Use this page to specify the number of cluster members
and the initial port from each node to assign to specific deployment
environment functions.
The table displays the nodes you included in the deployment environment
and allows you to specify the layout of cluster members within the
deployment environment.
If you do not want a node to include a specific cluster function,
you can set the value for that function to zero 0.
However, the default value is 1.
Each deployment environment pattern defines clusters types that
provide specific functions in the environment. Based on the pattern,
you define the following functions:
- Application Deployment Target
- Consists of a cluster to which user applications need to be deployed.
Depending on the chosen deployment environment pattern, the application
deployment target cluster may also assume the functionality of the
messaging and the supporting infrastructure clusters.
- Messaging Infrastructure
- Consists of a cluster where the bus members are located.
- Supporting Infrastructure
- Consists of a cluster that hosts the Common Event Infrastructure
server and other infrastructure services that are used to manage your
system.
- Web Applications
- Consists of a cluster that hosts the web-based components of the
deployment environment.
Examples of web-based components
include Business Process Choreographer Explorer, Business Process
Rules Manager and Business Space.
The Web Applications cluster
is used in the Remote messaging, support, and web pattern.
The Remote messaging, support, and web pattern is the default
pattern for an IBM Business Monitor installation and for an IBM Business
Monitor + IBM Business Process Manager installation.
- Specify the port number for the first cluster group (Optional)
- Consists of the initial port number to be used for assigning cluster
ports. The initial port specified would be assigned to the first cluster
member of the first cluster group. Subsequent cluster groups would
be assigned ports after increasing the port value by 20. For example,
if the port number for the first cluster group is 2000, the port numbers
of the cluster members would be 2000, 2001, 2002, and so on. The port
number of the second cluster group would be 2020 and the port numbers
for the members of the second cluster group would be 2020, 2021, 2022,
and so on. The port number of the third cluster group would be 2040.
Substeps for customizing the cluster name and cluster member name
of each cluster type display on separate pages.
