Copying statistical data from the production server

To copy Marketing Event statistical data from a production machine to a development or staging server:

  1. From a command line, change to the following directory on the production server:
    AIXi5/OSiSeriesLinuxSun Solaris Operating EnvironmentWC_installdir/bin
    WindowsWC_installdir\bin
  2. Run the ExportStats command by entering the following (Note: All of the parameters are mandatory):
    AIX ExportStats -Ddatabase_type -Ndatabase_name -Udatabase_user_id
    -Pdatabase_password -Foutput_file_name-Ttable_name

    -Pdatabase_password -Foutput_file_name -Ttable_name
    Sun Solaris Operating Environment ExportStats -Ddatabase_type -Ndatabase_name -Udatabase_user_id
    -Pdatabase_password -Foutput_file_name -Ttable_name
    Linux ExportStats.sh -Ddatabase_type -Ndatabase_name -Udatabase_user_id
    -Pdatabase_password -Foutput_file_name -Ttable_name
    Windows ExportStats -Ddatabase_type -Ndatabase_name -Udatabase_user_id
    -Pdatabase_password -Foutput_file_name -Ttable_name

    where:

    database_type
    AIXLinuxSun Solaris Operating EnvironmentWindows is the type of database you are using, either DB2 or Oracle.
    i5/OSiSeries is the type of database you are using, DB400.
    AIXLinuxSun Solaris Operating EnvironmentWindows database_name
    The name of the database.
    • DB2 Enter the simple name of the database.
    • Oracle Identify the database using the following format: hostname:port:sid identifying the hostname of the database server, the port number of the server, and the system ID.
    database_user_id
    is the user ID of the database owner.
    i5/OSiSeries This is also known as the instance user profile.
    database_password
    is the password for the database owner ID.
    output_file_name
    is the path and name of the output file with an .xml extension (if no path is specified, the default is the current directory).
    table_name
    is the name of the database table that you want to export.

    This will create an XML file.

  3. Transfer the XML file to the development or staging server.
  4. Place the XML file in the following directory on the development or staging server:
    AIXi5/OSiSeriesLinuxSun Solaris Operating EnvironmentWC_installdir/bin
    WindowsWC_installdir\bin
  5. Run the ImportStats command by entering the following:
    AIX ImportStats -Ddatabase_type -Ndatabase_name -Udatabase_user_id -Pdatabase_password
    -Finput_file_name
    i5/OSiSeriesImportStats.sh -Ddatabase_type -Ndatabase_name -Udatabase_user_id -Pdatabase_password
    -Finput_file_name

    -Finput_file_name where:
    database_type
    AIXSun Solaris Operating EnvironmentLinuxWindows is the type of database you are using, either DB2 or Oracle.
    i5/OSiSeries is the type of database you are using, DB400.
    database_name
    AIXSun Solaris Operating EnvironmentLinuxWindows The name of your database. DB2 users enter the simple name of their database.     This will delete any statistical information in the development or staging server database, and import the statistics.
