This README file provides instructions for applying the APAR on WebSphere Commerce 5.5.0.2 fix pack.
Terminology used in this book
cell_name
This variable represents the name of the WebSphere Application Server cell.
host_name
The fully qualified host name of your WebSphere Commerce machine. For example,
server.mydomain.ibm.com is fully qualified.
instance_name
The name of a previously-created WebSphere Commerce instance.
pay_instance_name
The name of a previously-created WebSphere Commerce payments instance.
installer_dir
The temporary directory to which the UpdateInstaller installation tool has been extracted.
APARfix_dir
The temporary directory to which the files for the APAR fix have been extracted.
Path variables
HttpServer_installdir
The installation path for the IBM HTTP Server. The default installation directory
is:
/opt/IBMHttpServer
WC_installdir
The installation path for WebSphere Commerce 5.5. The default installation directory
is:
/opt/WebSphere/CommerceServer55

This README file describes the product changes found in the JR19116_LINUX fix.
APAR JR19116_LINUX is to fix a virtual host defect that occurs in multiple-instance configurations
Ensure that you have installed the WebSphere Commerce 5.5.0.2 fix
pack before applying this fix. This fix is not applicable to any other fix pack versions.
This fix does not require upgrades to additional supported software.
- The UpdateInstaller installation tool is required to install this APAR fix.
If you do not already have the UpdateInstaller, it is available as part of the fixpack 2 bundle. Please download the WebSphere Commerce 5.5.0.2 fix pack from the
WebSphere Commerce Support site and extract/unzip it into a
temporary directory. This temporary directory will be denoted by: installer_dir
in the remaining sections of this guide.
- Download the JR19116_LINUX.jar fix from the WebSphere Commerce Support site
and extract the files into a temporary directory. This temporary directory
will be denoted by: APARfix_dir in the remaining sections of this
guide.
- Ensure that you are logged in as the root user in Linux.
- Stop the following:
- Web server and its respective administration processes,
- WebSphere Commerce Application Servers. For example, WC_instance_name.
- WebSphere Commerce Configuration Manager server.
For instructions on how to stop and start services, refer to the IBM
WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 Installation Guide.
- Using the command line, navigate to installer_dir and type the following
command: updateWizard.sh
- Click OK for English.
- Click Next to continue.
- Click Next to accept the WebSphere Commerce product found on your
computer.
- Select Install fixes. Click Next.
- Click Browse. Navigate to the APARfix_dir directory. Click on wc
once to select the wc folder, then click Open. Click Next.
- Click Next to accept the fix found.
- Click Next to begin installing.
- Ensure that the installer displays the message The following fix was
successfully installed. If you do not get this message the installer will
indicate which log files to check. Click Finish.
- The installation is complete.

- Using the command line, navigate to installer_dir.
- Type following, replacing where appropriate, options specific to your
WebSphere Commerce installation.
./updateSilent.sh fix install WC_installDir JR19116 APARfix_dir/wc
Please note the /wc appended to APARfix_dir.
- Press Enter.
- Ensure that the installer displays the message Fix installation
completed successfully. If you do not get this message the installer will
indicate the log files to check.
- Installation is complete.
- Start up WebSphere Application Server, server1. For starting up WebSphere Application Server please refer to IBM WebSphere Commerce Version 5.5 Installation Guide.
- Launch WebSphere Application Server adminconsole. The adminconsole default URL is http://host_name:9090/admin.
- Enter your user ID to log in.
- In the left window pane, expand Environment.
- Under Environment, click Virtual Hosts.
- In the right window pane, under the heading Name, click default_host.
- Under Additional Properties click Host Aliases.
- Note: Do not remove the * entry for port 80.
Under Host Name, if there any entries for port 80 with a host name and/or fully qualified host name select those and click delete.
- Save your configuration changes.
- In the left window pane, expand Environment.
- Click Update Web Server Plugin.
- In the right window click the OK button to update the plugin configuration file.
- Restart the WebServer, the Websphere Application Server, and Websphere Commerce instances
- The UpdateInstaller installation tool is required to uninstall an APAR fix.

WebSphere Commerce Support site and extract/unzip it into a
