This is a test fix for WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced Version 6.0.1. This fix corrects a defect degrading performance when publishing a model containing expressions, but risks causing instability in other parts of the product. In a product installation modified by this fix, only the specific function addressed by the fix is supported by IBM. Support may not be available for any other issues encountered after applying this fix. The fix has undergone only informal unit and incomplete integration testing. It is only intended to be applied to an installation of WebSphere Business Modeler Advanced Version 6.0.1 or later.

What is a test fix? It is an uncertified temporary fix used to validate the suitability of the fix in a customer environment. This fix has the following characteristics:

Installing the test fix

The following information describes how to apply this test fix to your WebSphere Business Modeler installation.

To install the test fix, complete the following steps:

  1. Download the 6.0.1-WB-ModelerAdvModelerBas-TF0000002.zip file.
  2. Double-click the downloaded 6.0-WB-ModelerBasModelerAdv-TF0000001.zip file, and extract the files to the root of the directory where you installed WebSphere Business Modeler.
  3. Navigate to the 6.0.1-WB-ModelerAdvModelerBas-TF0000002\bin directory within your WebSphere Business Modeler installation directory.
  4. Double-click the 6.0.1-WB-ModelerAdv-TF0000002.zip file, and extract the files into a temporary directory.  The rest of these instructions assume that the files have been extracted to C:\temp\.
  5. Start WebSphere Business Modeler.
  6. Click Help > Software Updates > Find and Install. The Install/Update wizard opens.
  7. Select Search for new features to install and click Next.
  8. On the Update sites to visit page, click New Local Site. The Browse for folder window opens.
  9. In the Browse for folder window, navigate to C:\temp\6.0.1-WB-ModelerAdv-TF0000002.zip and click OK. You return to the wizard, and the site that you specified is included in the Sites to include in search list.
  10. Select the site that you have just added and click Next.
  11. On the Search Results page, click Select All.
  12. Click Next.
  13. On the Feature License page, read the license agreement for the feature you are installing. When are you are finished, accept the agreement by clicking I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
  14. Click Finish on the Install Location page.
  15. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. During the installation, you must confirm that you want to install an unsigned feature.
  16. When you are asked if you want to restart the workbench, click Yes.

The test fix is now installed.

Uninstalling the test fix

The following information describes how to remove this test fix from your WebSphere Business Modeler installation. To summarize, this feature will be uninstalled using the Manage configuration facility. To clean up the installation the uninstall.bat provided with this test fix will need to executed. As well, the last interim fix applied or the newest available one should be re-installed.

To remove the test fix, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Manage configuration facility, via Help > Software Updates > Manage configuration...
  2. Navigate to the test fix item in the left hand navigation tree, and select it.
  3. Select the Uinstall link in the right hand content page.
  4. After uninstall is complete, do not restart. Select No on the restart confirmation dialog, then close the Manage configuration window and then close Modeler.
  5. Navigate to the 6.0.1-WB-ModelerAdvModelerBas-TF0000002 directory within your WebSphere Business Modeler installation directory.
  6. Double-click the uninstall.bat file to execute it.
  7. Respond to the prompts presented in the command prompt window
  8. Start WebSphere Business Modeler and apply the last interim fix installed or apply the newest one available, according to instructions supplied with the interim fix.

The test fix is now uninstalled
