The objective of a campaign is to effectively advertise the incentives created in the store.
The main purpose of having a Web campaign is to show one or more targeted advertisements to the customers when they visit the store. Web campaigns are typically created by either a Marketing Manager or Product/Merchandising Manager. They are often associated with a certain set of objectives. For instance, a "Back to School" campaign may have an objective of increasing sales of children's clothes during the campaign.
There are perhaps different kind of advertisements serving different purposes. Here, we deal with advertising incentives (or promotions) that may entice customers to make purchases, and general advertisements. There are two kinds of promotions supported: Discount and Coupon promotion. We assume that the promotions to be advertised have been created before the advertisements are created.
Advertisements must be conveyed effectively to the customers. It is the job of the creative design team to create collateral for the advertisement and it is the job of the Marketing Manager to put those advertisements in the right spot and places in the Web site with the help from the Web Design team.
