Use this page to add or maintain general information about a product.
- Code
- Type the product code, which uniquely identifies the product within the WebSphere Commerce system. This number will later be used as a prefix to create individual product codes for SKUs. For example, if the product code for a "Ladies' cable-knit sweater" is SKU-12345, then the individual SKU for each attribute would be SKU-12345-1 (Ladies' cable-knit sweater, small, red), SKU-12345-2 (Ladies' cable-knit sweater, medium, red), SKU-12345-3 (Ladies' cable-knit sweater, large, red), and so on.
- Name
- Type the name of the product, such as "Ladies' cable-knit sweater". The product name is language specific; that is, if the product is offered at a French store and a Japanese store, and you want to change its name for both stores, you must type the new name in this field for each store. To work in another language, click the Select
icon, found in the upper left corner. Note that you can switch to a different language only if you are authorized to work with more than one of the WebSphere Commerce supported languages and if the language is available.
