Adding an Existing Project to a ClearCase View

If you want to add an existing Microsoft® Visual Studio project to Rational® ClearCase® source control, you must first move it to a ClearCase view directory.

  1. Using Windows® Explorer or another file browser, locate the Visual Studio solution that you want to put under ClearCase source control.
  2. Move the entire directory that contains the Visual Studio solution to the ClearCase view that you want to use.
  3. In Visual Studio, click ClearCase > Front Desk. The added project appears in the list of projects of the target view.
  4. Right-click the project and click Open.
The solution is loaded in the Solution Explorer. The Visual Studio project elements are view-private files until you add the solution to source control.
You can now add the solution to source control by right-clicking the solution in the Solution Explorer and clicking Add Solution to Rational ClearCase.
