Use this page to add or maintain kit (prebuilt kit and dynamic kit) inventory information for your fulfillment centers. Since a bundle is a collection of SKUs which can be separated, the individual SKUs settings are used for the bundle.
- Track Inventory
- Select this check box to track the products and SKUs in a fulfillment center. For kits and bundles, the individual product and SKU settings are used.
- Allow Back Order
- Select this check box to allow a kit to be backordered, if the customer chooses to accept a backorder. For example, if a customer places an order for a kit which is unavailable, then the kit will be shipped once the inventory is replenished. If this check box is not selected, then a customer cannot order the kit if it is unavailable from the fulfillment center.
- Force Back Order
- Select this check box to temporarily suspend allocation of a kit. When a customer places an order for this kit, the kit is placed on backorder, even if there is inventory available.
- Release Separately
- Select this check box to specify that a kit should be packaged and delivered separately from the other kits within the order. For example, fragile items, such as a set of glasses, should be boxed separately from other merchandise to avoid potential damage to the kit.
- Returnable
- Select this check box to indicate whether or not the fulfillment center should expect a return. For example, intimate apparel articles of clothing or swimwear usually cannot be returned, whereas a shirt would be acceptable.
- Creditable
- Select this check box to indicate that a customer can return a kit for a refund. For example, some refurbished pieces of computer equipment offered through a company's outlet Web site might be marked as "non-creditable", while others can be returned for a refund. Although both types of equipment have gone through the production process and quality testing again, the merchant may decide not to refund certain types of equipment, due to low profit margins or lack of sales.
- Enter the smallest amount that can be measured:
- The smallest amount that can be measured or tracked by the inventory system. Inventory amounts are tracked in integral units. This number, along with the unit of measure you specify, indicates how much each integral unit represents. For example, if the kit is a 2 kilogram bag of potatoes (priced by the kilogram), type 2 to indicate that only whole bags can be reordered. If you need to reorder 25 kilograms of potatoes, the quantity reordered would be rounded up to the next multiple of 2, in this case, 26 kilograms. The kit is reordered in multiples of this quantity. Note: Once you have defined specified SKUs for this kit, you cannot change this amount since it affects the meaning of all amounts of this kit recorded in the database.
- Unit of Measure
- Use this field to select the unit of measure used for the kit. In keeping with the example above, you would select kilogram, as you are pricing the bag of potatoes and bulk sugar per kilogram.
