Netcool Active Event List Login

The first time during this Tivoli Enterprise Portal session that you add a new Active Event List view to a workspace or open a workspace that contains this view, the Netcool Active Event List Login window opens for you to enter the server information and user ID. After logging on, you will stay logged on until you log out or end your Tivoli Enterprise Portal work session.

Host Name is the host name of the OMNIbus server to connect to.

Port is 8080 for the Netcool server. Use another port number only if specified by your Netcool administrator..

User Name is your user ID as registered on the OMINIbus server.

Password is the password associated with your user ID on the OMNIbus server.

Use Tivoli Enterprise Portal credentials, when selected automatically fills the previous two fields with the user ID and password you used to log on to the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server.

After you click OK, your user ID is sent to the managed host for authentication. When the login is successful, you can open other workspaces and add other Active Event List views without having to log in to the console again during this portal work session.

If login is unsuccessful, you might receive one of these messages:

Permission Error - please verify that a valid username and password were provided. Your connection request was received by the OMNIbus server, but there was a problem with your user ID. Re-enter your user ID to correct any errors. If the error persists, contact your administrator.

Connection Error - please verify that a valid hostname and port were provided. A connection to the specified host and port could not be established. Re-enter the host name and port number to correct any errors. If the error persists, contact your administrator.

You have exceeded the maximum number of login attempts.\nLogin failed. You have entered your user ID and failed to authenticate to the server after three attempts.

Unable to retrieve data source or entities. The data source and entity information cannot be received from the server. This could happen if the proper patch level is not applied to the OMNIbus server.
