Use the Product Management dynamic table to manage your product information, and view details about your products, including packages and bundles. The dynamic table is divided into the following tabs: Details, Category, Description, Extended Description, Images, and Custom. Click on one of the following links to view the help:
A note on the Product Management dynamic table icons
Each type of catalog entry is depicted by a symbol rather than text. Use the following legend to identify the catalog entry:

SKUs are only available by selecting a catalog entry and from the Actions menu, select Show SKUs. The SKU icon is displayed for your reference.
Details
Use this table to manage your product information, and view details about your products.
- Code
- The product code, which uniquely identifies the product within the WebSphere Commerce system. This number will later be used as a prefix to create individual product codes for SKUs. For example, if the product code for a "Ladies' cable-knit sweater" is SKU-12345, then the individual SKU for each attribute would be SKU-12345-1 (Ladies' cable-knit sweater, small, red), SKU-12345-2 (Ladies' cable-knit sweater, medium, red), SKU-12345-3 (Ladies' cable-knit sweater, large, red), and so on. If you click the linked number, the Change Product notebook opens.
- Name
- Type the name of the product, such as "Ladies' cable-knit sweater". The product name is language specific; that is, if the product is offered at a French store and a Japanese store, and you want to change its name for both stores, you must type the new name in this field for each store. To work in another language, click the Select
icon, found in the upper left corner. Note that you can switch to a different language only if you are authorized to work with more than one of the WebSphere Commerce supported languages and if the language is available.
- Buyable
- Select this box if the product is available for purchase.
- Manufacturer
- Type the name of the product manufacturer or vendor.
- Manufacturer Part Number
- Type the part number for the product, uniquely identified by the product manufacturer. The part number is different from the code.
- Edit
- Click this button to view product images, and find and replace text within the Product Management table. You can also copy the contents of a cell, and paste it to another cell or column.
- Prices
- Click this button to add or change a product's price, and list the pricing summary.
- Actions
- Click this button to create a new product, dynamic kit, prebuilt kit or bundle, change or delete a product, view a product's SKUs, or generate product SKUs.
- Tools
- Click this button to show merchandising associations, defining or descriptive attributes for a product. You can also view the contents of a selected dynamic kit, prebuilt kit, or bundle.
- Search
- Click this button to search for a catalog entry.
- Save
- Click this button to save the product changes for your catalog.

Category
Use this table to view the category for your product.
- Code
- The product code, which uniquely identifies the product within the WebSphere Commerce system. This number will later be used as a prefix to create individual product codes for SKUs. - On Special
- Indicates whether or not the product is on special.
- On Auction
- Indicates whether or not the product is on auction.

- Actions

- Type a brief description of the product, such as "A unisex turtleneck made of merino wool".
- Long Description
- Type a detailed description of the product, such as "A unisex turtleneck made of merino wool. This sweater is available in five colors: black, oatmeal, wine, taupe, and white. This classic look is available in sizes XS to XXL".
- Edit
- Click this button to view product images, and find and replace text within the Product Management table. You can also copy the contents of a cell, and paste it to another cell or column.

The product image is language specific; that is, if the product is offered at a French store and a Japanese store, and you want to change its image or image location for both stores, you must include the new information in the Product Management table page for each store. To work in another language, click the Select icon, found in the upper left corner. Note that you can switch to a different language only if you are authorized to work with more than one of the WebSphere Commerce supported languages and if the language is available.

- Thumbnail
- Type the path to the product thumbnail image and the name of the image. All product image files should be placed in the store's defined image directory.

- Full Image
- Type the path to the product full size image and the name of the image. All product image files should be placed in the store's defined image directory.

\images\leathercoat_full.gif The correct image directory and whether you need an absolute or relative path depends on your store's configuration. Ask a store developer with Site Administrator authority for the correct image directory. For example, the WebSphere Commerce starter store images use a relative path to the default installation path.
- Keyword
- Type a keyword. This keyword will be used when searching for products.
- Edit
- Click this button to view product images, and find and replace text within the Product Management table. You can also copy the contents of a cell, and paste it to another cell or column.
- Actions
