Reopening a Program

A program that has been denied or withdrawn from an application case can be reopened because the organization made an error, a client presents with necessary information after denial, an appeal decision has been made to reopen the program, or for some other reason.

The organization can configure whether the worker has the ability to reopen a program. There are also configuration options available to dictate the behavior of the timer associated with the program when it is reopened, and to specify a workflow, if one is required. If configured, the worker has the option to reopen a program with a status of 'Denied' or 'Withdrawn' on an application case. The worker must provide a reopen date, reason, and any additional comments when reopening a program.

When the program on the application case is reopened, the program reverts to a state of Pending. If the application case was in a status of 'Closed', it reverts to a status of 'Open'. If the program has a timer associated with it, the timer is resumed from either the reopen date, or the date on which the program was denied/withdrawn, depending on the configuration settings for the organization. If a program reopened workflow is configured, it is invoked at this point also.
