Changing the product image

To change the product image or the location of the image:

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
  2. Business to consumer From the Merchandise menu, click Find Catalog Entries.
    Business to business From the Products menu, click Find Catalog Entries.
    The Catalog Entry Search page displays. If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.
  3. Find the product you want to change.
  4. Use one of the following methods to change the product image or location:
    1. Change Product notebook:
      1. Select a field in the product row that you want to change, and from the Actions menu, click Change Product. The Change Product notebook opens.
      2. From the left navigation frame, click Images. The Images page displays. You can change the full and thumbnail size product images. Typethe changed image paths and file names relative to the store's root directory. Image files should be placed in the store's defined image directory. For example, the ConsumerDirect starter store would use the following paths:
        • WebSphere Commerce development environment Product images are stored in WCDE_installdir\workspace\Stores\Web Content\ConsumerDirect\images\catalog.
          To change the full size image, in the Full size image file and location field, type \images\catalog\leathercoat_full.gif.
          To change the thumbnail image, in the Thumbnail size image file and location field, type \images\catalog\leathercoat_tn.gif.
        • Windows Product images are stored in WC_installdir\installedApps\hostname\Stores.war\ConsumerDirect\images\catalog.
          To change the full size image, in the Full size image file and location field, type \images\catalog\leathercoat_full.gif.
          To change the thumbnail image, in the Thumbnail size image file and location field, type \images\catalog\leathercoat_tn.gif.
        • AIXi5/OSiSeriesLinuxSun Solaris Operating Environment Product images are stored in WC_installdir/installedApps/hostname/Stores.war/ConsumerDirect/images/catalog.
          To change the full size image, in the Full size image file and location field, type /images/catalog/leathercoat_full.gif.
          To change the thumbnail image, in the Thumbnail size image file and location field, type /images/catalog/leathercoat_tn.gif.
      3. Click OK to save the changes and close the notebook.
    2. Product Management dynamic table:
      1. Click the Images tab. You can change the full and thumbnail size product images. Typethe changed image paths and file names relative to the store's root directory. Image files should be placed in the store's defined image directory. For example, the ConsumerDirect starter store would use the following paths:

          To change the full size image, in the Full size image file and location field, type /images/catalog/leathercoat_full.gif.
          To change the thumbnail image, in the Thumbnail size image file and location field, type /images/catalog/leathercoat_tn.gif.
      2. Click Save.
      3. To view the current images associated with the product, click Show Images from the Edit menu. The images are displayed in the dynamic table.
