Standard orders Selecting another shipping method for an order

Note:Advanced orders You can change an advanced order only by using IBM Multichannel Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce. Refer to the Sales Center information for details.

If the customer did not specify a shipping address or method when the standard order was created, but wants to specify a method now, follow the steps below. For example, for software downloaded from the Internet does not require a shipping method; however, if the customer requests that a CD-ROM be delivered instead, then a shipping method is required.

To select a different shipping method (a combination of the carrier name and a service offered by the shipping company, such as ABC Shipping Company, Overnight Service) for a standard order than the one specified when the order was created:

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
  2. Find the order you want to work with.
  3. Open the Change Order notebook by selecting the check box to the left of the order that you want to work with, and click Change.
  4. When you open the notebook, the Products page is displayed. From the left navigation frame, click Shipping. The Shipping page is displayed, listing all products in the order and the shipping address identifier to indicate the shipping address selected for the order.
  5. Select the check box to the left of the product you want to work with, and click Select Another Method. The Shipping Methods dialog is displayed, listing the methods available for shipping the order.
  6. Select the check box to the left of the shipping method you want to use, and click OK.
  7. To make other changes to this order, use the links on the left side to switch between each order page. To save the changed shipping method and close the notebook, click OK.
