Advanced Orders To delete a static kit, follow the same directions as Deleting a bundle or kit.
It is important to note the following points when deleting static kits within static kits. The points are illustrated with examples using the following diagram.
D
- Deleting a kit does not delete the SKUs and kits within the kit. For example, for the static kits in the above diagram, if you delete static kit 1, static kits 2 through 6 and any SKUs within static kit 1 remain available within WebSphere Commerce Accelerator. This is the same behavior as a kit that contains only SKUs. When you delete a kit that contains only SKUs, the SKUs within the kit are not deleted and can still be displayed for purchase in your store. However, after deleting kits that contain kits, the relationships between kits may no longer exist. See the following points below for more information.
- If you delete the top-level kit:
- All relationships between the remaining static kits in the tree are no longer used. For example, if you delete static kit 1, static kits 2 through 6 are no longer related to each other. You cannot sell static kits 2 through 6 as a group by adding a price to static kit 2.
- You can sell the remaining kits individually. For example, you can sell static kit 2. Static kit 2 includes the SKUs in static kit 2, but does not include static kits 3 through 6. If you plan to sell the remaining kits, ensure that they each have a price.
- If you delete a non-top-level kit:
- The relationships between the static kits below the deleted kit are no longer used. For example, if you delete static kit 3, static kits 4, 5, and 6 are no longer part of the static kit tree. You can sell static kits 4, 5, and 6 as individual kits. If you sell static kits as individual kits, ensure they each have a price.
- The relationships between the static kits above the deleted kit are still used. For example, if you delete static kit 3, static kit 1 still contains static kit 2. The price for static kit 1 might have to be adjusted since less SKUs are part of the static kit tree.
