Changing the category image

To change the category image or the location of the image:

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
  2. Business to consumer From the Merchandise menu, click Catalog Management.
Business to business From the Products menu, click Catalog Management.
A category tree for the master catalog displays. If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.
  3. Open the Change Category notebook by highlighting the category that you want to change, and click Change Category.
  4. From the left navigation frame, click Images. The Images page displays. All category image files should be placed in the store's defined image directory. Change the category image name or location, as follows:
    • To change the full size or large category image, in the Full size image file and location field, type the path to the image, including the image name:
      • AIXi5/OSiSeriesLinuxSun Solaris Operating Environment/images/summer_full.gif
      • Windows\images\summer_full.gif
      • WebSphere Commerce development environment\images\summer_full.gif
    • To change the thumbnail or small category image, in the Thumbnail image file and location field, type the path to the image, including the image name:
      • i5/OSAIXiSeriesLinuxSun Solaris Operating Environment /images/summer_thumb.gif
      • Windows\images\summer_thumb.gif
      • WebSphere Commerce development environment\images\summer_thumb.gif
    • The correct image directory and whether you need an absolute or relative path depends on your store's configuration. Ask a store developer with Site Administrator authority for the correct image directory. For example, the WebSphere Commerce starter store images use a relative path to the default installation path.
  5. To save the changed image name or location and close the notebook, click OK.

Note: If the changes to the catalog data do not display, the Site Administrator may need to disable caching or remove the currently cached JSP pages.
