Introduction

Some services offered by an organization require clients to be placed in a facility such as a foster care home, homeless shelter or detention center. The recording of this information is required in order to track the client's whereabouts, or in some cases to be used as a basis for making payments to providers.

The facility and placement management functionality in CPM allows the organization to:

• Record the provider's capacity and track place availability on an ongoing basis
• Define the facility layout
• Configure compartment characteristics
• Manage placements and reservations, including client transfers
• Place clients in emergency situations

These concepts will be described in detail in this chapter.
