Important: If you specify a port other than 8001, you must change the port used for context-sensitive help in the WebSphere Commerce tools in Configuration Manager. If the port used for context-sensitive help in the WebSphere Commerce tools does not match the port number on which you started the information center, you will not be able to access context-sensitive help in the WebSphere Commerce tools, such as the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator. You will still be able to access all of the online help in the information center using the information center URL. |
The IBM WC 5.6 Help Server service uses port 8001 and the port cannot be changed. If you want to use a different port for the WebSphere Commerce information center, you must start the information center using the startHelp utility.
The help system starts automatically in the development environment. By default WebSphere Studio Application Developer runs the Help Server on a random port. To enable Help to be accessed from the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, Organization Administration Console, or the Administration Console, you must set the port that the Help Server uses to 8001, by doing the following:
- Select Window > Preferences > Help > Help Server.
- In the Port for the server to listen on field type 8001. Click Apply.
- Restart WebSphere Studio Application Developer.
