To configure WebSphere Commerce to use a Directory Server, use the Member Subsystem page of the Configuration Manager. Complete the fields as follows:
- Authentication mode
- Select the authentication mode as follows:
- Member Manager
- Select this mode if you want to use WebSphere Member Manager and LDAP to authenticate WebSphere Commerce users.
- Database
- Select this mode if you want to use the WebSphere Commerce database to authenticate WebSphere Commerce users.
- Other
- Select this mode if you have implement an alternate mode of authentication.
If you select Member Manager, the rest of the fields on this page will be enabled.
- Single Sign-on
- Select this check box to allow users who have already been authenticated by WebSphere Application Server to be recognized by WebSphere Commerce.
- Entry File Name
- The entry file used for LDAP server initialization.
- Remote Member Manager Server
- Select this check box if WebSphere Member Manager runs on a machine remote to the WebSphere Commerce machine.
Depending on the state of this check box, different fields are displayed.
If this check box is cleared (You are using a local WebSphere Member Manager), the following fields display:
- LDAP Type
- Select the LDAP server you plan to use with WebSphere Commerce.
- Host
- The fully qualified host name specifying where the LDAP server is installed.
- Port
- The port used by the LDAP server. The default port is 389.
- Administrator Distinguished Name
- The distinguished name of the LDAP server administrator.
- Administrator Password
- The LDAP server administrator's password.
- Confirm Password
- Re-enter the LDAP server administrator's password.
If this check box is selected (You are using a remote WebSphere Member Manager), the following fields display:
- Member Manager Provider URL
- This is the URL
- Member Manager JNDI Name
- This is the JNDI Name of the WebSphere Memeber Manager you are using.
