Adding an Existing Solution to Source Control

You can issue a single command to bind all open projects at the solution level to ClearCase® source control. Visual Studio then uses Rational® ClearCase as the source control provider for your solution and enables ClearCase commands and certain GUI features (such as automatic checkout on edit).

To add a solution and its projects to source control:
  1. Open the solution in the Solution Explorer.
  2. Right-click the solution node then click Add Solution to Rational ClearCase.
  3. If the Check Out for Edit window opens, confirm the checkout.
Note: If you add your project to Rational ClearCase outside Visual Studio (for example, in the Rational ClearCase Explorer), Visual Studio does not recognize the association. To correct this condition, you must change the source control provider or binding.
