Contracts or Accounts - Shipping Charge Type

Use this page to select how shipping charges will be processed for the contract or account. A shipping charge type term may be specified in the base contract, the customer contract, and in the business account. Only one shipping charge type term is used for a contract, based on the following rules:

Selected shipping charge types
Lists the shipping charge types selected for this contract or account. To remove a shipping charge type from the selected list, select the shipping charge type to remove and click Remove. The selected shipping charge type no longer displays in the Selected shipping charge types list.
Available shipping charge types
Lists the available shipping charge types for this contract or account. To select a shipping charge type:
  1. Select the appropriate shipping charge type from the Available shipping charge types list. To select multiple shipping charge types, hold down the Shift key and highlight the items you want.
  2. Click Add. The selected shipping charge types display in the Selected shipping charge types list.

Important!Standard ordersIf your store uses the standard orders function, only one shipping charge type can be used even though you are not prevented from selecting more than one on this page. To avoid having WebSphere Commerce use an incorrect rule assumption about the shipping charge type to apply, select one shipping charge type for stores that use standard order processing. Advanced orders If your store uses the advanced orders function, multiple shipping charge types are supported. Consider setting up a separate contract for the shipping charge types that can be applied to those orders.

If you use the same contract for stores using the standard orders function and advanced orders function, WebSphere Commerce applies the following rules in the sequence shown to select the shipping charge type:

When placing orders through the WebSphere Commerce storefront, B2B customers are responsible for ensuring that they select the appropriate shipping charge type for the shipping method selected for the order or order item. For example, customers should not select a shipping charge type of shipping charged by carrier if they do not have an account with the carrier.
