This process differs from Create expected inventory record and Manage expected inventory records, in that it operates in batch mode, where input is a list of inventory items that will be updated or created.

Expected inventory allows the tracking of inventory that has been ordered as well as what has and has not arrived. Expected inventory is used in the calculation of expected ship dates and can be used for tracking costs of goods sold as well as in the calculation of when goods should be reordered.
