The Web Server page of the Configuration Manager is used to configure WebSphere Commerce Payments to use your Web server. Complete the fields as follows:
- Use Remote WebServer
Select this check box if you want the Configuration Manager to configure a remote Web server. This option should be selected only if you have installed your Web server on a machine other than your WebSphere Commerce Payments server, and you are following the installation path outlined in the WebSphere Commerce Installation Guide for your platform.
If you choose to use a remote Web server, you are presented with the option to configure your remote Web server through File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or Network Filesystem (NFS). Check boxes are displayed for you to select Remote Configuration (the FTP option), or Mapped Network Drive Configuration (the NFS option).
FTP and NFS are not supported to configure a remote Web server.
- Hostname
- Type the fully qualified host name of the Web server or Web server instance that WebSphere Commerce Payments will use (hostname.domain is fully qualified). If you are using a remote Web server this will be different than the hostname of the WebSphere Commerce Payments machine.
The default is the fully qualified host name of the machine where your Web server is installed.
- Web Server Type
- From the list, select the Web server type to be used. The default is the IBM HTTP Server. If "Manual Configuration" is selected, all entry fields on the panel are hidden and no Web server configuration is performed.
The only supported Web server type is IBM HTTP Server (powered by Apache).
- Server Port
- Enter the port number on which your Web server is running. The default value is 5432.
- Non-secure Server Config File Path
If you selected SunONE as the Web server type, enter the full path name (including the file name) to the obj.conf file for your non-secure Web server.
For example, Sunweb_installdir/https-hostname/config/hostname5432-CLASS.obj.conf.
- Use SSL
- Select this check box to specify that a Secure Sockets Layer connection should be used to connect to WebSphere Commerce Payments. The default is to use SSL.
- SSL Port
- Enter the HTTP SSL server port number used to connect to WebSphere Commerce Payments. If you have selected Use SSL, the default value is 5433.
- Secure Server Config File Path
If you selected SunONE as the Web server type, enter the full path name (including the file name) to the obj.conf file for your secure Web server.
For example, Sunweb_installdir/https-hostname/config/hostname5433-CLASS.obj.conf.
- Remote Server Install Path
Enter the full path name of the directory where the remote Web server is installed.
This option is not supported. The remote Web server is automatically installed in the directory /www/webserver_instance_name/. If this directory does not exist, it is created.
- Remote Configuration
This check box is displayed if you select Use Remote WebServer. Select this check box if the remote Web server is running on a UNIX or Linux system. This setting along with the remote user name and remote configuration information is used when sending files from the WebSphere Commerce node to the Web server node using FTP. Selecting Remote Configuration clears Mapped Network Drive Configuration.
This option is not supported.
- Mapped Network Drive Configuration
This check box is displayed if you select Use Remote WebServer. Select this check box to specify that the remote Web server is to be found through a mapped network drive. Selecting Mapped Network Drive Configuration clears Remote Configuration. Selecting this check box may display the following fields, depending on the Web server type chosen:
- Mapped Server Directory
- Enter the full path of the mapped directory where the Web server is installed. Include the mapped drive letter in the path.
This option is not supported.
- Generate properties file only
- This check box does nothing. Do not select this check box.
The following fields display if you select the Use Remote WebServer check box with the Remote Configuration option:

This option is not supported. The remote Web server is configured to use the value that is entered in the Server Port field.
