A hearing notice is automatically generated each time a home, telephone, or location hearing for a hearing case is scheduled or rescheduled.
The following information is included on the hearing notice for hearing cases for home, telephone, and location hearings:
- Correspondence Recipient Details
- The correspondence recipient's name and address are
displayed.
- Hearing Appeal Details
- The following hearing appeal details are displayed: the
hearing reference number, the requested hearing date, the
scheduled hearing date, the scheduled hearing time, the hearing
address (home or organization location address), the hearing
case number, and appeal issue(s) to be addressed at the hearing.
Note that appeal issues refer to program applications, product
delivery cases and issue cases under appeal. Note also that no
address is displayed for telephone hearings. The correspondence
displays aid status regarding the appellant's continued benefits
provided this is the only appealed item on the hearing appeal.
However, If there is more than one appealed item associated with
the appeal, the hearing notice will not contain aid status
information regarding the appellant's continued benefits.
- Instructions
- The following hearing instructions are displayed. For home
and location hearings, all parties are instructed to be present
at the hearing address. For telephone hearings, the
correspondent is instructed to contact the organization to
provide the telephone number. If a party cannot attend, the
party must request an adjournment.
- Contact Information for Continuance
- Contact information for continuing the hearing is
displayed including the organization name and
organization.
- Correspondence Deadline for Hearing Absence
- If the appellant and/or representative are late or absent
from the hearing, there is a set deadline for requesting a
hearing restoration. This deadline is displayed. This deadline
only applies to home, phone, and location hearings.
- Hearing Statement Deadline
- The final date for submitting a hearing statement is
displayed.
- Information for Canceling Appeal Request
- For the appellant, information for canceling the appeal
request is displayed. The appellant signs and dates the
correspondence and mails the cancellation request to the
organization name and address displayed.
