The objective of distributing coupons is to attract customers to make purchases in the store by offering various incentives to the right segment of customers at the right time.
A coupon is an incentive offered to a segment of customers within a time interval. The incentive offered by a coupon may be applied to specific products, categories or to the total purchase price.
The coupon may be offered to a customer through the Web through the store front, or it may be offered through e-mail. Regardless how a coupon is obtained, it can be redeemed at checkout time by the customers.
