New batch processes can be added to the application. Before the batch process can be utilized at runtime, the related process operation in the application model is made available as a batch process during development. This is done by assigning a batch stereotype to the process. When the model is generated, an SQL executable for the batch process is created. This executable can then be added to the application by a system administrator. A batch executable can be associated with a single batch process only. The system administrator selects the required batch process from the list of available batch processes. A name and description should be added, and the type specified. Batch processes can be of a reporting batch type or an archiving batch type. The batch process type relates to a coded description of the batch process, which is used to group similar batches processes.
