XML Data Handler backward compatibility of new line characters.
A previous version of XML Data Handler used "\r\n" characters as new line characters after XML Version and DOCTYPE tags of an XML document on all platforms. This problem was fixed in a later release so that the XML Data Handler started using the Java System Property line.separator. Some applications that depend on the length (in bytes) of the XML message created by the older version of XML Data Handler face a problem as the length in bytes of new messages on Unix Platforms was one character less. To enable the XML Data Handler to always use "\r\n" as new line characters after XML Version and DOCTYPE element tags, a new command line property useOldNewLineInXML is added. This value needs to be set in the connector startup script that uses the XML Data Handler.
e.g. java -DuseOldNewLineInXML="true"
When this value is set to true, the XML Data Handler will use "\r\n" in XML HEADERS (after XML version and DOCTYPE close tags) When this value is set to false, the XML Data Handler will use the new line characters returned by Java System property "line.separator" (after XML version and DOCTYPE close tags) If no value is specified in the connector startup script, the XML data handler will default to value false for this new property and the data handler will use the new line characters returned by Java System Property "line.sperator".
