Product - Units of Measure for Shipping

Use this page to add or maintain different product units of measure for shipping purposes.

Weight
Type the weight associated with the product. For example, if the product weighs 5 pounds, you would type 5.
Weight Measure
Select the unit of measurement for the weight associated with the product. For example, if you are selling books, you would select pound.
Sold in multiples of this amount
The product is sold in multiples of this quantity. For example, if the product is a 2 kilogram bag of potatoes (priced by the kilogram), type 2 to indicate that only whole bags can be purchased. If a customer wants to order 5 kilograms of potatoes, the quantity ordered would be rounded up to the next multiple of 2, in this case, 6 kilograms.
Or if you are selling bulk sugar (again priced by the kilogram), type a smaller quantity, such as .001, to indicate that the quantity ordered should be rounded up only to the nearest gram. Your customers could then order 250 grams of sugar, and pay 1/4 of the original per kilogram price.
Number of items per package
This quantity represents the amount of the product that corresponds to the unit price.
For example, if you sell a bag of potatoes, priced by the kilogram, type 1 to indicate that the unit price refers to one kilogram. In this case, the customer receives one kilogram for the unit price, two kilograms for twice the unit price. If it is possible to buy half a kilogram, indicated by 0.5 in the Sold in multiples of this amount field, then the customer receives 2.5 kilograms for 2.5 times the unit price.
If you sell 3 light bulbs for the unit price of $5, then type 3 to indicate that the unit price refers to three light bulbs. The customer receives three light bulbs for the unit price, and six light bulbs for twice the unit price. If is possible to buy one light bulb, indicated by a 1 in the Sold in multiples of this amount field, then the customer can purchase 4 bulbs. The customer pays $5 for 3 bulbs and $1.67 ($5 divided by 3) for the fourth bulb.
Unit of Measure
Use this field to select the unit of measure used for the product. In keeping with the example above, you would select kilogram, as you are pricing the bag of potatoes and bulk sugar per kilogram.
