Deadline for Sending Correspondence

The appeal case correspondence deadline determines whether or not there is a sufficient amount of time before a scheduled hearing to send correspondence. This deadline is defined by a time constraint that indicates the minimum length of time before the scheduled hearing date required to send out correspondence. To determine the correspondence deadline, the system calculates the period of time between the current date on the system and the scheduled hearing date. The system then subtracts the value of the time constraint from the time period. If this calculation is greater than or equal to zero, the correspondence is sent.
