Configure WebSphere Commerce Database Access

Use this page to establish a connection between the WebSphere Commerce Analyzer server and the WebSphere Commerce database.

Database type
From the list, select the type of WebSphere Commerce database to which you are connecting, for example DB2 or Oracle.
DB2Database name
Type the name of the WebSphere Commerce database to which you are connecting.
DB2User name
Type the User ID of the WebSphere Commerce database.
DB2Password
Type the password of the WebSphere Commerce database.
DB2Platform
From the list, select the platform on which the WebSphere Commerce database resides.
OracleFederated database name
Type the name of the federated database created to access the WebSphere Commerce database.
OracleFederated database user name
Type the user name of the federated database created to access the WebSphere Commerce database.
OracleFederated database password
Type the password associated with the user name of the federated database created to access the WebSphere Commerce database.
OracleFederated database platform
From the list, select the platform on which the federated database resides.
OracleOracle version
Select the version of Oracle you are using.
Encryption key
Type a 16 digit hexadecimal number that will be used to encrypt the passwords for the WebSphere Commerce database and the WebSphere Commerce Analyzer data mart.
Key file full name
Type the name and location of the file on your local system where the encryption key will be created.
DB2Host name
Type the fully qualified host name of the machine where the WebSphere Commerce database resides.
DB2Port number
Type the port number for the WebSphere Commerce database. By default this is 50000.
OracleOracle database name
Type the name of the Oracle database.
OracleOracle user name
Type the user name of the Oracle user.
OracleOracle password
Type the password associated with the Oracle user name.
OracleOriginal schema
If you selected Oracle as your database type, the Original source field displays. Type the name of the original schema of the Oracle database. This is the value for the variable orauser which is used when running create.federated-db.bat.
Connect
Click Connect to establish the connection between the WebSphere Commerce Analyzer server and the WebSphere Commerce database.
OracleIf the connection is successful, a DB2 Command Line Processor window opens and executes the commands to create nicknames. A message is displayed indicating whether you connected successfully. If no connection is found the Create a connection to the database window opens. Complete the fields for the WebSphere Commerce server and click OK.
Schema
Select the name of the database schema. If you only have one available schema, it will be selected automatically.

Notes:

  1. If after clicking Connect, the Schema list is empty, close the WebSphere Commerce Analyzer Configuration Manager and then delete the contents of the directory \wca\tmp. Open WebSphere Commerce Analyzer Configuration Manager and try again.
  2. If the Schema list is still empty, re-bind the WebSphere Commerce database by running the following command in a command window:

    db2rbind databasename -l outputfilename all -u username -p password

    Click Connect again.
