The category tree for a catalog displays the top categories and subcategories. Using the sales catalog tooling, you can access two different category trees at once. The target catalog is the sales catalog which you are currently working on. The source catalog represents the catalog from which you base the sales catalog.
Use this tree to view the category tree for the sales catalog, or target, and details about the categories. The root of the catalog tree displays the catalog code of the sales catalog catalog. Following the code are the top categories, or catalog groups, and subcategories in the catalog.
- New Category
- Click this button to add a category.
- Change Category
- Click this button to edit details about a category, including general information and image location.
- Category Tree
- Click this button to select and display a source catalog tree.
- Find Categories
- Click this button to launch the category search dialog.
- Change Parent Category
- Click this button to change the parent category of a selected category.
- Remove Category
- Click this button to remove a category from the sales catalog. The category is not deleted from the WebSphere Commerce system if it has more than one parent categories.
- Edit Catalog Entries
- Click this button to edit details about the catalog entries in a category.
- List Subcategories
- Click this button to list all immediate subcategories for the selected category. Note that you must select a category from the tree before you can use this button.
- Display Linked Source Category Tree
- Click this button to display the source catalog of a linked (
) category. When the linked category is displayed, the Return to Target Category Tree button is available to return to the original target category tree view.
