Setting up taxes

To set up taxes for each store in WebSphere Commerce Accelerator:

  1. Defining tax jurisdictions.
  2. Defining sales tax codes.
  3. Defining shipping tax codes.
  4. Defining tax categories.
  5. Defining tax category display names.
  6. Defining tax rates.
  7. Assigning categories to codes.

You must restart the WebSphere Commerce server for the changes to take effect.

Note: If you do not select the Set as Default check box in when defining a sales tax code in step 2, you must perform step 7 to assign a tax code to each tax category, which will apply taxes to the items in that category; otherwise, taxes are not applied to an item.
