To hide a category in your catalog so that it does not display to customers, for example, if the category contains out of season merchandise:
- Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
From the Merchandise menu, click Catalog Management.
From the Products menu, click Catalog Management.
A category tree for the master catalog displays. If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.- Open the Change Category notebook by highlighting the category that you want to change, and click Change Category.
- The General page displays. Clear the Display to customers check box.
- Click OK to hide the category and close the notebook.
Notes:
- The status of the Display to customers check box is language specific; that is, if the category is offered at a French store and a Japanese store, and you want to hide the category at both stores, you must clear the Display to customers check box for each store. To work in another language, click the icon, found in the upper left corner.
- You can switch to a different language only if you are authorized to work with more than one of the WebSphere Commerce supported languages and if the language is available.
- If the changes to the catalog data do not display, the Site Administrator may need to remove the currently cached JSP pages.
