Procedure
The Web applet installation can be interactive or non-interactive. Refer to the one of the following sections depending on the type of Web applet installation you want to prepare.
Preparing the interactive Web applet installer
To preparing an interactive Web applet installation, do the following on the Web server machine:
- Copy the contents of the applet directory from the IBM Multichannel Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce CD to a directory under the Web server root directory.
- If necessary, configure the Web server to serve this new directory.
Users can now perform an interactive installation through a Web browser by using a URL that points to a setup page in the directory on the Web server to which you copied the applet directory from the IBM Multichannel Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce CD.
The setup page that the URL points to depends on the language in which you want to perform the install. The following table lists the setup pages available by language.
Language | Setup page |
---|---|
Brazilian Portuguese | setup_pt_BR.htm |
English | setup.htm |
German | setup_de.htm |
French | setup_fr.htm |
Italian | setup_it.htm |
Japanese | setup_ja.htm |
Korean | setup_ko.htm |
Spanish | setup_es.htm |
Simplified Chinese | setup_zh.htm |
Traditional Chinese | setup_zh_TW.htm |
For example, if C:\wwwroot is the root of your Web server and you copy the files to C:\wwwroot\salescenter, users would use the following URL to start an interactive installation in English:
http://http_server_host_name/salescenter/setup.htm
If your Web server is SSL-enabled, you can also have your users use a secure (https) URL. For example:
https://http_server_host_name/salescenter/setup.htm
Preparing the non-interactive Web applet installer
