To ensure that DB2 Universal Database is started on Windows:
- Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.
- In the Computer Management console, expand Services and Applications and select Services.
- Ensure that all services that start with "DB2" have a status of Started
The following services are optional if you are using a local database:
- DB2 Governor
- DB2 JDBC Applet Server
- DB2 Security Server
Refer to the DB2 Universal Database documentation for information on when these services should be started.
- If any of these services are not started, right-click the service name and select Start from the pop-up menu to start the service. Ensure that you start the services in the order they are listed above. Starting the services in a different order may prevent DB2 Universal Database from starting correctly.
To ensure that Oracle is started on Windows, follow the instructions in the Oracle documentation.
