Hosting starter stores

The hosting sample includes the Commerce Hosting Hub site, the store directory, a sample catalog, and the assets required to make a store.

The Commerce Hosting Hub serves as the channel where potential merchants can register at the site and apply for the hosting service. Once merchants have been approved they can create and manage their hosted stores.

The store directory allows customers to view all stores hosted on the Commerce Hosting Hub. Customers can locate stores based on the store category, or based on products sold by the stores. To purchase a product of interest the customer is redirected to the appropriate hosted store.

The hosted storefront asset is the sample template presentation and shopping flow that hosted stores could use. This store is the basis for all the hosted stores on the site that choose to use this presentation asset. The merchant can change the look and feel of the store to make it distinct from other hosted stores on the site. The merchant may also change the shopping experience by enabling or disabling features, such as auctions or customer care, in the hosted store.

The hosted sample is only available with WebSphere Commerce Business Edition.
