Description

WebSphere Commerce facilitates targeted marketing by enabling Marketing staff to interact with the site directly, instead of requesting that the Information Technology department make required changes. Marketing Managers create large-scale marketing campaigns that target various customer segments. Campaigns drive site sales, increase revenue, or increase customer awareness.

For the Demand chain - Manufacturer and Supply chain - Marketplace operator business processes, the Marketing Manager may set up campaigns, e-Marketing spots, customer segments, and Web activities for the hosted resellers or suppliers. This allows the Marketing Managers in the respective Demand chain - Reseller and Supply chain - Supplier business processes to leverage these assets and to set up their own campaigns to offer promotions and coupons, suggest products and categories of products, and advertise marketing collateral on their hosted sites.

In addition, the Manufacturer and the Marketplace operator may set up advertising in the respective channel hub and marketplace hub to suggest products and categories of products and advertise marketing collateral in the central site. E-mail may also be employed to send marketing messages to the hub's respective customer base.
