Changing tax specifications for a product

To change sales or shipping tax specifications for a product:

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
  2. Business to consumer From the Merchandise menu, click Find Catalog Entries.
    Business to business From the Products menu, click Find Catalog Entries.
    The Catalog Entry Search page displays. If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.
  3. Find the product you want to change.
  4. Select a field in the product row that you want to change, and from the Actions menu, click Change Product. The Change Product notebook opens.
  5. To change sales tax for a product, such as "Electronics Sales Tax", from the left navigation frame, click Sales Tax. The Sales Tax page displays. Do the following:
    • To assign a sales tax to the product, select the tax name from the Available taxes list, and click Add.
    • To remove a sales tax assigned to the product, select the tax name from the Selected taxes list, and click Remove.
    • If there are no available taxes, you can create the sales tax from Store Services.
  6. To change shipping tax for a product, such as "Overnight Shipping Tax", from the left navigation frame, click Shipping Tax. The Shipping Tax page displays. Do the following:
    • To assign a shipping tax to the product, select the tax name from the Available taxes list, and click Add.
    • To remove a shipping tax assigned to the product, select the tax name from the Selected taxes list, and click Remove.
  7. To save the changed tax specifications and close the notebook, click OK.

Note: If the changes to the catalog data do not display, the Site Administrator may need to disable caching or remove the currently cached JSP pages.
