A hearing appeal type is moved through its lifecycle by users with certain privileges. There are seven user roles a user can be assigned to: the hearing case owner role, the hearing case supervisor role, the hearing scheduler role, the hearing worker role, the case owner role, the hearing official role and the senior hearing official role. Each role defines the nature of the user's involvement in the hearing case.
