The following table records the chronology of new I/O microcode releases to the Microcode Updates and Discovery Tool CD-ROMs. The table provides information for each PTF release.

Each PTF delivers the CD-ROM image(s), which contain the Microcode Update Files and Discovery Tool that complement the Microcode Update Application for AIX 5L V5.1 and V5.2 and the UNIX Servers Microcode Updates web site. The Microcode Update Files and Discovery Tool provides simple steps to analyze the system and acquire and install microcode, without being Internet-connected and without the assistance of IBM Service. The Discovery Tool image supports "secure" accounts that do not have access to the Internet and systems without a diskette drive. It also enables efficient microcode-level surveying for new code.

You can download the microcode CD-ROM image(s) or place a request for CD-ROM shipment. The CD-ROM updates are available as downloadable image(s) several days before they are available to be shipped on physical media. If you order a CD-ROM during this period you will receive the older PTF. When placing the order, you will be told which PTF level will be shipped.
