Conventions

Images denote information that is specific to particular operating system, database management system, edition, or business model:

AIX
Indicates information specific to programs running on AIX(R).
iSeries
Indicates information specific to programs running on OS/400(TM) for iSeries(TM).
Linux
Indicates information that is specific to WebSphere(R) Commerce for Linux for xSeries(TM), information that is specific to WebSphere Commerce for Linux for eServer(TM) zSeries(TM), and S/390(TM), information that is specific to WebSphere Commerce for Linux for eServer iSeries, and information that is specific to WebSphere Commerce for Linux for eServer pSeries(TM).
Sun Solaris Operating Environment
Indicates information specific to programs running on Solaris Operating Environment.
Windows
Indicates information specific to programs running on Windows(R) 2000 or Windows Server 2003.
Windows 2000
Indicates information specific to programs running on Windows 2000.
Windows 2003
Indicates information specific to programs running on Windows Server 2003.
Windows XP
Indicates information specific to programs running on Windows XP.
zSeries
Indicates information specific to WebSphere Commerce for Linux with DB2 zSeries for S/390 and z/OS.
Business Edition only
Indicates information that applies only to WebSphere Commerce Business Edition.

Indicates information that applies only to the WebSphere Commerce Professional Edition.

Indicates information that applies only to the WebSphere Commerce Developer Edition.

Cloudscape
Indicates information specific to the IBM(R) Cloudscape(TM) database.
DB2
Indicates information specific to DB2 Universal Database(TM).
Oracle
Indicates information specific to Oracle9i Database.
Business to consumer
Indicates information applicable when a consumer direct store is selected in the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
Business to business
Indicates information applicable when a B2B direct store is selected in the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

Variables

businessmodel
The name of the business model with which you are working (for example, consumer direct or B2B direct, hosting, supply chain, or demand chain).
cell_name
Cells are arbitrary, logical groupings of one or more nodes in a WebSphere Application Server distributed network that are managed together by a WebSphere Network Deployment Manager. In this definition, a node is a single occurrence of WebSphere Application Server and the applications that run inside the occurrence of WebSphere Application Server. This variable represents the name of the WebSphere Application Server cell.
Windowsdrive
The letter representing the drive on which you installed the product or component being discussed (for example, C:).
host_name
This variable represents the fully qualified host name of your WebSphere Commerce Server (for example, wcserver.mydomain.ibm.com is fully qualified).
node_name
This variable represents the short (unqualified) host name of your WebSphere Commerce node (for example, wcserver). A WebSphere Commerce node is a node in your topology that contains the WebSphere Commerce Server.
instance_name
This variable represents the name of the WebSphere Commerce instance with which you are working (for example, mall1).
iSeriesinstance_root
This variable represents WC_userdir/instances/instance_name.
locale
A language and country specific code. By default, WebSphere Commerce supports the following locales:

The name of the directory in which store-specific assets are located, as defined in the DIRECTORY column of the STORE table.
storeId
The store entity ID as defined in the STORE_ID column of the STORE table.
WAS_instance_name
This variable represents the name of the WebSphere Application Server with which your WebSphere Commerce instance is associated.
iSeriesWAS_node_name
Represents the iSeries system where the WebSphere Application Server product is installed.
WCServer_enterprise_archive
This variable represents WC_instance_name.ear. For example, given the instance_namedemo, the value of WCServer_enterprise_archive is WC_demo.ear.

Path variables

HTTPServer_installdir
This is the installation directory for IBM HTTP Server.
The default installation directory for IBM HTTP Server 1.3.26.2 is:
  • AIX /usr/IBMHttpServer
  • Linux /opt/IBMHttpServer
  • Sun Solaris Operating Environment /opt/IBMHttpServer
  • Windows C:\Program Files\WebSphere\IBMHttpServer
The default installation directory for IBM HTTP Server 2.0.47 is:
  • AIX /usr/IBMIHS
  • Linux /opt/IBMIHS
  • Sun Solaris Operating Environment /opt/IBMIHS

IMSC_installdir
The installation directory for the IBM Multichannel Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce. The default installation directory for the Multichannel Sales Center is:

Sunweb_installdir
The installation directory for Sun Java System Web Server. The default installation directory for Sun Java System Web Servers is:
  • AIX /opt/SUNWwbsvr/
  • Sun Solaris Operating Environment /opt/SUNWwbsvr/

WAS_installdir
The following default installation path for WebSphere Application Server:

This is the installation directory for WebSphere Commerce Analyzer. The default installation directory for WebSphere Commerce Analyzer is:

WCDE_installdir
This is the installation directory for the WebSphere Commerce development environment. The default installation directory for the WebSphere Commerce development environment, depends on your edition of WebSphere Commerce Developer:
  • Express Edition only C:\WCToolkitExpress57
  • Professional Edition only C:\WCToolkitPro57
  • Business Edition only C:\WCToolkitBE57
WSAD_installdir
The installation directory for WebSphere Studio Application Developer. The default installation directory for WebSphere Studio Application Developer is C:\WebSphere Studio\Application Developer\V5.1.
iSeriesWC_instance_root
The default path is QIBM/UserData/CommerceServer57/instances/instance_name.
iSeriesWC_userdir
The directory for all the data used by WebSphere Commerce which can be modified or needs to be configured by the user. The default path is /QIBM/UserData/CommerceServer57.
WebSphere Commerce development environmentworkspace_dir
This variable represents the WebSphere Commerce workspace directory, WCDE_installdir\workspace.
