribute, such as Name or ID,
which can be directly collected.
- A blue box indicates the artifact is a reference to a one-to-many relationship
(for each project, there are potentially many requirements or documents) and
that this information cannot be collected directly by just selecting this
artifact.
- An artifact tree icon indicates the artifact is a reference to a one-to-one
relationship (a requirement has a single author, but the author relationship
may have many attributes, such as a name, an e-mail address, or a phone number).
Expanding the artifact tree icon opens a list of available attributes
for the object.
- Source Items: Expand the root artifact to list all the artifacts.
To select an artifact, double-click its name, or click its name and
then click >>.
The selected artifact is
added to the Selected Items list.
- Selected Items: Lists the artifacts you selected in the Source
Items list.
To remove an artifact from the list, select its name, and then click <<.
Later,
when you use the domain source template to run a collection task, Rational ProjectConsole extracts
data from the items in the Selected Items list and
stores them in the warehouse database.
- After you select all the artifacts to collect, click OK.
To open the Browse Source window:
- On the Source Fields page of the domain source template window, click Browse.
Note: The Browse button is only available
after you specify all of the required source information, including required
values in the Parameters table.
